Abstract: A plate-like clip member is bent at one end and is positioned inside a window between parallel first and second units slidable relative to each other and fits over the edge of one of the units at its bent end. An elongated clamp member is bent at one end. The clamp member is positioned inside the window in operative proximity with the clip member and fits over the edge of the other of the units at its bent end. A fastening device releasably affixes the clamp member to the clip member inside the window thereby preventing relative movement of the members and the window units.

Abstract: A cassette or similar article storage cabinet including an open frame enclosure means including opposed sides having vertically spaced horizontally positioned support flanges. One or more flexible partition members having support flanges on opposite sidewalls thereof are removably engagable with the frame to provide support action. Different sized articles can be accepted by providing one or two parallel vertically extending partition members in the frame.

Abstract: A plastic molded refrigerator pan and window assembly in which the front wall of the pan includes a large opening within which is disposed a separable snap-engaging clear plastic panel. The engagement is provided by upper and lower channels provided in the respective edges of the panel which engage opposing sides of the front wall adjacent the edge of the opening. Because of the generally unsupported and flexible nature of the front wall along the upper edge of the opening, the panel engaging structure includes tab portions of varying height which in certain areas snap into the respective opposing channel and at other areas require sufficient forceful displacement of the top of the wall to seat the tab in the flange so that unintended disengagement is prevented even at the most flexible area of the panel.

Abstract: A furniture construction kit comprising a few standard parts makes it possible to construct a variety of articles of furniture. The main parts are elongated frame elements each consisting of two coaxial tubes interconnected by diametrically opposed radial ribs, the inner tube having an internal thread at one end, and a joint associable with the end threads of the frame elements. The joint comprises two like rings fitting between the ends of two associated frame elements and a connecting member having a threaded shank for connection with the internal end thread for coaxial association the associated frame element and a sectorshaped hook head extending eccentrically from the shank in a plane perpendicular to the shank axis into one of the rings.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for file cabinet drawers having a receding front wall includes a vertically movable elongated rod with horizontally extending projections which is positioned adjacent the side walls of the drawers on one side of the file cabinet; a rotatable shaft supported beneath the bottom wall of each drawer and extending beyond the side walls of each drawer; and a locking member mounted on the shaft between each drawer side wall and the file cabinet casing. A camming surface on the locking member on the side of the cabinet adjacent the rod is engaged by the projection on the upwardly moving rod causing the shaft to rotate and thereby actuating both locking members into engagement with both sides of the receding drawer front wall. The locking member on the other side of the cabinet also engages a retainer element attached to the file cabinet casing.

Abstract: A combination home stereo entertainment center and bar includes slidable supports for the stereo system to provide access to the stereo components from an open rear bar section. The system is supported independently of the bar itself to prevent motion of the bar from being transmitted to the stereo system. Rollable supports are provided to maintain the stereo system level while it is in a withdrawn position relative to the bar. A window may be provided in the front of the bar for viewing and highlighting the stereo system.

Abstract: An overhead door for the vertical opening of a truck trailer comprises a plurality of panels connected together by hinges, which extend the width of the panels and are confined within the panel. The panels, which are preferably formed of plastic, are counterbalanced by a spring, which is movable with the panels. The spring is wound by gears, which are connected thereto, cooperating with racks on the horizontal portions of the tracks on which the panels are movably supported. The bottom panel is locked to the trailer body by a locking mechanism, which is carried by the lowermost panel and cooperates with locking pins on the mounting angles on which the vertical portions of the tracks are supported.

Abstract: An assembly for releasably locking doors, windows and the like. A lock pin movable between locking and unlocking positions is retained by a lock bar in both of these positions with the lock bar also preventing removal of the lock pin from the assembly.

Abstract: The rear and side panels of a drawer are formed from a single slab of foamed rigid poly(vinyl chloride) having a reinforcing densified core and a densified outer skin with a wood grain pattern thereon. A longitudinal groove is formed in one surface of the slab adjacent the bottom edge thereof, and two V-shaped grooves are cut across the width of the same surface at appropriate ultimate corner forming locations. Appropriate guide slots and drawer front fastening configurations are formed on the slab. The slab is heated and bent at the V-shaped groove locations to form the rear and side panels of the drawer. A drawer bottom panel is installed in the longitudinal groove adjacent the bottom edge of the rear and side panels and the drawer front is attached. The drawer looks, feels, sounds, and handles like wood, but is less expensive and has many desirable qualities not possessed by wood.

Abstract: A safety latch for holding a closure such as a door in its locked position or in a partially open position to enhance security. A pair of swingably connected links are provided in combination with a keeper. In one position of the links the closure is held against opening and in another position of the links the closure is held against further opening from a partially opened position.

Abstract: A table, especially a club table with a top surface having a central planch or surface portion which is movable with respect to the surrounding table top between a position in which it is flush with the surrounding table top and a position in which it is elevated above the surrounding surface. The central surface portion is supported and moved by a motor and a hoisting mechanism centrally disposed in the table, the region around the hoisting mechanism having storage shelves which are exposed when the planch is moved above the surrounding table top. Three embodiments of drive mechanisms are disclosed.
