Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining a synchronization accuracy of a time synchronization of a first communication unit. A time request is sent via a communication channel at a corresponding instant of time of transmission from the first communication unit to a second communication unit. The method comprises receiving a time response at the first communication unit, the time response providing a synchronization time information for the second communication unit. The synchronization accuracy is determined based on the instant of time of transmission and the instant of time of reception.

  • Patent number: 11510187
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for transmitting uplink control information (UCI) over an OFDMA-based uplink. In some embodiments, UCI symbols are mapped to resource elements (REs) in the time/frequency resource grid to maximize frequency diversity. In some embodiments, UCI is mapped in a manner that takes into account channel estimation performance by mapping UCI symbols to those REs that are closest (in terms of OFDM subcarriers/symbols) to REs that carry reference signals.

  • Patent number: 11502765
Abstract: Techniques for facilitating a robust clock synchronization across a computer network that presumes network jitter exists are discussed herein. A first device and a second device transceive a plurality of sets of time-synchronization messages to synchronize a synchronization clock of the second device to a first clock of the first device. The second device calculates a smoothing of time delay data of a plurality of sets. The time delay data is associated with a transmission duration of time-synchronization messages of the sets of the plurality. The second device sets a synchronization clock based on a time at the first device and the smoothed time delay data.

  • Patent number: 11476989
Abstract: User Equipments (UEs) may be assigned a set of aggregated component carriers for downlink carrier aggregation and/or carrier selection. Some UEs may be incapable of transmitting uplink signals over all component carriers in their assigned set of aggregated component carriers. In such scenarios, a UE may need to perform SRS switching in order to transmit SRS symbols over all of the component carriers. Embodiments of this disclosure provide various techniques for facilitating SRS switching. For example, a radio resource control (RRC) message may be used to signal a periodic SRS configuration parameter. As another example, a downlink control indication (DCI) message may be used to signal an aperiodic SRS configuration parameter. Many other examples are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11470579
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe using a dual assess point (AP) to establish two access points that both are established by two individual radios (e.g., two 5 GHz radios). Generally, APs experience highly degraded performance when two co-located radios operate within the same band. In one embodiment, AP devices can deploy same band radios using a macro-micro cell approach. Thus, the AP may intelligently hand off client devices between the micro and macro cell in a way that optimizes the system for overall throughput and low packet latency while creating minimal oscillation of clients between cells. The embodiments in this disclosure disclose techniques that direct clients in a manner that optimizes these factors.

  • Patent number: 11463371
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for discovering dynamic path maximum transmission unit (PMTU) between a sending computing device and a receiving computing device (e.g., a client device and a host device) are described herein. A sending computing device may iteratively transmit bursts of probe packets, each burst being defined by a search range between a maximum packet size and a minimum packet size. The sending computing device may iteratively update the search range based on the previous iteration until the search converges on the PMTU. When the PMTU is discovered, each of the computing devices may update their transport and presentation layer buffers based on the discovered PMTU without any other protocol level disruption. In a multi-path scenario, the computing device may discover PMTU for each of the paths and select a performance optimal path based on the individual PMTUs and other network characteristics such as loss, latency, and throughput.

  • Patent number: 11424891
Abstract: A method and system for minimizing the control overhead in a multi-carrier wireless communication network that utilizes a time-frequency resource is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more zones in the time-frequency resource are designated for particular applications, such as a zone dedicated for voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications. By grouping applications of a similar type together within a zone, a reduction in the number of bits necessary for mapping a packet stream to a portion of the time-frequency resource can be achieved. In some embodiments, modular coding schemes associated with the packet streams may be selected that further reduce the amount of necessary control information. In some embodiments, packets may be classified for transmission in accordance with application type, QoS parameters, and other properties. In some embodiments, improved control messages may be constructed to facilitate the control process and minimize associated overhead.
