Abstract: The present invention relates to a method in which a personal network element (PNE) forming a PN requests a converged personal network service (CPNS) to set up a new personal network (PN) on the basis of PN usage information. The method is performed by the PNE and includes: transmitting, to a PN gateway (PN GW), a message requesting the generation of PN usage information on a currently set PN; and receiving a generation response message including the result of generating the PN usage information corresponding to the generation request message. The PN usage information is created by the CPNS server on the basis of the generation request message and is stored in a PN usage information list of the CPSN. The PN usage information includes a PN usage information index, a PN alias, an expiry, a PN identifier (ID), a PN GW ID, and a PNE ID.

  • Patent number: 9538549
Abstract: A method for a user equipment sending an uplink resource scheduling request in a long term evolution mobile communication system and the user equipment thereof are provided. The present invention relates to a technique for the user equipment sending the uplink resource scheduling request in a long term evolution system, for reducing the user data transmission delay. The embodiments of the present invention set the minimum alternative option of the scheduling request transmission cycle configuration parameter as 2 ms or 1 ms, that is to say, add 2 ms or 1 ms, or 2 ms and 1 ms to the alternative option of the scheduling request transmission cycle configuration parameter, therefore, improving the flexibility of the whole system in the scheduling request transmission cycle configuration. When the data delay is required to be less, the user data transmission delay can be reduced, by using the 2 ms or 1 ms scheduling request transmission cycle configuration, to the delay requirement of 10 ms as close as possible.

  • Patent number: 9538425
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an optimization of handover procedures between universal terrestrial radio access (UTRA) release 6 (R6) cells and UTRA release 7 (R7) cells are disclosed. When a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is moving between an R6 cell and an R7 cell, or between R7 cells, a handover is initiated from a source Node-B to a target Node-B. In the R7 cell, the enhanced medium access control (MAC) functionality including flexible radio link control (RLC) protocol data unit (PDU) size and high speed MAC (MAC-hs) segmentation and multiplexing of different priority queues are supported. After the handover, a MAC layer and/or an RLC layer are reconfigured or reset based on functionality supported by the target Node-B.

  • Patent number: 9537678
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for improved channel estimation in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system are discussed. In one example discussed herein, joint two-dimensional Minimum Mean-Square Error (2D-MMSE) channel estimation is performed on any Resource Element (REs) containing a reference signal in a Resource Block (RB), one-dimensional Minimum Mean-Square Error (1D-MMSE) channel estimation is performed in the frequency domain on each OFDM symbol in the RB, and then channel estimation is performed in the time domain on each frequency sub-carrier in the RB. In another example discussed herein, Power Delay Profiles (PDPs) and/or frequency correlations are calculated using minimax optimization and then stored in a Look-Up Table (LUT) indexed by estimated Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and the estimated maximum delay spread. A portable device could use such an LUT in MMSE calculations.

  • Patent number: 9532268
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE). In some examples, the UE may identify an initialization and refresh (IR) packet at the radio link control (RLC) layer based the size of the IR packet, where the IR packet comprises a larger ciphered PDU size than a compressed RoHC packet. Accordingly, once the UE identifies the received packet as an IR packet, the UE may attempt to decipher the IR packet using one or more HFN offset values. In one example, the UE may determine whether the IR packet is deciphered correctly based on cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value of the deciphered IR packet. As a result, the present disclosure allows the UE to re-synchronize with the transmitting device by at least one of incrementing or decrementing an HFN value at the receiving device.

  • Patent number: 9525642
Abstract: Ordering partial network traffic. In an embodiment, data packets are received from a network tap and separated into two queues. For each queue, a push-sequence is maintained to represent a sequence number that must be pushed in order to maintain a consecutive order. When both push-sequences are equal to the sequence number of their first packets, if the acknowledgement number of the first packet on one queue is greater than the push-sequence for the other queue and less than or equal to the push-sequence of the one queue, data is pushed off the other queue. Otherwise, a queue having the earlier timestamp is identified as a first queue, the existence of a next acknowledgement number is determined for the second (other) queue, and data is pushed off the first queue according to the existence of the next acknowledgement number. Gap packets may be generated to force progress.

  • Patent number: 9526103
Abstract: Logic may implement a slot assignment scheme that uses information provided in traffic indication map (TIM) information element (IE) and restricted access window (RAW) parameter set (PS) IE to determine a station-to-slot mapping function for communication of slot assignments to stations for RAWs. The TIM IE may comprise a bitmap indicating paged and unpaged stations. The RAW PS IE may comprise a duration and a slot duration. Logic may implement the station-to-slot function by determining the number of slots in a RAW and correlating slot assignments for stations based upon a position for the station in the TIM bitmap. The TIM bitmap may identify each station via a bit on a page in the bitmap based upon an assignment of the station to a position in the TIM bitmap. The station-to-slot mapping function may use an offset for fair access.

  • Patent number: 9521673
Abstract: A method for resolving a Temporary Block Flow (TBF) in a wireless network including one or more mobile stations exchanging data with a base station system. The method comprises receiving a RLC/MAC block and retrieving a first TFI in the RLC/MAC header. The TFI is compared to an assigned TFI. The capability for the associated MS to resolve TBFs based on extended TFI addressing is determined. If the received first TFI matches assigned TFI and represents a comprehensive TFI for the associated MS, the payload of the RLC/MAC block is decoded. When the first TFI matches assigned TFI value and is identified as a code point to an eTFI, at least a predetermined field of the RLC data block is decoded and an extended TFI, eTFI, is retrieved. The eTFI is compared with an assigned eTFI. Following a match, the payload of the RLC data block is decoded.

  • Patent number: 9516657
Abstract: Since common E-DCH resources may be assigned from a single Node B, uplink macro-diversity may not be possible between neighboring Node B's. In addition, a user equipment (UE) assigned a common E-DCH resource may not be allowed to perform cell reselection. Thus, maintaining the assignment of a common E-DCH resource to a given UE for more than a few hundred milliseconds may result in unacceptable inter-cell interference, for example, when the UE moves closer to a neighboring cell controlled by a non-serving Node B. To overcome inter-cell interference and allow a more extensive utilization of the Cell_FACH state, a method may be used to detect and/or control inter-cell interference.

  • Patent number: 9516520
Abstract: Managing the coexistence of multiple different UE types and capabilities in wireless networks is disclosed. In order to handle the various transmission types and available UE capabilities, base stations may coordinate among each other over backhaul communications to schedule identifiable groups of UEs being served for specific sets of resources. The resources may be assigned, and UEs grouped, according to particular transmission types, UE capabilities, or a combination of both. Additional aspects may also provide for signaling to the UE that informs the UE of expected transmission types for given resources. The combined aspects facilitate reducing complexity of UE signal processing for data interference cancellation, signal decoding, and the like.
