  • Patent number: 4616469
Abstract: A method for producing a package to receive a ring (7) of reeled wire, tube or the like cut to a predetermined length, especially an electrical line (8). The ring (7) is introduced between two substantially square panels of rigid material, e.g. cardboard or the like, with the center axis of the ring running perpendicular to the panels. A substantially tubular rigid means (10) is after introduced through both panels and the center opening of the ring (7) and is thereafter locked in the introduced position in relation to the ring (7) well as the panels. The package can be used as a reel by removing a protective shell of the package. As an alternative said tubular rigid means can be removed, whereby the line or the like is removed from the center of the package.

  • Patent number: 4614077
Abstract: An automatic tightening method comprises the steps of transferring a torque, generated in a driving section for a screw cap through a power transmission joint section to a container, thereby screw-tightening the screw cap in a tightening apparatus for screw-tightening the screw cap by a rotational torque from the driving section, detecting a tightening torque applied to the container, adjusting the driving section or the power transmission joint section when the tightening torque reaches a predetermined tightening torque, and holding the predetermined tightening torque for a predetermined period of time, thereby obtaining the predetermined tightening torque irrespective of the transmitted rotation torque. Also, an apparatus for carrying out the method is disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 4612755
Abstract: A device and method for laminating a barrier film to a blister pack utilizing a two-cycle, reciprocatory carriage assembly. The carriage assembly includes a tray upon which the blister pack is placed and reciprocated in and out of the device housing. During one cycle, the barrier film is prevented from contacting the blister pack by means of a pair of rollers which back the film away from the blister pack a predetermined distance. During the other cycle, the rollers advance the barrier film toward and in contact with the blister pack to apply the film. In addition, the rollers apply pressure through the film and blister pack against preselected pressure or bonding areas associated with the tray sufficient to bond the film to the pack. Different types of blister packs may be laminated by the device by changing the tray to include the necessary pressure or bonding areas.

  • Patent number: 4610124
Abstract: A number of elongate articles such as slide fasteners are placed on a length of a band web supplied on a bundle tray. Free and opposite ends of the length of the band web are gripped by a gripper mechanism with the length surrounding the elongate articles. End portions of the length are then ultrasonically fused together by an ultrasonic horn and an anvil. The opposite end of the length as it is gripped by the gripper mechanism is cut off by a cutter mechanism to form a band bundling the elongate articles. The elongate articles bundled by the band are then discharged by the bundle tray.

  • Patent number: 4606176
Abstract: A bale-sheathing device is provided for placing a tubular plastics sheath around bales of straw, grass, hay or silage, in order to facilitate chemical treatment of the latter. The bale-sheathing device includes a mobile sheath-carrying structure for supporting and holding open an axially closed-up portion of the sheath in a manner enabling this closed-up portion to be progressively pulled out rearwardly off the sheath-carrying structure. The sheath-carrying structure is forwardly provided with means, such as a pair of inclined guides, for lifting up a bale to be sheathed and guiding it through the closed-up portion of the sheath as the device is advanced. The bale-sheathng device enables a sheath to be passed around each successive bale of a row of juxtaposed bales without having to drag the bale over the sheath or the sheath under the bales.

  • Patent number: 4599847
Abstract: In wrapping machinery for wrapping articles in heat sealable plastic film, a web of film is drawn from a supply roll and is severed by pulling the film under tension downwardly onto the narrow edge of a thermal cut-off device, which may be a heated rod or blade, to melt the film material along a thin transverse line and to permit severance thereof by pulling. Following severance of the film, the film-wrapped package is sealed by placing the package on a pedestal hot plate. The temperature of the hot plate is higher than that of the thermal cut-off device used to sever the film. The hot plate is supplied by electrical energy from a single source through a temperature sensor and control. The thermal cut-off device obtains its heat by conduction from the hot plate.

  • Patent number: 4598528
Abstract: The invention provides the combination of a dispenser and a series of incontinent or catamenial pads that are connected by easily severably areas. These pads may be rolled without harmful effects to the pad. The rolled pads that are connected by severably means are suitable for combination with a dispensing container that allows them to be withdrawn a single pad at a time.In a particularly preferred embodiment an incontinent pad having elasticized edges and double baffle is connected in series by severably portions at the ends. The pad is placed into a generally cubical box and withdrawn either from the center of the roll at the top of the box or from the end of the roll at the side of the box. The container is provided with a removable section at either the top or side for the withdrawal of pads.

  • Patent number: 4594836
Abstract: A transportable bagging apparatus for continual, sequential loading of individual bales of agricultural products such as grass, alfalfa, corn stalks, hay, etc., into plastic tubing. The apparatus can be towed by an ordinary farm tractor or other vehicle, and can be loaded with any fork-type bale carrier or loader. A removably mounted bracket delivers plastic tubing from a roll over one of opposite open ends of a vertically positioned, pivotally mounted drum on the apparatus. When the entire roll of plastic tubing is gathered over the drum outer surface and tied over one of the drum's opposite open ends, the drum is then pivoted to a horizontal operating position with the opposite open end facing a bale engaged by a carriage. The engaged bale activates a hydraulic cylinder to force a telescoping ram against the opposite face of the carriage. This causes the engaged bale to enter the drum and load into the plastic tubing.
