  • Patent number: 7272155
Abstract: A link-sharing classification hierarchy is described, characterizing network traffic at a high level both to allow measurements of network traffic to be aggregated according classifications in the hierarchy and to describe a policy for network quality of service. Policy templates allow network quality-of-service policies to be re-used across multiple links. Policy alarms can be raised by quality-of-service devices when a policy is violated. An XML API allows applications to manage a central repository of policies.

  • Patent number: 7272124
Abstract: A method and system for using power and timing estimates to acquire frame acquisition of a reverse CDMA carrier signal. The method includes providing at least one remote transceiver device acquiring a forward CDMA carrier signal, and the one remote transceiver device transmitting a reverse CDMA carrier signal modified to include a frequency associated with the forward CDMA carrier signal. A transceiver base station, in response to determining if the reverse CDMA carrier signal exceeds a reverse CDMA carrier signal threshold (RCCST), uses the frequency embedded in the modified reverse CDMA carrier signal to acquire phase of the reverse CDMA carrier signal. Achieving acquisition the transceiver base station signals a mode change to the remote transceiver. Otherwise, the transceiver base station signals the remote transceiver device to slip the reverse CDMA carrier signal a predetermined number of chips; and/or transmit the reverse CDMA carrier signal at a second power level.

  • Patent number: 7269180
Abstract: A system is provided for prioritizing and queuing traffic from a plurality of data streams. The system includes a queuing structure, processing circuitry, and a search engine. The queuing structure has a plurality of queues. The search engine is implemented on the processing circuitry and is configured to search and edit the queues in order to manage traffic at a given instance in time by traversing each of the queues in a predetermined manner to identify and remove eligible entries from each queue that need to be transmitted. The traffic was previously classified as to type and traffic elements were previously loaded onto selected queues with other traffic elements having a similar traffic type. A method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7266083
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing queue pair connection protection over an interconnect network, such as InfiniBand. A message packet is received for a queue pair (QP) and the QP is checked for an imminent connection failure. Responsive to identifying an imminent connection failure, a special message processing mode is established for the QP. After the special message processing mode is established, packets of the message are received without establishing a message queue entry and without storing packet data.

  • Patent number: 7254132
Abstract: In a wireless base station, when a newly provided control unit receives an IP packet from one mobile station (102), it refers to a destination address in control information added to the IP packet (104), and determines whether the IP packet is one to be broadcast or multicast (106). If the value of destination address is at a value indicative of broadcasting or the like defined by IP, the IP packet is copied according to the subnet, and is sent back to a wireless link layer processor with its contents intact (108). Further, the wireless link layer processor is commanded to broadcast the sent-back IP packet in a wireless area and so forth (110), whereby the IP packet can be broadcast into a cell and so forth.

  • Patent number: 7248592
Abstract: A circuit arrangement and method for interfacing a node and a data fabric. In a computing arrangement that includes a plurality of nodes intercoupled by the data fabric, each node is assigned to one of a plurality of partitions. A node-interface circuit is configured to interface with the source node, and a translation circuit translates data between a first format compatible with the nodes and a second format compatible with the data fabric. An access control circuit either enables or disables transmission of data from the source node based on whether the source and destination nodes are in the same partition.

  • Patent number: 7236498
Abstract: The method serves for calling a substation (USm) by a central station (Z) in a transmission system for the purposes of information transmission by way of a communication channel (m) called from a plurality of communication channels. The plurality of communication channels is subdivided into communication groups (GRI, GRII, GRIII) of the same property or the same parameter values. Within a selected communication group (GRII) a communication channel (m) is called, which is still communication-free. If all (n) communication channels of the communication group (GRII) are already busy, the central station (Z) goes into a waiting condition until at least one of the communication channels of the communication group (GRII) becomes communication-free.

  • Patent number: 7236496
Abstract: An Inifiniband (IB) network that incorporates a Fibre Channel (FC) network is disclosed. The IB and FC networks are coupled by a gateway that maps the FC network to a virtual IB network. In generating the virtual IB network, the gateway may provide a virtual IB target for each node port in the FC network, and may further provide a minimum number of virtual IB switches necessary to support the virtual IB targets. The gateway assigns a globally unique identifier (GUID) to each of the virtual IB targets, and may further associate local identifiers (LID) with the virtual IB targets. The gateway preferably emulates subnet management agents (SMA) and general service agents (GSA) of the virtual IB targets when management IB packets are received, and the gateway preferably converts non-management IB packets directed to the virtual IB targets into FC frames directed to the corresponding target FC devices.

  • Patent number: 7233579
Abstract: Described are a system and computer-implemented method for searching and updating a routing table for forwarding IP packets through a communications network. Records containing IP address prefixes are organized in a binary tree data structure. When inserting a new record, one of the records in the binary tree data structure is identified as an enclosing record having an associated record data range that encloses record data of the new record. An enclosing pointer of the new record is set to point to the identified enclosing record. When searching for a longest matching prefix for a destination IP address, the binary tree data structure is traversed and one of the records in the binary tree data structure is identified as an enclosing record, which is returned as the longest matching prefix.
