    Abstract: In a straightening or truing operation for straightening out of true work pieces the characteristic fatigue strength or an increased fatigue strength achieved in a previous strengthening operation of the work piece to be straightened, is maintained. This is achieved by a truing operation, wherein locally bounded compressive residual stresses are induced in a surface layer zone of the work piece by a hardening operation, whereby the respective out of true deformation of the work piece is at least reduced. The truing operation may then be repeated until the out of true deformation is eliminated. The compressive residual forces are induced in a surface layer zone of the work piece by a locally bounded hardening operation or a strengthening rolling operation. By appropriately varying the extent of hardening or the rolling force respectively, the magnitude and angle of any out of true deformation may be affected so as to be even completely eliminated, for example.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a hinge for use in a door of a motorized vehicle. The hinge includes a first part rigidly connected to a frame of the vehicle and a second part rigidly connected to the door. The first and second parts of the hinge are both connected to a hinge pin which enables the second part to be rotatable relative to the first part upon opening and closing of the door. A compressible spring mechanism is rigidly connected to the first part and engagable against the second such that upon swinging of the door the spring is compressed. The second part includes two wheels such that the spring mechanism engages one of the wheels when the door is closed, it engages both of the wheels in a door position when the door is partially open, and engages the other detent wheel when the door is fully open.

    Abstract: A cushioned stop member is provided for attachment to a sliding panel for limiting movement of that panel relative to opposed abutment surfaces on a similar panel; this allows a series of sliding panels to be used in self aligning manner. The stop member has a base part with a flat surface suitable for securement to a flat surface of the sliding panel and retaining elements projecting outwardly from the base part. These retaining elements hold a resilient cushioning member which is an interference fit on the retaining elements and which has opposed side surfaces which can engage on the opposed abutment surfaces of the other panel in a cushioned manner.

A series of channels on the bottom of the mounting device extend the length of the mounting device. The cord guides can be moved to the desired locations on the mounting device and secured in place. The mounting device is attached to the wall with brackets into which the ends of the mounting device are seated.

The crankshaft adapters themselves contain an aperture designed to fit the gear of a variety of window operator crankshafts. The handles may conveniently be supplied in the form of a package kit which includes a series of different size adapters, together with the hubs, allowing a correctly sized adapter to be selectively fitted to a particular window. The adapter is installed in the handle and the handle affixed to the crankshaft of the window operator where it can be operated without interfering with window accessories such as curtains, drapes, blinds and the like.

The door holding rod is freely swivelably mounted on a carrier member by means of a clinch bolt or a screw bolt. A spring load is applied to the door holding rod in axial direction of the swivel bearing of the door holding rod. The clinch bolt or screw bolt is mounted secured against rotation in the opening of the carrier member. The clinch bolt or screw bolt additionally has a knurled profiling in engagement with the opening of the door holding rod.

A slide member is carried by the window regulator arm and slidably engages with the guide channel to enable pivoting and sliding of the regulator arm along the door inner panel.

    Abstract: A universal handle for household and other hand-held implements, the handle being adapted to ergonomically render the implement to which it is applied useable by individuals who have diffculty in firmly grasping a conventional handle. The universal handle, which is fabricated of elastomeric material having good thermal isulation and cushioning properties, includes an internal cavity to socket the core shank of the implement. The handle has an ellipticl cross section, the opposing sides of the handle adjacent its upper end each having a concave depression, in each of which an array of spaced, flexible fins is anchored to define a depressible grip site. When the fingers of a user's hand are clenched about the handle, the internal region of the resultant fist conforms to the form of the handle to provide a good grip thereon, the thumb and forefinger pressing into the grip sites to enhance the user's grip on the handle.
