  • Patent number: 4682637
Abstract: A high-speed wire fence weaving apparatus for making wire mesh fencing. The apparatus provides a first stage where a high-speed transfer mechanism moves large spools of wrap wire in a weaving pattern about a plurality of strand wires. The strand wires and wrap wires are pulled from the first stage to a second stage which is relatively remotely spaced from the first stage to permit the wires to be guided into a more closely confined relation to one another. The second stage also has a transfer mechanism which moves in synchronism with the first transfer mechanism to weave the wrap wires between and around the strand wires to produce a diamond-mesh pattern. Thereafter, the mesh is pulled to a take-up location by the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4681000
Abstract: Method for cutting food materials having predetermined depths defined by a proximal surface and a remote surface, into a desired, continuous, closed configuration. A food material is selected having a predetermined depth. The desired configuration is cut into the food material by inserting therein at the proximal surface blade means having a cutting edge defining at least the exterior outline of the desired, continuous, closed configuration, while maintaining the cutting edge of the inserted blade means spaced from the remote end of the food material. The blade means is then removed from the food material while leaving the cut configuration substantially intact in the food material. Removal from the food material of the desired cut configuration when the blade means is removed is prevented by avoiding excessive compression of the food material when the blade means is inserted in the food material.

  • Patent number: 4676050
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for transporting flexible foil packages, particularly flat bags (6, 8, 13) filled with unstabilized material to a package container (1). The flat bags (6, 8, 13) deposited flat and with uniformly distributed contents by a filling and closing machine upon a transport belt are first of all imbricated and maintained clamped on both sides during further transport into the package container, so that the uniform distribution of the contents is maintained into the container. A close filling of the container (1) without excessive pressure is ensured by this means. Because the flat bags are conveyed from the conveying path directly into the container without an intermediate magazine, containers of different size can be filled consecutively virtually without interrupting the conveyance.

  • Patent number: 4664569
Abstract: In order to increase the working range of existing designs of gear cutting machines upon which gear teeth based upon an extended epicycloid are cut according to the continuous gear-cutting process, the workpiece and cutter spindles of a gear cutting machine are driven in identical directions of rotation by a reversing drive train. A reversible auxiliary drive is connected to an end of a primary drive train remote from a main drive for maintaining the primary drive train interconnecting the workpiece and cutter spindles under constant load, i.e. for suppressing backlash in the primary drive train. This permits the practical fabrication of gears (i.e. the practical cutting of gear teeth) based upon a hypocycloid instead of an epicycloid.
