Abstract: An additive composition for use in a fuel for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine comprises an octane-boosting additive and one or more further fuel additives. The octane-boosting additive has a chemical structure comprising a 6-membered aromatic ring sharing two adjacent aromatic carbon atoms with a 6- or 7-membered saturated heterocyclic ring, the 6- or 7-membered saturated heterocyclic ring comprising a nitrogen atom directly bonded to one of the shared carbon atoms to form a secondary amine and an atom selected from oxygen or nitrogen directly bonded to the other shared carbon atom, the remaining atoms in the 6- or 7-membered heterocyclic ring being carbon. The additive composition increases the octane number of the fuel, thereby proving the auto-ignition characteristics of a fuel.
Abstract: Compounds having the formula (F-I) below are provided herein: wherein: R1 is a C1-C5000 alkyl group; R2 is (i) a C4-C30 linear alkyl group or (ii) a C4-C5000 branched alkyl having the formula (F-II) below: wherein R5 and R6 at each occurrence are each independently a hydrogen or a C1-C30 linear alkyl group and n is a positive integer, provided however, among all of R5 and R6, at least one is a C1-C30 linear alkyl group; and R7 is a hydrogen or a C1-C30 linear alkyl group; R3 is hydrogen or a C1-C5000 alkyl group; and R4 is a C1-C50 alkyl group or an aromatic group. Processes for preparing compounds of formula (F-I) as well as base stock and lubricant compositions containing compounds of formula (F-I) are also provided.

The additive increases the octane number of the fuel, thereby improving the auto-ignition characteristics of the fuel.
Abstract: A fuel composition for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine comprises a non-metallic octane-boosting additive. The non-metallic octane-boosting additive is an additive which, when used at a treat rate of 0.67 % by weight, increases the research octane number of a fuel by at least 1.8 whilst maintaining the T90 and/or the vapour pressure.
Abstract: An example composite waterproof fire starting puck includes a base of paraffin wax, a quantity of dried waterproof or hydrophobic moss embedded in, and surrounding, the paraffin wax, and a quantity of combustible material(s) embedded in, and projecting out of, the paraffin wax. An example composite waterproof fire starting puck may also include a wax cover. An example composite waterproof fire starting puck may also include flammable organic herbs or fragrant material(s) to provide a desirable smell during burning. When a spark or small flame is applied to the moss, the moss ignites, and after the moss ignites, the moss releases sufficient heat to ignite the quantity of combustible material(s) to melt and ignite the paraffin.
Abstract: A bio emulsion fuel manufacturing apparatus and method using vegetable oil is provided, including an oil tank unit configured to refine a vegetable oil introduced from an oil inlet by using a coagulant agent and a centrifugal decanter; a water tank unit configured to pretreat a water introduced from a water inlet by using a water tank catalyst; a mixed oil unit connected to the oil tank unit and the water tank unit, and configured to produce a mixed oil by using an inline mixer; and an ionization catalyst unit connected to the mixed oil unit and configured to convert the mixed oil to a bio emulsion fuel by using an ionization catalyst group.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of aerated fat-based confectionery material. One aspect of the invention provides an aerated fat-based confectionery material having a continuous lipid phase and a porosity of between 1 and 80%, wherein, at a temperature at which the lipid phase has a solid lipid content between 0.1 and 80, the fat-based confectionery material comprises gas bubbles having at least 50% of their surface occupied by crystals, the crystals comprising a glyceride selected from the group consisting of monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, esters of monoglycerides, esters of diglycerides and combinations of these. Further aspects of the invention are a confectionery product comprising an aerated fat-based confectionery material and a process for forming an aerated fat-based confectionery material.
