  • Patent number: 9736790
Abstract: A self-calibrating transceiver includes a transmitter chain, a receiver chain, a base band processor, and a calibration control state machine. The state machine is in electrical communication with the transmitter chain, the receiver chain, and the base band processor, and is configured for enabling the receiver chain and setting the receiver chain and the transmitter chain to corresponding frequencies. The state machine stores one or more transmitter power and power amplifier gain mode settings, and for each setting, sets the transmitter gain and power amplifier gain mode. The transmitter chain transmits a signal, the receiver chain receives the transmitted signal, and the baseband processor measures a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the received signal. The state machine further adjusts the transmitter output power based on the measured RSSI.

  • Patent number: 9717059
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a power control method and apparatus, relate to the field of wireless communications, and are invented for reducing power pressure of an air interface of a base station and ensuring a stable network environment. The method includes: determining whether received total wideband power (RTWP) of an air interface exceeds a set first congestion threshold value; when the RTWP of the air interface exceeds the set first congestion threshold value, sending a congestion indication to a radio network controller (RNC), where the congestion indication is used for indicating that the RNC is forbidden from up-regulating a target signal-to-interference ratio (SIR); receiving a target SIR sent by the RNC; down-regulating the target SIR sent by the RNC; and notifying, based on the down-regulated target SIR, a user equipment (UE) to reduce transmit power. The present invention is mainly applied to the field of power control.

  • Patent number: 9705634
Abstract: The system of the present invention allows a user to select one or multiple SATCOM radio and antenna equipment types, select their current location(s) or a route and select the UHF SATCOM satellite for a multi-user communication network or architecture. The system presents an assessment of the level of performance of the selected system equipment and provides a capability to assess the impact of degrading factors, such as man-made interference (jamming) and natural phenomena (e.g. rain, clouds, ionospheric scintillation). This predictive assessment is a tailored result showing the phenomenology effects. Natural phenomenology like ionospheric scintillation, clouds, and precipitation, plus man-made phenomenologies like SATCOM jammers need to be differentiated by behavior characteristics and performance on a SATCOM frequency. If the system assessment determines the communication link is weak or ineffective based off the user's inputs, the application provides the ability to select alternative configurations, e.

  • Patent number: 9699672
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for establishing a correspondence between a sector of a base station and an antenna, a base station, and an antenna. The base station (or the antenna) generates a modulation signal, and a radio frequency port corresponding to the antenna (or the base station) can receive the modulation signal. Then, the base station determines that there is a correspondence between a radio frequency port that is on the base station side and that sends the modulation signal and a radio frequency port that is on the antenna side and that receives the modulation signal. Therefore, the base station establishes a correspondence between a sector and the antenna, which is highly efficient and highly accurate in comparison with a manual recording manner.

  • Patent number: 9693317
Abstract: A configuration method for transmitting TPC command, a TPC command transmission method, and an apparatus. In the present invention, a radio network controller sends indication information to a terminal and a serving base station of the terminal to indicate a sending timeslot of an uplink TPC command of the terminal, so that sending timeslots of different TPC commands can be indicated for different terminals, and uplink TPC commands of multiple terminals are staggered in a timeslot. In this way, even if F-DPCHs of multiple terminals are configured with a same timeslot format, it can be avoided that locations of the uplink TPC commands are the same, and further a TPC peak-to-average ratio is lower than that in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 9686755
Abstract: At a base station, a table is prepared that for each index value among multiple different index values, associates repetition counts of different channels correlated with each other. The base station acquires reception information indicating a reception state of a wireless signal at a mobile station, determines a repetition count for each channel based on the reception information, and acquires from the table, an index value corresponding to the respective repetition counts for the channels. The base station transmits to the mobile station, a wireless signal that includes the index value to notify the mobile station of the index value. The mobile station has a table that for each index value among different index values, associates repetition counts of different channels correlated with each other and acquires the repetition counts of the channels from the table, based on the index value from the base station.

  • Patent number: 9681395
Abstract: A link-budget-limited wireless communication device (UE) may implement improved radio link monitoring procedures for enhancing the link-budget of the UE. The UE may monitor the radio link and may determine whether the radio link can support a lowest acceptable link quality according to a hysteresis-based comparison that uses threshold values to determine error rates associated with a physical control channel. The UE may also identify itself to the network as a link-budget-limited device, and the network may enable special link-budget enhancing features for the UE, including boosting the power of the resource elements (REs) carrying physical channel signaling/data to the UE. The UE may detect the presence of power boost and may estimate/determine the power boost level.

  • Patent number: 9667286
Abstract: A filter system that filters WCS signals received by a satellite radio antenna if the WCS signals have a high enough signal strength where they could overwhelm the satellite radio signals and prevent the satellite radio from operating. The filter system includes a coupling circuit that couples off a small portion of the signal received by the antenna and sends it to a detector that detects the signal strength of the coupled off portion of the signal. If the signal strength exceeds a predetermined threshold, the detector provides a control signal to a switch that directs the signal received by the antenna to a WCS filter to filter out the WCS signals, where the switch otherwise causes the signal received by the antenna to be sent directly to the radio.
