  • Patent number: 4767250
Abstract: An external electronic measuring apparatus 2 in which a sample book block 1 is clamped and the thickness is then determined as a displacement-dependent actual value. The apparatus further includes a microprocessor 20 in which the actual displacement value is evaluated, and is stored as a required value, and a control unit 19 for transmitting the required value to the actuators 44, 45, as an actuating variable. The measuring apparatus possesses a clamping device 8, 9 which can be driven by a motor, and which enables two or more actual displacement values to be determined, these values being functions of differing compressive forces which serve to hold the book blocks in the bookbinding machine 42. These actual displacement values are defined by switch arrangements 20, 38, 13, and 39, as pressure points P1, P2 . . . Pn, and are determined, as actual displacement values, by means of a displacement measuring facility 31-35, in a sequentially controlled procedure.

  • Patent number: 4766963
Abstract: A hand-held electrically powered hammer tool with a rotor-type electromotor (17) and a hammer mechanism (14) arranged in a machine housing (13). The hammer mechanism (14) includes a drive shaft (24) with an excentric crank pin (35) thereon for a piston rod (43) connected to a drive piston (40) reciprocably movable in a cylinder (42) for driving a hammer piston (41) towards a working tool (16) via an air cushion (44) between the two pistons. The drive shaft for the hammer mechanism (14) is also the rotor shaft of the electromotor (17) so that the hammer mechanism and the motor are driven by the same speed. The electromagnetically active parts (23,49) of the rotor (18) are located outside of and surround the corresponding parts (21, 22) of the electromotor stator (19) thus enabling the rotor also to be a flywheel and a fanwheel.

  • Patent number: 4766791
Abstract: A slicing apparatus particularly suitable for slicing livers. A plurality of adjacently spaced apart blades are mounted within a drum rotatable about the blades. The blades are disposed toward one side of the drum in close proximity to the peripheral wall thereof to form a cutting zone. Pockets are provided in the peripheral wall of the drum, the pockets being formed with gaps which align with the blades. As the drum and the pockets rotate through the cutting zone, the blades pass through the pockets and slice livers therein. The cutting zone is positioned in a lower quadrant of the drum and, with respect to the drum's rotational direction, immediately before lower dead-center thereof. Thus as a pocket enters the cutting zone it is being inverted and on exiting the cutting zone a pocket has been completely inverted. On exiting the cutting zone the sliced contents are deposited into a tray provided on a packaging tray conveyor positioned adjacently beneath the drum.

  • Patent number: 4766794
Abstract: A radial saw blade is formed of a flat disc having peripheral edge including circular peripheral portions and recessed stepped peripheral portions. The peripheral edge includes spaced apart, radially inwardly extending notches. Each notch has a flat, plate-like insert brazed to an L-shaped seat in the notch facing the direction of rotation. Each insert has cutting edges formed on side edges of the inserts which extend axially from both sides of the disc and on a crown edge extending radially from the peripheral edge of the disc. The side and crown edges each have beveled surfaces extending away from the direction of rotation to define a relief angle. A first set of the notches are positioned about the circular peripheral portion of the peripheral edge. The inserts in the first set of notches make the primary cut in both linear and non-linear passes.

  • Patent number: 4763733
Abstract: A hammer drill can be switched between combined rotary and impact operation and impact operation. An electropneumatic mechanism provides the impact force and includes a guide cylinder with a beveled gear wheel extending around the outside surface of the cylinder. The gear wheel is driven by a drive wheel. A coupling sleeve is mounted on the guide cylinder for rotation with it and is axially displaceable relative to the cylinder between a first position in meshed engagement with the gear wheel and a second position displaced out of meshed engagement. A switching device moves the coupling sleeve between the two positions. In the first position, the coupling sleeve rotates the guide cylinder, while in the second position the guide cylinder is locked against rotation. The switching device includes a control cam engaged within a groove extending in the circumferential direction of the outside surface of the guide cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4763930
Abstract: This invention relates to a transparent gummed label for small nail polish glass containers fitted with a cap-applicator, the label being formed of a pre-cut clear cellulose acetate sheet having translucent light colored printing over a major proportion of the back and the bar code printed on the front of the sheet. Specifically the left back side of the sheet is printed with a first light colored material identifying the supplier and the shade of the nail polish contents. Immediately adjacent thereto but on the front side there is a second printing of a white opaque background located on the right side which is a minor portion of the sheet and which is then overprinted with the opaque black Universal Product Code Bar Code and then with the Universal Product Numbers adjacent the Bar Code. The back side of the sheet is then coated with a clear pressure sensitive adhesive so that the label is then applied to a small glass container (1/2 fluid ounce) for nail polish.

  • Patent number: 4762261
Abstract: A computer aided riveting robot has a machine frame for movably mounting a work piece positioning support and riveting tool positioning carriers. A rectangular three-dimensional coordinate system is defined in the machine frame, whereby an x-y-plane (61) constitutes a reference plane. The machine frame extends upwardly from a machine base in the y-direction of the rectangular coordinate system. The work piece positioning support extends upwardly in the y-direction and supports a work piece so that its largest surface area extends approximately in an x-y-plane of the rectangular coordinate system. The work piece positioning support in turn is supported by guide rails for moving the work piece back and forth in the x-direction. Two riveting tool carriers are supported in the machine frame and hold two riveting tools for movement in the z-direction. The tool carriers extend in the y-direction and are so arranged that the work piece extends between the two tool carriers.

  • Patent number: 4762342
Abstract: A manifold form assembly has a front page and a back page, with each page having at least one image-receiving area disposed thereon. The original front page is disposed on one side of a first sheet and the original back page is disposed on the other side of the first sheet. The first sheet is movable between a first position in which the original front page is exposed for completion and a second position in which the original back page is exposed for completion. A pressure sensitive image-transferring system is provided integral with the assembly to transfer pressure-created images formed on the front and back page image-receiving areas. Duplicate front and back pages receive images transferred by the image-transferring system. A stub connects the original pages, the image-transferring system, and the duplicate pages into an integral form assembly. In one embodiment, a set of carbons transfer the pressure-created images from the original front sheet to the duplicate front sheets.
