  • Patent number: 4882593
Abstract: Image recording is indirectly achieved on a recording sheet via an intermediate transferring medium. First, the circumferential surface of a rotatable transferring medium having heat-transferable ink contained therein is fused or softened in response to image information by means of a recording electrode which is disposed at the position opposite to the transferring medium while the intermediate transferring medium is interposed therebetween. After completion of the first transferring step the ink image which has been transferred onto the intermediate transferring medium is transported to the position where a second transferring step is achieved while the ink image is kept in the fused or softened state. The second transferring step is achieved in such a manner that the ink image is transferred onto the recording sheet under the effect of pressure which is imparted by a pressure roller. The intermediate transferring medium may be made of electric conductive material.

  • Patent number: 4881133
Abstract: An arrangement for the recording of a digital information signal, in particular onto a plate-shaped, metallic recording carrier with the aid of a penetrating element is specified, in which the latter preferably has a pyramid shape with three side surfaces and three edges. The edge (6) forming the runner of the penetrating element lies, in its projection onto the recording carrier, in the direction of the velocity vector at the point of recording. The edge forms with the velocity vector an angle of >135.degree.. The projections of the two further edges onto the recording carrier lie perpendicular to the velocity vector. With the aid of such a penetrating element, an engraving of a digital signal is possible, which is read out by a laser beam.

  • Patent number: 4876440
Abstract: In order to increase the stability of a device comprising at least one electrode and a conductive polymer composition in contact therewith, the contact resistance between the electrode and the composition should be reduced. This can be achieved by contacting the molten polymer composition with the electrode while the electrode is at a temperature above the melting point of the composition. Preferably, the polymer composition is melt-extruded over the electrode or electrodes, as for example when extruding the composition over a pair of pre-heated wires.

  • Patent number: 4874930
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a heated laminated windshield construction. Initially, a transparent material to be provided as the outer layer of such a laminated windshield is selected. A transparent basecoat is applied on the inner major surface of the outer layer. A quantity of electroconductive metal is deposited onto the basecoated surface to form a metal strike coat. A portion of the metal strike coat is masked so that unmasked portions of the strike coat comprise the pattern of the electroconductive metal film runs to be formed on the inner major surface. An electroconductive metal is electroplated onto the unmasked portions of the strike coat.
