Abstract: A method and instrument to irradiate a light adjustable lens, for example, inside a human eye, with an appropriate amount of radiation in an appropriate pattern by measuring aberrations in the system containing the lens; aligning a source of the modifying radiation so as to impinge the radiation onto the lens in a pattern that corresponds to the aberration; and controlling the quantity of the impinging radiation whereby to decrease the aberration. The quantity of the impinging radiation is controlled by controlling the intensity and duration of the irradiation. The pattern is controlled and monitored while the lens is irradiated.

Abstract: Machine for manufacturing mesh bags from a continuous roll of tubular mesh, and for filling and closing said mesh bags, which comprise an expansion device which is perimetric to the tubular mesh, the core expander of which is equipped with a vertical aperture which, as if it were a slot, traverses said core expander and connects the two frontal faces thereof and extends from its base to an intermediate point, for which the core expander adopts an inverted “U” shape, the machine also being fitted with preventive welding means, adapted for partially welding the two frontal faces of the tubular mesh and, as the case may be, the adjoining laminates of thermally weldable material through the aperture of the core expander; a traction device which drags a section of the tubular mesh provided with a bottom; conveyor means; and second and third filling and closing stations, respectively, both being arranged linearly.
Abstract: A fluid application device stores seam paste in a reservoir tank 18 and feeds the seam paste to a pressure tank 20 through a feed pump 22. Inside of the pressure tank 20 is maintained under a given air pressure by a pneumatic unit 26, and the seam paste is supplied from the pressure tank 20 to an application nozzle 16 through a supply pipe 24. A level sensor 28 detects fluid level of stored seam paste in the pressure tank 20, and a detection signal is input to a controller 30. The controller 30 controls operation of the feed pump 22 based on the detection signal that is transmitted from the level sensor 28 and also controls a supply amount of the seam paste to the pressure tank 20 to maintain the fluid level in the pressure tank 20 at a fixed level.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of joining at least two linoleum sheets. The method includes creating a seam between the linoleum sheets and forming a bead of non-epoxy adhesive on a seam edge or injecting the non-epoxy adhesive into a closed seam. The seam formed by the edges of the linoleum sheets is joined and filled with the adhesive. Excess adhesive is removed and the seam is rolled and the seam adhesive is limited to the area between the linoleum sheets and the substrate within one linoleum sheet thickness of the seam.
Abstract: A pad forming process forms a stack of sheets, each sheet bearing adhesive on at least a portion of one side thereof. A sheet cutting die is provided having sheet collection cavity therein. A web comprising a linerless elongated sheeting having one side at least partially covered with an adhesive is advanced past the die. The die cuts the web to form a first cut sheet which is retained within the sheet collection cavity of the die. The web continues to advance past the die. The die then cuts the web to form a second cut sheet from the web which is retained within the sheet collection cavity of the die, wherein the second cut sheet adheres to the first cut sheet within the sheet collection cavity to form a stack of sheets.
