  • Patent number: 7510510
Abstract: A hip-abduction stepper exercise apparatus primarily comprises a base and two pedal assemblies settled abreast on the base. Each of the pedal assemblies includes a pedal, a vertical movement module, an expanding movement module, and a recovery module. The pedal is settled on the vertical movement module while the expanding movement module is settled on the base so that the two pedals can depart from or come close to each other with respect to a level position. The vertical movement module is connected to the expanding movement module so that the two pedals can vertically move in a direction non-perpendicular to the ground. The recovery module is connected to the vertical movement module and the base and provides an external force for returning the vertical movement module and the expanding movement module to initial positions thereof.

  • Patent number: 7481751
Abstract: Devices, apparatus, systems and methods of providing therapy and exercise to the leg, ankle, and foot of a patient/occupant preferably laying down on a bed. The device can include a clamp that attaches about a footboard/headboard of a bed, with an elongated member extending out from the clamp. Pivotally attached to the end of the member can be a backward L-shaped bar, and a foot pad can be pivotally attached to the lower horizontal leg of the L-shaped bar. Springs can pull the top of the L-shaped bar toward the clamp. The user can push their foot and pivot the footpad so that the springably biased pivotally attached L-shaped bar constantly pushes back against the foot. The ankle can be rotated and the leg extended and the foot moved for therapy and exercise. An additional spring can hold the foot pad in a pivoted position so that an ankle can be further exercised.

  • Patent number: 7476186
Abstract: Exercise apparatus for resistance training includes an adjustment mechanism raising and lowering a platform, e.g. a stand-upon platform supporting the feet of the user. The adjustment mechanism both: a) journals the platform to pivot about a pivot axis parallel to a first lateral axis into and out of engagement with a detent lock; and b) linearly guides translational up and down movement of the platform and prevents side to side canting of the platform about a second lateral axis.

  • Patent number: 7470223
Abstract: An exercise apparatus provides variable resistance and includes a high drag fan which includes a plurality of fan blades radially mounted on an axle. A multi-ratio pulley system is operably mounted to the axle with the differing ratios providing variable resistance. A cord is wound on a cord reel which is operably engaged with the multi-ratio pulley system. Thus, pulling the cord turns the cord reel which then rotates the multi-ratio pulley system and the high drag fan via the axle. The distal end of the cord opposing the cord reel has an apparatus attachment point.

  • Patent number: 7468025
Abstract: A push-up exercise unit and device is described which may enable a user to move with his/her body's natural rotation to engage additional muscle groups with reduced stress on joints. The device can include a handle support structure having a pair of columns between a lower base and a separate end cap such that the handle intersects a corresponding end cap and upper portion of a corresponding column of the handle support structure. The device includes a fixed base support attached to the handle support structure, and a bearing assembly to permit rotation of the contiguous handle, end caps and handle support structure by a user with the base support resting on a planar surface. In another example, the handle assembly is detachable from a first surface on the handle support structure and inserted into a second surface to facilitate stowage for travel.

  • Patent number: 7438668
Abstract: A hurdle has contiguous trigger tubes along the telescoping tubes. A trigger mechanism inside each trigger tube is used to adjust the height of the hurdle. The trigger mechanism contains a pivoting vertical rod with an inwardly directed perpendicular upper end that extends out of the hole in the trigger tube to form a button and an outwardly directed perpendicular pin at its lower end that engages one of the holes in the upright. The vertical rod has a horizontal pivot bar attached midway along its outward surface. The lower end of the vertical rod is connected to a spring compressed within the trigger tube that forces the pin inwardly and that is further compressed when the button is pushed to release the pin.

  • Patent number: 7425189
Abstract: The present invention relates to a standup exercise apparatus that simulates downhill skiing with arm exercise. More particularly, the present invention relates to an exercise machine having separately supported pedals for the feet and arm exercise coordinated with the motion of the feet. Each pedal follows an separate elongate curve with lateral movement. As one pedal moves downward on the inside portion of one pedal curve, the other pedal moves sideways upward following the outer portion of the other pedal curve. A pair of cranks rotate in opposite directions when driven by the pedal movement. The orientation of the pedal curves is adjustable to exercise leg muscles differently. Arm exercise is coordinated with the foot pedal movements.

  • Patent number: 7361128
Abstract: An exercising apparatus has a front frame, a rear frame and a seat assembly. The rear frame is connected to the front frame and the seat assembly is mounted pivotally between the front frame and the rear frame. The seat assembly has a seat back, a seat, a leg holder, a front connecting rod and a lower connecting rod. When a user is in an inverted position, the user's body is stretched and pressure on the spine can be eliminated. With the relative movement between the seat back and the seat and the relative movement between the seat and the leg holder, the torso and femoral muscles of the user can be fully exercised.
