  • Patent number: 6050878
Abstract: A processing jig is provided for deforming an object to be processed that is long in one direction into a complicated shape and processing the object with accuracy. The jig comprises: a main body to be fixed to the processing apparatus; a retainer that is long in one direction for retaining a bar as the object long in one direction; four couplers for coupling the retainer and the main body to each other; three load application sections, coupled to the retainer, to which a load is applied for deforming the retainer; and arms for coupling the load application sections to the retainer. The retainer takes a shape of a narrow and long beam that is bent with an application of external force. The two load application sections on both ends each have three degrees of freedom in two directions orthogonal to each other and a direction of rotation, for example. The load application section in the middle has one degree of freedom in the vertical direction only.

  • Patent number: 6035504
Abstract: The application relates to a device for folding the edges of roof cutouts for motor vehicle sliding roofs in which the coachwork has an outer (1) and an inner (3) panel, each with an upwardly projecting flange (2, 4) limiting the roof cutout and the flange of the outer panel is wider than that of the inner panel. In a device for folding the edges of the cutout for sliding roofs, there is a fold bed (5) as the support for the outer panel and the inner panel arranged thereon, an abutment (8) on the side of the roof cutout for the flange of the outer panel and the flange of the inner panel bearing thereon, a filler slide (9) arranged above the fold bed and movable against the abutment or the flange and a multi-component folding slide, the folding slide components (14, 16) of which can be moved both parallel and perpendicularly to the plane of the roof cutout, and have folding strips (19) to engage and fold the section of the flange of the outer panel projecting beyond the flange of the inner panel.

  • Patent number: 6022008
Abstract: A door-hanging jack for adjustably supporting doors in door openings while installing doors in building structures. The jack structure has a generally triangular base with a pivoted rectangular framework secured to the top and has a structural angle shaped door-supporting member on one side overlying one edge of the triangular base. A threaded member at an apex of the triangle provides movement of the door supporting member through the interaction of a female threaded member having foot engageable handles.

  • Patent number: 6007051
Abstract: A wiring tool for wire ducts disposed at a 90.degree. angle and having a plurality of teeth forming the side walls, the wiring tool comprising a pair of flat bars joined to form a 90.degree. angle with a riser portion extending upwardly from the juncture of the bars and elastomer strap fastened to the distal ends of the bars to hold the wiring tool at the juncture of wiring ducts to facilitate placing a bundle of wires in the ducts and bending the bundle 90.degree. in the ducts without damaging or removing teeth adjacent the juncture of the ducts.

  • Patent number: 5992824
Abstract: A jack for raising automotive equipment, particularly heavy equipment such as truck tractors and trailers. The jack includes a heavy duty ram on an extended base. The base is mobile, but includes at least one vertically movable wheel. The movable wheel is engaged to retract into the base to provide a stable, non-moving platform. The top of the ram is provided with a readily removable extended platform which is shaped to be extendible between the frame of the automotive equipment and any springs, particularly leaf springs on the equipment. Convenient safety arrangements to prevent the jack from dropping are provided to provide positive mechanical engagement between the jack and its base.

  • Patent number: 5933936
Abstract: A safety vise for collection and disposal of used hypodermic needles, having an associated disinfecting apparatus which is operably coupled to a viseing mechanism to prevent its subsequent use unless a disinfecting operation using the disinfecting apparatus is performed. The safety vise is primarily intended for reclaiming the sleeve of a pistonless blood collection system, like VACUTAINER.RTM. assemblies, assembled from three independent sections: a sleeve, a specimen tube, and a double-ended needle. A disposable, needle collection container seats a project top. The project top includes a first station having guard elements particularly structured for safely removing a double-ended needle, and a second station for disinfecting the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5887494
Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing, a channel (51) within the housing, and a plurality of spur gears (55b, 56, 57, 58) disposed within the channel and in gear meshing engagement. A first one (58) of the plurality of spur gears protrudes from the housing. First and second meshing bevel gears (54, 55a) impart rotation to the plurality of spur gears. The first bevel gear (55a) is rotatable about an axis coaxial with a second one (55b) of the plurality of spur gears. The first bevel gear (55a) is fixed for rotation with the second spur gear (55b). The second bevel gear (54) has a drive connection (60) which, when rotated, causes rotation of the plurality of spur gears by rotating the first and second bevel gears.
