  • Patent number: 10124812
Abstract: An in-vehicle alert apparatus includes a camera sensor, a radar sensor, a display unit, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit specifies a position and a relative speed of an object by selectively using any of a fusion method and a camera-alone method. The electronic control unit extracts an obstacle and calculates a margin time period in which the obstacle reaches a tip end region of a host vehicle. The electronic control unit displays an alert screen that guides driver's line of sight in a direction of the obstacle having the margin time period less than or equal to a threshold. The electronic control unit prohibits display of a new alert screen while a first predetermined time period elapses from switching to the camera-alone method, and while a second predetermined time period elapses from switching to the fusion method.

  • Patent number: 10097955
Abstract: A location-based and preference-based system and method for matching media content about persons, places and things with the expressed preferences of mobile users to notify users about and provide users with access to media content about persons, places and things that match the user's expressed preferences. The system thus provides information such as stories or articles that match the user's interests and relate to their location. The system may assign ranks to all of the media content that meets that user's preferences wherein, in one embodiment, it will automatically play them in the assigned order. Comparison of the user's preferences with the various profiles of the media content allows the user only to be informed of the media content for those persons, places or things that the user is likely to be interested in. The system and method thus provides for a mobile real-time point of interest exchange network.

  • Patent number: 10083605
Abstract: The invention regards a method and a system for assisting a driver in driving a vehicle, as well as a vehicle with such system being mounted thereon. Information on an environment of a vehicle is obtained by sensing the environment. Furthermore, information on applicable traffic rules is obtained. A request from a driver is determined from sensing at least one of a driver's utterance, gestures, gaze and operation of vehicle control. The traffic scene as sensed is assessed on the basis of the environmental information, the applicable traffic rules and the determined driver request. Information as requested to be output is generated in response to the determined request of the driver. Finally the information in response to the request from the driver is output.

  • Patent number: 10058485
Abstract: A holder (12) for checking non-compliance of a blister package has a pocket (60) into which the blister package is inserted. The front of the pocket is a transparent plate (128). Rectangular openings of wells (133) in the front face of the box (121) are positioned behind the blisters of the blister package. Each well contains light-sensitive elements (134). Non-compliance occurs when a blister of a used blister package is in an unopened condition. The sensing elements (134) detect this by ambient light in the pocket not reaching the elements. An electrical circuit in the box (121) monitors the elements (134) and provides a signal indicating a non-compliance condition if a blister in the returned package is unopened. Information identifying the unopened blister is stored in the circuit. A variable light source can be provided.
