Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus configures at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second apparatus when the apparatus is out of network coverage, and communicates with at least the second apparatus.
Abstract: A switch, a system for power management and a method for power management are provided. Multiple modules are included in the switch. A determination module determines whether a system time of the switch is in a preset time interval. If yes, a switch module switches the switch to a first mode and sends a first switch signal indicating the first mode to multiple access points (APs). A collecting module collects coverage over clients of each of the APs. A searching module searches for at least one first AP among the APs based on the coverage of each of the APs. An adjustment module disables at least one second AP among the APs other than the at least one first AP after a preset time.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for determining a location from non-line-of-sight (NLOS) signals are described. A processor can determine that multipath interferences of a signal reaching a receiver through different paths that are close in lengths may be mistakenly interpreted as additional time shift, (e.g., additional time delay or, in some cases, time advance) of the signal in calculating a timing of the signal. The processor can determine the possible differences between path lengths and then determine an amount of the additional time shift. The processor can determine a shift correction to remove effects caused by the additional time delay from the timing calculation.

Abstract: Disclosed are, inter alia, methods, apparatus, computer-readable media, mechanisms used in one embodiment configured for, and means for, determining packet forwarding information for packets sent from a protocol offload engine in a packet switching device. The protocol offload engine performs the protocol processing for a protocol application (e.g., BGP) running on a separate control plane processing system, and generates packets to be sent to external devices. The protocol offload engine sends these packets to one of the line cards without using the routing information lookup facility of the control plane processing system, thereby, freeing the control plane processing system to use those processing cycles to perform other tasks.

Abstract: A system and method for adjusting the filtering of acknowledgments (ACKS) in a TCP environment. State variables are used to keep track of, first, the number of times an ACK has been promoted into (a variable which can be stored on a per-packet basis along with the session ID), and second, the number of times an ACK is allowed to be promoted into (which can be global, or can be stored per-session).
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for efficiently setting up a bidirectional multicast service in a mobile communication system. The bidirectional service is provided to a user equipment located in a radio cell controlled by a control entity. For the downlink data of the bidirectional service a downlink multicast service framework is utilized. In case the control entity decides for a point-to-point radio link to the UE, the system resources of the downlink framework are configured so as to re-use the configured system resources of the bidirectional service. This includes radio resources in the radio access network and may include tunnels in the core network. The invention further relates to a network entity in the CN or in the RAN for configuring system resources and for forwarding the multicast service data to the UE. The invention also relates to a mobile terminal for receiving the bidirectional multicast service.

Abstract: A method of compressing and restoring an Internet Protocol (IP) packet which is transmitted through a broadcast network is provided. According to the method, by using a characteristic of a transmission structure of a broadcast network, that is unlike ordinary packet switching communication networks, a field value that can be removed from a header part of an IP packet is determined. Then, the determined field value is removed from the header, and an IP packet having a header formed with the remaining field values is generated, thereby compressing the header of the IP packet more effectively compared to the header of the conventional static IP packet. In addition, by transmitting a compressed IP packet instead of a static IP packet which is periodically transmitted according to the conventional method, compatibility that the compression method can be used together with conventional compression methods is guaranteed.
Abstract: An improved system and method are disclosed for peer-to-peer communications. In one example, the method enables an endpoint to traverse a NAT device using a stateless reflector.

Abstract: Asynchronous/plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) signals, such as DS1 and E1, are transported using virtual concatenation. The packetized data signals are frame encapsulated and subsequently inverse multiplexed into a plurality of PDH frames. An overhead packet is inserted in the transmitted frames to enable the receiver to determine the status of the frames and extract the differential delay experienced by various frames as they are routed through virtually concatenated channels. The extracted delays enables the receiver to realign the various frames of the PDH signal to reconstitute the originally transmitted signals that travel through different paths of the transport network linking the source and sink of the virtually concatenated channel.
