  • Patent number: 4124906
Abstract: A set of round support weights connected by a hollow horizontal bottom support having perforations so that the bottom support can fill with water and not be buoyant can be connected to a crib by vertical supports engaging corner vertical rails of the crib, the crib consisting of an upper rail, a bottom rail and vertical rails connecting the upper and bottom rails with a floor clamped to a bottom of the bottom rail. A set screw can secure the corner vertical rails to the upright supports and adjustable coping locks attached to diagonally opposite corners of the upper rails of the crib can secure the upper rails of the crib to a coping of a pool, so children of different ages may be able to use a pool while their parents are free to use the pool at the same time.

  • Patent number: 4121309
Abstract: A furniture assembly, such as a metal box spring assembly, including slats defining support members for a plurality of coil springs. An aperture is formed in the metal support slat with an upset portion disposed about the periphery of the aperture and out of the plane of the support member and the tail of the coiled spring is inserted into the aperture and thereafter the upset portion is flattened toward the plane of the support member to force the periphery of the aperture into gripping engagement with the tail of the coil spring to retain the coil spring to the support member. The upset portion has a groove therein for receiving a radially extending support portion of the coil spring for receiving and positioning the radially extending support portion of the coil spring thereby positioning the entire spring.

  • Patent number: 4121310
Abstract: A flotation support system is disclosed, which includes a generally rectangular air frame, defined by a tubular air-filled member, which member surrounds an open region. A base sheet extends beneath the open region to define with the air-filled member a nesting receptacle for a fluid-containing envelope. Means are provided for spacing the envelope above the underlying base sheet, so that the space between the envelope and base sheet may define an accumulation space for fluid leaking from the envelope. Such spacing means may comprise a platform positioned in the nesting receptacle with an upper surface thereof underlying and supporting the envelope in spaced relationship from the base sheet. The platform may include passages to enable fluid flow to the accumulation space defined between the platform surface and base sheet, whereby leakage from the envelope may flow to the said space to prevent undesired collection of leaked fluid about the edges or above the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4121878
Abstract: A resilient restraining member for use with a cabinet having a drawer. The cabinet includes a rail integral with the drawer, a run secured to the cabinet and transport means secured to the drawer. The resilient restraining member has a first spring portion at one end adapted to be attached to the run and a second spring portion at the other end adapted to normally extend into the run. The transport means is disposed to travel along the run and to urge the second spring portion out of its path of travel as the drawer is moved toward a closed position. The second spring portion thereafter returns to its normal position extending into the run to cooperate with the transport means to releasably retain the drawer in the closed position. The transport means again is disposed to travel along the run and to urge the second spring portion out of its path of travel as the drawer is later moved toward an open position.

  • Patent number: 4120061
Abstract: Each mattress comprises a plurality of valved cells or cylinders held by a cover in side by side relation. Each cell is made from flexible, essentially inelastic material, and comprises upper and lower cylindrical sections of equal diameter interconnected by one or more corrugated cylindrical sections of smaller diameter. Each lower cylindrical section has an orifice which connects the interior of the cell with an air plenum that extends along the entire underside of the mattress, and which registers with a valve that projects from the inner surface of the plenum opposite the cell orifice. Each orifice may be supported by a small, collapsible section of the cell in a normally open position, so that when a load is applied to the top of the cell it automatically closes the orifice against the registering valve; or, alternatively, the valve may be insertable manually into the orifice to seal it until once again manually removed.

  • Patent number: 4120062
Abstract: This invention relates to a new and improved infant WATERBEDS ENVIRONMENTS designed to simulate the intrauterine environment. This is achieved by the use of a specially designed water filled bladder pulsated by means of a pump which generates rushing water, or by a mechanical device which imparts impulses to said bladder. Audible and tactile sensations created by the pulsating devices and the rushing movement of water coact to recreate aspects of the prenatal infant environment. Novel safety features incorporated into the waterbed include a bladder designed to drain from the top, a permeable supporting structure, and a curved base to allow immediate dissipation of water in the event of a leak.

  • Patent number: 4120546
Abstract: An endless belt is mounted on, and extends between, a pair of elongated rollers rotatably mounted in a housing in spaced parallel relation parallel to, and in proximity with, the top and bottom of the housing. A plurality of shelf members are affixed to the belt and extend perpendicularly from the belt in spaced parallel relation for releasably storing files between next-adjacent shelf members. A motor coupled to one of the rollers rotates the rollers and the belt to move the shelf members cyclically from top to bottom to top inside the housing. An opening is formed in the front of the housing and covered by a selectively openable door to provide access to the shelf members for inserting and removing files.
