Abstract: A printing system in which a client device utilizing a web browser and a printer, that provides a share folder, are communicably connected, displays a screen on which a print file can be specified by a drop operation on the web browser, transmits the specified print file and share-folder specification information from the client device to the printer, and prints the print file using print settings linked to the share folder.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a reading unit and a controller. The reading unit radiates light to a target from two directions with different angles and reads images of the target. The controller performs, when controlling the reading unit to acquire the two images of the target, control such that a resolution of the image read by radiating the light to the target from one of the two directions is lower than a resolution of the image read by radiating the light to the target from the other one of the two directions.

The reading unit is provided on top of the housing and includes a document feed opening, a transport section, and a reading section. A back cover moves in tandem with a mounting tray, and moves to a closed position in which the back cover covers the opening when the mounting tray is closed and an open position in which the back cover does not prevent the mounting tray from rotating for stowage in the opening when the mounting tray is open. When in the closed position, the mounting tray covers the document feed opening of the reading unit.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus that is configured to detect tampering with predetermined software shifts to one of a power-off mode and a suspended mode based on a power-off instruction. Abstract: A concealment substrate manufacturing process begins by printing or painting a graphic design as camouflage on substrates like mesh-textured uniforms, military equipment, Mylar thermal blanket sheets, adhesive tapes, etc. The graphic design is uniquely generated from pseudo-random noise in four overlaying color pigments that each begin as a raster of randomly generated noise in a standardized tile size. E.g., gray, green, tan, and brown colors natural for concealment applications are each masked by two-tone image contrast rasters. The four results are mixed together in groups with a monochrome mixing mask to produce a whole tile. Such concealment camouflage tile conjoins seamlessly on-edge within other arrays of identical tiles. One variation adds a distorted-grid mesh-texture overly texture to the concealment camouflage, and even a faint “watermark” related to a commercial trademark.

Abstract: In order to prevent wasteful power consumption, in various embodiments, advance activation of a printer is avoided in the event of an attack on a particular port if the printer is used in a network environment with a low security strength. For example, according to one embodiment, while a GPIO signal for activating the printer in advance is generated in response to reception of print data, the GPIO assert setting is disabled if a network to which the printer is connected has a low security strength.
