Abstract: A display management method and system of a mobile terminal that provides the user with indications of the currently running applications and activation and deactivation progresses of the applications. A first execution screen of a first application is displayed, and an input signal is detected for activating a second application. A second execution screen is displayed corresponding to the second application in response to the input signal. The second execution screen includes at least one of a first intermediate image obtained by downsizing an image contained within the first execution screen, a second intermediate image obtained by downsizing an image contained within the second execution screen, and a task window containing at least the downsized first and second intermediate images in a sequential order.

Abstract: A data processing technology provides improved convenience. A user interface unit assigns a first object to a data file and displays the object on a screen. The unit also assigns a second object to an application processing the data file and displaying the object on the screen. When an operation to allow the first object to affect the second object is accepted, a notifying unit notifies the application of the direction or speed of the operation. The operation determining unit determines an operation performed in processing the data file, based an the direction or speed.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium includes instructions stored thereon. When executed by at least one processor, the instructions may be configured to cause a computing system to at least generate a graphical user interface (GUI), receive selections of characters and directional input, and compare the selections of the characters and the directional input to a stored passcode combination. The GUI may include at least one face and a plurality of buttons inside the at least one face. At least some of the plurality of buttons may include characters in a random or pseudorandom sequence. The GUI may be configured to receive selections of the characters and directional input to the at least one face.

The memory may store an item, primary responses, secondary responses and ratings. The interface may communicate with users and a content provider and may allow the users to create primary responses associated with the item, create secondary responses associated with the primary responses and rate the primary and secondary responses. The processor may receive the item from the content provider and provide the interface to the users. The processor may receive the primary and secondary responses from the users, and may display a graphical hierarchical representation of the item and the responses. The processor may allow the users to rate the primary and secondary responses through the graphical hierarchical representation. The processor may provide the primary and secondary responses to the content provider, ordered based on the ratings.

Abstract: A computer implemented system is disclosed for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for an application program. The system includes a renderer, a proxy, and a workflow manager. The renderer is defined to render the GUI. The proxy is defined to provide to the renderer each component necessary for rendering the GUI. The proxy appears to the renderer as a single monolithic application program. The workflow manager is defined to communicate one or more document viewers and their associated user interface components to the proxy for provision to the renderer. The document viewers and their associated user interface components represent components necessary for rendering the GUI.

Abstract: A data inputting system includes a communication device and user-activated control or input device, both coupled to a processor. Data and a focus indicator are displayed or otherwise communicated to a user through the communication device. The position of the focus indicator relative to the displayed data indicates a changeable portion of the displayed data. Changes to the displayed data are made by activating the input device, which may include one or more sets of up and down scroll keys. Each set of scroll keys may be used to change different portions of the displayed data. The processor automatically adjusts the position of the focus indicator based on predetermined criteria, thereby allowing changes to different portions of the displayed data. An associated method is disclosed wherein the focus indicator's position is adjusted after a predetermined time has elapsed from which the input device is deactivated.

Abstract: A system and method are provided that incorporate subjects or subject lines into instant messaging sessions or conversations on a mobile device. During an instant messaging session, the user is provided with an option to specify a subject for at least the current portion of the session or for the entire session. The subject is proposed to the other users in the session, who can accept, ignore or modify the subject at their end. Multiple subjects can be specified for a single conversation if desired, and the subjects can be displayed with the contact in a message list. The instant messaging sessions may then be searched using search tools that are typically used for search email and other data messages.

Abstract: A remote-control device which allows remotely controlling parameters of a light via a console. The console actually does the controlling, but the remote-control device enables control of the light parameters by sending the information to the console. For example, the remote can be used to control preset values or to control other aspects of the console. The console may store presets associated with focus, and those presets can be changed from the remote.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for text entry are provided. The method provides a keypad comprising four directional keys and a center selection key, and assigns a set of letters to each of the four directional keys. A representation of the set of letters assigned to each of the four directional keys is provided. A sequence of selected directional keys is received in accordance with a user input, and in accordance with the selected directional keys, the set of letters assigned to each of the selected directional keys are selectively passed to a parsing algorithm. The parsing algorithm determines a user intended text input based upon the passed sequence of letter groupings.

Abstract: A greeting card display system and method presents cards in grouped arrangements by category and sub-category. Locator headers span multiple columns of a tiered matrix of card stations to define the area of a group of cards. Related groups of cards are relatively positioned in the display to facilitate customer location of cards of a particular category or subcategory. A header or megalocator, which defines a broad category or theme of cards such as “Birthday”, extends over all of the columns of card stations of the display. Separate locators, beneath the header, extend over some of the columns of card stations below the header, and define a subcategory of cards such as “Birthday for Her”. All of the cards under the subcategory locators are within the defined subcategory, until another locator is reached, defining another subcategory such as “Birthday for Mom”.

Abstract: A radiation imaging apparatus for imaging a radiation image inputs an operation instruction from a user and performs display control of a screen that has an input region in which one or more information input regions for having various types of information input thereto are disposed, and a workflow region in which workflow information related to imaging of the radiation image is disposed. Here, when a confirmation instruction indicating confirmation of an operation is input, the radiation imaging apparatus moves the one or more information input regions of the input region toward a prescribed region of the workflow region, and performs display using animation that sequences the movement of the one or more information input regions.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are disclosed for generating a graphical user interface (GUI) for a plurality of text based commands, in which environment mapping definitions may link generic GUI components with predefined command structures. The plurality of text based commands may be command-line interface (CLI) commands. The environment mapping definitions may be applied to a command specification defining characteristics of the plurality of text based commands in a standard format in order to build a GUI from generic GUI components. The command specification may be generated by providing an interpretation reference defining CLI conventions and parsing a command description to extract the command specification with reference to the interpretation reference.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes displaying, within a user interface in a digital media system, a thumbnail representing at least a portion of a media clip, receiving user input corresponding to a play speed at which a media clip is to be played, determining whether the received user input exceeds one or more predetermined thresholds, and selectively disabling playing of a video portion or an audio portion, or both, based on a result of the determination.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for navigating a corpus of content items stored in one or more information repositories within a distributed communications system. The content items may include video feeds, audio feeds, television broadcasts, website, a web log or the like. Using any browser application, the user views content items presented in an interactive scroll display. Modules are included for filtering, sorting and sampling content to ensure delivery of relevant high-quality content to the user. A feedback mechanism is also included for refining relevance filtering, sorting and sampling processes.
