  • Patent number: 6959496
Abstract: A barbeque fork comprises a base or handle, tines, biasing rod, at least one guide for supporting and sliding the rod and a cross-brace or bracket, wherein the rod is supported over and along the top surface of the handle by preferably two guides, the guides projecting outward from the handle and each defining apertures for receiving and guiding the rod when sliding it over the handle. One end of the rod is terminated by a stop or cap that prevents the rod from passing completely through the guides. The cross-brace is diametrically positioned at the opposite end of the rod and engages the food items when the rod is slid forward to support or remove the food items. In an alternative embodiment, the barbeque fork includes a thermometer device for reading the temperature of food items.

  • Patent number: 6951056
Abstract: An inner cutter for a dry shaver has a plurality of blades 30 supported on a base 20 and is driven in hair-shearing engagement with an outer cutter 10 for cutting the hairs. The blades 30 are arranged in parallel with each other and are each provided on opposite sides at its top with cutting edges 32. The cutting edge 32 is defined between the top face of the blade and a rake fade 33 on the underside of the blade. The rake face 33 is inclined with respect to the top face at an angle of ? (°), while the cutting edge is rounded at its tip to have a curvature radius R (?m) which satisfies a relation that R??0.067·?+4.7. With this result, the cutting resistance for cutting the hair can be lowered below a load necessary for bending the hair. Thus, the blade of the inner cutter can itself cut the hair without bending the hair, giving a flat cutting plane finish and enabling a close shave only with a fewer shaving strokes.

  • Patent number: 6944959
Abstract: A saw blade clamping arrangement for a power tool includes a clamp support, a biasing member and an actuation member. The clamp support is interconnected with the drive shaft for reciprocating motion with the drive shaft relative to a housing of the power tool. The clamp support is configured to selectively receive a saw blade of the power tool in various orientations. A release lever is carried by the housing and is manually rotated to move a control member between a first position in which the saw blade is coupled to the drive shaft and a second position in which the saw blade may be displaced from the drive shaft. In at least one of the orientations, the saw blade is positioned offset from the drive shaft and proximate one of the side walls of the tool housing to allow for flush cutting of a work piece.

  • Patent number: 6941661
Abstract: A biasing system for the blade of a folding knife includes one component or assembly applying a force tending to move the knife blade from a closed position, nested in the handle, to an open position, extending from the handle. A second component or assembly resists opening of the blade, particularly when the blade is in or near the closed position. The resisting force is overcome by the opening force after the blade has been moved through a predetermined angle relative to the handle, so that the blade then opens automatically. A safety can be actuated to block opening and/or closing of the blade. The blade can have a blunt projection upon which a user may press to move the blade through the predetermined opening angle. A clip can be provided for convenient attachment of the folding knife to an object such as a garment.

  • Patent number: 6938347
Abstract: The invention relates to shears comprising a stationary blade (1) and a movable blade (2) which moves during the shearing movement of the shears. An operating mechanism (5) is arranged to affect a point of the pin (6) located at a distance from the movable blade (2). When the shears are being closed, a force is thus generated which also tries to pull the movable blade (2) towards and against the stationary blade (1) and to keep the blades (1, 2) in contact with each other. The operating mechanism (5) is arranged to affect the joint pin (6) through a sleeve-like part (7). The interior of the sleeve comprises two conical sections (8, 9), the narrowest point of the interior of the sleeve determining the point from which the sleeve-like part (7) affects the joint pin (6).

  • Patent number: 6925717
Abstract: The present invention is industrial scissors and a method of manufacturing and using same including first and second scissor halves, each half having a blade, a handle, and first and second major opposed surfaces. Each blade has a first edge that is relatively thick and blunt tapered to a second edge that is sharp to form a cutting edge. Serrations are formed in the cutting edge of the blade having larger radii between the pivot point and the midpoint of the blade and smaller serrations between the midpoint of the blade and the tip of the blade to provide a gripping surface for preventing an object being cut from sliding down the blade toward the tip of the blade while cutting the object. Wire strippers are positioned between the handle and the pivot point of the scissors. A deburring surface is made from a plurality of filing grooves spaced transversely along the blunt side of the blade.

  • Patent number: 6922898
Abstract: A tool for cutting drywall bead that has a shaped cross section and requires cutting to length with both straight and angled cuts. The tool includes a base with a first handle attached thereto and a second handle pivotably attached to the base, and a blade with a cutting edge movably engages the base. An anvil pivotably attaches to the base and may be rotated to a chosen angle relative to the blade, and the anvil has a shaped upper surface which complimentarily engages the shaped cross section of the drywall bead. A mechanical linkage forces the cutting edge of the blade towards the anvil when the second handle is biased towards the first handle such that a drywall bead positioned over the anvil is cut at a desired angle.
