  • Patent number: 10292019
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for efficiently establishing communications connections, e.g., for a secondary application, are described. A device to device communications network has established routing paths, e.g., corresponding to a first application. Different segments of the network use different gateways. Individual communications devices within a segment of the network may have incomplete information on the routing within the segment. A wireless communications device advertises the gateway device which it uses for the first application. A first communications device seeking to establish a communications connection with a second communications device for a second application uses obtained gateway information to make transmission and/or routing decisions, e.g., identifying a third communications device which can bridge a routing path gap between two segments of the network.

  • Patent number: 10291533
Abstract: A packet forwarding network may include switches that forward network traffic between end hosts and network tap devices that forward copied network traffic to an analysis network formed from client switches that are controlled by a controller. Network analysis devices and network service devices may be coupled to the client switches at interfaces of the analysis network. The controller may receive one or more network policies from a network administrator. A network policy may identify ingress interfaces, egress interfaces, matching rules, packet manipulation services to be performed. The controller may control the client switches to generate network paths that forward network packets that match the matching rules from the ingress interfaces to the egress interfaces through service devices that perform the services of the list. The controller may generate network paths for network policies based on network topology information and/or current network conditions maintained at the controller.

  • Patent number: 10291495
Abstract: A network analysis terminal is described that operates within a vehicle cabin to generate passenger connectivity experience metrics. The terminal monitors packets communicated through at least one cabin network between a content server and passenger terminals. The terminal receives packets monitored by the network interface and identifies passenger terminal identifiers that are addressed by content of the packets. Names of vehicle passengers associated with the packets are identified using the passenger terminal identifiers as indexes to retrieve the names of vehicle passengers from an information repository that maps names of vehicle passengers to passenger terminal identifiers. Passenger connectivity experience metrics are generated based on measurements performed on the packets over time.

  • Patent number: 10278107
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a network node serves a wireless device capable of carrier aggregation involving a primary cell, PCell, and at least one secondary cell, SCell. The network node determines (304) a target quality for the wireless device to achieve with respect to at least the PCell; determines (308) a PCell interruption probability (e.g., probability of missed ACK/NACK in uplink) corresponding to an SCell measurement cycle that can be used by the wireless device for measuring on one or more cells of a secondary component carrier, SCC, with a deactivated SCell; adapts (312) a parameter related to the CA configuration to make it feasible to achieve the target quality, the parameter adapted based on a comparison between the target quality and the PCell interruption probability; and configures (316) the wireless device with the adapted parameter.

  • Patent number: 10277492
Abstract: Downlink signals output from a transmission and reception unit are combined with an interference signal of a CW, a resultant signal is applied to a mobile terminal, throughputs for respective interference signal frequencies for the downlink signals are collectively measured, a signal suppression band of the filter is fitted to a frequency band of the downlink signal determined not to reach a defined value, and re-measurement and re-determination of the throughput for the downlink signal among the collectively measured throughputs are performed. In a case where throughputs collectively measured at a certain interference signal frequency are equal to or greater than the defined value and a case where re-measured throughputs of all the downlink signals are equal to or greater than the defined value, the interference signal frequency is switched to the next interference signal frequency, and collective throughput measurement is performed.

  • Patent number: 10271321
Abstract: The 3GPP LTE wireless communication system employs dynamic scheduling and assignment of resources using the Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) to support low latency requirements for many applications. To keep the payload overhead low on the control messages, the dynamic scheduling and assignment messages over the PDCCH need to be decoded by the User Equipment (UE) by searching a number of possible PDCCH candidates in a given control region of the 3GPP LTE wireless communication system. This is often referred to as blind decoding of PDCCH. The high number of blind decoding attempts may lead to increased power consumption in a UE. A method and apparatus are disclosed that enable a UE to reduce the total number of decoding attempts without missing any PDCCH candidates that may be addressed to the UE which in turn may reduce the power consumption and may reduce the probability of false DCI detection.

  • Patent number: 10244414
Abstract: A wireless communication device (alternatively, device, WDEV, etc.) includes a processing circuitry configured to support communications with other WDEV(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processing circuitry, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other WDEV(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. A WDEV generates and transmits a first signal that includes a field that specifies an acceptable interference level (AIL) for concurrent communication for use by a first other WDEV to determine whether a transmission from the first other WDEV to a second other WDEV acceptably or unacceptably interferes with another transmission from the WDEV. Concurrent communication (e.g., from the WDEV to a third other WDEV, and from the first other WDEV to the second other WDEV) may be made when the AIL compares favorably with the AIL.

  • Patent number: 10243881
Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to the use of three-dimensional solid state memory structures, both volatile and non-volatile, utilizing a Network-on-Chip routing protocol which provide for the access of memory storage via a router. As such, data may be sent to and/or from memory storage as data packets on the chip. The Network-on-Chip routing protocol may be utilized to interconnect unlimited numbers of three-dimensional memory cell matrices, spread on a die, or multiple dies, thus allowing for reduced latencies among matrices, selective power control, unlimited memory density growth without major latency penalties, and reduced parasitic capacitance and resistance. Other benefits include a reduction in total density as compared to two-dimensional solid state memory structures utilizing a Network-on-Chip routing protocol, improved signal integrity, larger die areas, improved bandwidths and higher frequencies of operation.

  • Patent number: 10244506
Abstract: For paging user devices that are link budget limited (LBL), a base station transmits a special ID that is used by said devices to identify a paging frame and/or a paging occasion. When transmitting a paging message for an LBL device, the base station may use: (a) larger aggregation and larger CFI (than conventionally allowed) and (b) a larger number of resource blocks (than conventionally allowed) for paging payload. If paging messages for LBL devices saturate the paging frame capacity, the base station may allocate a plurality of special IDs. If paging messages for LBL devices and/or other data transfers saturate network capacity, at least a subset of the LBL devices may be directed to enter a connected-state discontinuous reception (DRX) mode, wherein those devices will remain in connected mode and periodically check for resource allocations. Paging payload information may be repeatedly transmitted in successive subframes, to support soft combining.

  • Patent number: 10219276
Abstract: A wireless communication base station device which makes it possible to provide a base station, terminal and CCE allocation method capable of reducing the number of times blind decoding of a terminal is performed, without increasing the CCE block rate, even when a plurality of unit bands are set in a terminal. In this device, a search space setting section (103) sets in each of a plurality of unit bands a common search space in respect of a terminal which is communicating using the plurality of unit bands and other terminals, and sets in each of the plurality of unit bands an individual search space in respect of the terminal. An allocation section (106) allocates control information solely to CCEs within the common search spaces set in specified unit bands among the plurality of unit bands, or solely to CCEs within individual search spaces set in specified unit bands.
