  • Patent number: 7824315
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes a housing, a pair of pivoting foot treadles and a pair of reciprocating bellows that support the foot treadles. A sealed air system including a conduit interconnects the bellows and is operable for reciprocating transfer of air from bellow to bellow. Each of the foot treadles is pivotably movable between upper and lower positions, and has a resting position between the upper and lower positions. The resting position of the foot treadles defines a resting position of the bellows while the upper and lower positions of the foot treadles respectively define elongated and compressed positions of the bellows. In use, the elongated and compressed positions of the bellows are each no more than 5 degrees off the center resting position thereby reducing stress on the bellows.

  • Patent number: 7824317
Abstract: A user repeats a right and left swaying motion while holding a movable body in which a resistance force is generated by tension of an elastic member, hydraulic pressure, pneumatic pressure, or the like, between his/her two legs, thereby efficiently strengthening, particularly, abdominal muscles, such as rectus muscles of an abdomen, external abdominal oblique muscles, and transverse abdominal muscles, erector muscles of a spine, or iliopsoas muscles, and strengthening various kinds of abdominal and lumbar muscles with an easy motion without laying burden on a waist, unlike the motion of making a user's upper body stand or lie down, which is conventionally seen. A machine trains various kinds of abdominal and lumbar muscles, by a movable body being held between the user's two legs and is swingably journalled to a base plate.

  • Patent number: 7819778
Abstract: A safety mat structure and associated securement assembly for providing open and closed positions for a climbing wall assembly. The safety mat securement assembly utilizes a plurality of security hand hold members each having latching means and a safety mat structure having bottom, top and side securement members. The security hand hold members may be used as hand holds on the climbing wall assembly and may have a locking structure. The bottom securement member functions to hold the safety mat to or near the bottom of a climbing wall assembly during both open and closed positions of the safety mat structure. The mat securement assembly is opened or unlocked by loosening the latching means, removing security mat top loop members from the hand hold, and placing the mats on the floor along the base of the climbing wall. When in the closed or locked position, the security mats may contain a printed message communicating that the climbing wall is closed and climbing should not take place.

  • Patent number: 7771373
Abstract: A control device and a control program of a walking assisting device, wherein a desired assist ratio, which is a desired value of the ratio of a force to be supplied by a walking assisting device in a total tread force of a user relative to the total tread forces is set, the shares of a lifting force to be applied to the user from a seating part which are to be borne by the leg links are determined from the desire assist ratio and the tread forces of the legs of the user measured on the basis of outputs of force sensors, and actuators of the leg links are controlled such that the determined shares of the lifting force are generated from the leg links. Thus, a force required for the user to support himself/herself by his/her legs on a floor can be reduced while reducing the number of parts to be attached to each leg of the user, and an assisting force for achieving such reductions can be properly shared between the leg links corresponding to the legs of the user.
