  • Patent number: 10497397
Abstract: A method, system and computer readable media are provided to generate short video notes (v-notes) from one or more videos. A series of inputs including playback commands from a user is received. By utilizing a machine learning system, the received inputs can be analyzed for video content to identify which portions are of importance. A customized v-note, smaller in size than the one or more videos, may be generated by aggregating the identified portions of video content from the one or more videos, wherein the v-note is customized to the user, based upon received inputs from the user.

  • Patent number: 10490226
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media described herein may facilitate the detection and use of stitch points during trickplay navigation of a content stream. A multimedia device may automatically detect stitch points in a transport stream based upon PTS (presentation time stamp) discontinuities. The multimedia device may generate a slot table that organizes the frames of a piece of content into segments having sequential or linear PTS values. The multimedia device may compare a target PTS to the various PTS ranges of the slot table to identify a region to be searched for a metadata index associated with the target PTS. Once the target PTS is mapped to the appropriate metadata index, the multimedia device may fetch the appropriate frame for presentation.

  • Patent number: 10462410
Abstract: Systems and methods for re-recording content associated with popularity that re-emerged are provided. A plurality of media assets is recorded. Responsive to determining that popularity of a given one of the plurality of media assets fell below a first threshold, the given media asset is selected for deletion and the given media asset is added to a list of a plurality of media assets that have been selected for deletion. Popularity for the given media asset in the list is retrieved after selecting the given media asset for deletion. The retrieved popularity of the given media asset, which previously fell below the first threshold, is compared to a second threshold. In response to determining that the retrieved popularity of the given media asset, which previously fell below the first threshold, is now above the second threshold, an action relating to re-recording the given media asset is performed.

  • Patent number: 10453492
Abstract: The present invention pertains to an apparatus and method for adding a graphic element, such as a subtitle to selected locations of the frames in a 3D movie. The authoring tool receives a depth map indicating the position of various objects in the frames of 3D content along a Z-axis. The authoring device then designates a position for at least one additional graphic element in at least some of the frames, these positions being determined in relation either to the positions of the objects or the position of the screen along said Z-axis. An encoder uses parameters from the authoring tool to reauthor the 3D movie by adding the graphic content to the positions designated by the parameters.

  • Patent number: 10446189
Abstract: A user device provides a user interface for video manipulation with face replacement. The user device accesses a source video including a group of frames and one or more faces. The user device also provides a set of stickers with alternate face graphics. Upon receiving selection of one of the stickers, one of the faces and one of the frames that includes the face from a user, the user device accesses a face frame sequence. The face frame sequence is a sequence of frames including the selected frame. And each frame of the face frame sequence includes the selected face. The user device sends to a server a request to replace the selected face with the selected sticker in the frame sequence and receives a manipulated video in response to the request, where the selected face is replaced with the selected sticker in each frame of the frame sequence.
