    Abstract: A cap for use with bottled water dispensing systems. The cap includes a main cap and a liner. The main cap has an opening which receives and seals against a probe. The liner is gripped between the main cap and the bottle neck and has a outside part and an inner movable part. The inner movable part is separated from the outer part by perforations and is connected to the outer part by a large connecting section, which serves as a hinge, and small connecting sections, which serve as frangible ties. When the bottle is lowered onto the dispensing system, the probe enters into the opening in the main cap, breaks the frangible ties, and pushes the inner movable part open like a flap. The liner, at the location of the large connecting section, is resilient such that the inner movable part tends to close when the bottle is removed from the dispensing system.

    Abstract: A fuel cap has a torque mechanism that transmits a rotational torque to a casing main body through engagement elements in response to rotation of a cover. When the rotational torque exceeds a predetermined level, the engagement is released to give a click. The first torque arm is constructed as a cantilever beam having a free end facing an arm support member across a preset gap. Under application of pressure, the first torque arm is deformed and transmits a rotational torque in the closing direction to the casing main body. This arrangement assures setting of the rotational torque of the torque mechanism to the predetermined level to apply a sufficient sealing stress to the fuel cap.

The detent, which depends from the front of the lid, has rounded ends and an inwardly extending lip disposed on its outer side. The tab, which depends from the front of the base, has an upper surface, a lower surface, and two end surfaces. The upper surface is angled toward the lower surface and the end surfaces are substantially flat. The upper surface and the inwardly extending lip are constructed and arranged with respect to each other so that when the detent is pressed into the tab the inwardly extending lip will snap into position beneath the upper surface and interlock with it to lock the lid and base.

    Abstract: A cap device of the invention has a tether mechanism, which is used to link a fuel cap to a fueling lid. The tether mechanism includes a cord-like flexible linkage body having one end as a first support end, which is fit in a support member of a rotating ring. The first support end is inserted from inside of the rotating ring through an insertion opening into a support recess. This fits the first support end in the support recess, while allowing the linkage body to be led through a lead opening. The first support end is accordingly fixed to the support member. The rotating ring is then attached to a circular groove formed on the fuel cap. The tether mechanism of this simple structure is readily fixed and thereby ensures easy attachment to the fuel cap.

Rotation of the handle in a closing direction screws the male threading element into the female threading element. A stopper formed on the male threading element comes into contact with the start end of the female threading element to complete the closing operation. At this fully closed position, a gasket located between the closer and a sealing face of the filler neck is pressed and displaced in an axial direction to seal the sealing face of the filler neck with a sealing face pressure of not less than a preset level.
