Abstract: In order to make it possible for almost all of wireless terminals to operate intermittently without generating any conflicts in communication, and thereby, to achieve lower power consumption and transmission/reception of data pertaining to a wireless terminal immediately after a return from its power save state with top priority, mobile stations other than a first mobile station may be put in their power save states, while a return timing from the power save state of each of the mobile stations is intentionally shifted by a base station so as not to overlap in time. In addition, the base station performs polling on a mobile station returned from its power save state is polled with top priority so that transmission/reception of data pertaining to the mobile station is carried out between the mobile station and the base station within a CFP.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for locating position of a mobile device in an assisted satellite positioning system is described. In one example, satellite measurement data is obtained from a plurality of satellites at a mobile device. Position of the mobile device is computed using the satellite measurement data. The position is sent to a cellular device via a wireless ad hoc network. In one example, the wireless ad hoc network comprises a BLUETOOTH communication link. In one example, the mobile device is configured to receive assistance data from a position server through the wireless ad hoc network. For example, the mobile device may comprise a housing configured to plug into a cigarette lighter connector of an automobile and the cellular device may comprise a cellular telephone without location-determination capabilities (i.e., the cellular telephone does not include an integrated GPS receiver).
Abstract: A packet radio data network and methods have been disclosed, the network comprising at least a gateway node (GGSN), at least one serving node (SGSN) connected to the gateway node, a plurality of radio access nodes (RAN) connected to the serving node (SGSN), the packet radio network transporting packet data from an external packet data network, comprising an Internet Service Provider (ISP), to mobile stations (MS) wirelessly attached to radio access nodes (RAN). The gateway node, subsequent to a PDP multipoint context activation procedure, establishes at least a first multicast tunnel (GTPT1 GTPT4, GTPT10 GTP35) between the gateway node and at least one serving node, the multicast tunnel carrying IP streams pertaining to at least two mobile stations belonging to a common multicast group.

Abstract: A communication system includes a plurality of channels, a first service that utilizes at least a first channel for transmission, and a second service that utilizes at least a second channel for transmission. Operating means are provided for operating the first service in connection with the second service, so that the first service can utilize the second channel. Adjusting means are provided for adjusting the utilization of the second channel by the second service at least during the connected operation of the first and the second service. The utilization of a channel whose capacity is essentially dynamically adjustable is facilitated by a service that, according to the pre-defined protocols, is directed to use a channel whose capacity is more statically adjustable.

Abstract: The information sharing method of the present invention is realized by an information sharing system that includes: first and second mobile terminals and an information sharing server. The first mobile terminal first reads, from a radio tag that is embedded in an information transmitting medium, positional information and an identification number of the information transmitting medium, and then transmits this information to the information sharing server. The information sharing server selects relevant information that shows detailed content of the information transmitting medium based on the identification number of the information transmitting medium that has been transmitted in from the first mobile terminal.
