  • Patent number: 11596732
Abstract: A method of dispensing fluid includes three processes. A first one of these processes includes pumping fluid into a resilient variable-volume dispensing chamber. The dispensing chamber is in series with a normally present finite fluid impedance and an output. The impedance is sufficient so as to cause expansion of the dispensing chamber as it receives pumped fluid even while some fluid flows through the output. Another one of these processes includes repeatedly measuring a parameter related to volume of the dispensing chamber over time. A third one of these processes includes controlling the pumping of fluid based on repeated measurements of the parameter to produce a desired fluid flow through the output. A corresponding system for dispensing fluid implements these processes.

  • Patent number: 11587336
Abstract: A gaze target detector includes a line-of-sight detector, a relative speed data acquiring unit, a relative position data acquiring unit, a curvature calculator, a threshold adjuster, and a gaze determination unit. The line-of-sight detector detects the line of sight of an occupant in a vehicle. The relative speed data acquiring unit acquires a relative speed between the vehicle and a gaze target at which the occupant is gazing. The relative position data acquiring unit acquires a relative position between the vehicle and the gaze target. The curvature calculator calculates the curvature of a traveling track of the vehicle. The threshold adjuster adjusts a threshold based on at least one of the relative speed, the relative position, or the curvature. The threshold is used to determine the gaze target. The gaze determination unit determines the gaze target as a gaze event based on the threshold adjusted.

  • Patent number: 11565043
Abstract: Disclosed are a system, methods and computer-readable medium products that provide safety constraints for an insulin-delivery management program. Various examples provide safety constraints for a control algorithm-based drug delivery system that provides automatic delivery of a drug based on sensor input. Glucose measurement values may be received at regular time intervals from a sensor. A processor may predict future glucose values based on prior glucose measurement values. The safety constraints assist in safe operation of the drug delivery system during various operational scenarios. In some examples, predicted future glucose values may be used to implement safety constraints that mitigate under-delivery or over-delivery of the drug while not overly burdening the user of the drug delivery system and without sacrificing performance of the drug delivery system. Other safety constraints are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11562649
Abstract: A facility for providing vehicle to vehicle event notification for connected and/or unconnected vehicles is disclosed. The facility enables a vehicle to detect an occurrence of a vehicle status trigger event and identify information describing an event type. The facility determines a priority of the vehicle status event based at least in part on the type of the vehicle status event. When the vehicle status event is to be reported to at least one other vehicle, the facility enables the vehicle to generate a vehicle status event message that includes the priority of the vehicle status event and at least a portion of the information describing the type of the vehicle status event. The vehicle status event message is then transmitted/broadcasted to at least one other vehicle.
