Abstract: A method of defining a voice browser for browsing a plurality of voice sites, at least some of the voice sites having different telephone numbers, the voice sites being configured to be accessed by telephone, is provided including storing information relating to voice sites visited by a voice user; and providing forward and back functions, comprising transferring a user from one voice site to another, in response to commands by the user. Computer program code and systems are also provided.

Abstract: An electronic text viewing apparatus includes a viewing application unit that outputs viewing data for displaying a text in a viewable manner, a display unit that displays the viewing data and a fast reading button for receiving a fast reading request for the viewing data, a viewing data requesting unit that issues a request for acquirement of the viewing data to the viewing application unit, and acquires the viewing data to be viewed, a setting data storage unit that stores setting data for the acquired viewing data, and a fast reading viewer control unit that, when the fast reading button is pressed, converts the viewing data into fast reading viewer data by performing display format conversion, display speed control and scroll control of the viewing data, and displays the fast reading viewer data and a return button for converting the fast reading viewer data to the viewing data.

Abstract: A method performed in a web page authoring system having a user input system and an editing screen display for displaying a representation of a tag associated with a display artifact represented on the editing screen display is disclosed. A user action input selecting a reference point on the editing screen display for a web page being authored is received. A reference area on the editing screen display enclosing the selected reference point is set. The display object closest to the reference point is selected as a reference display artifact from among display artifacts in the reference area. A tag associated with the reference display artifact is selected from among tags associated with the display artifacts. A first rectangle is drawn on the editing screen display artifact. A second, larger rectangle is drawn enclosing the first rectangle. A space between the first and second rectangles represents the selected tag.

Abstract: A structured query language interface provides access to information stored in a social network system. The interface allows third party systems to treat the information stored in the social networking system as a distributed database. The social networking system acts as an expandable distributed database that can add additional fields or categories of data associated with its members. The information provided in response to a structured query may be subject to multiple levels of access control including, business logic rules applicable to users of the social networking system or privacy limitations set by individual users. The social networking system uses a scripting language to extract the information and apply business logic rules to the data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for distributed discussion collaboration and making an agenda for an event over a network. In an embodiment, a system may include an aggregator configured to aggregate discussion items submitted by collaborators, and a view controller associated with the collaborators and configured to provide for display the aggregated items. A system may also include a voting module configured to receiving voting information submitted by the collaborators for the discussion items, and an ordering module configured to analyze the voting information and order the aggregated items based on the analyzed voting information. In another embodiment, a method includes aggregating discussion items submitted by collaborators and receiving voting information for the aggregated items.

Abstract: A plurality of digital resources are identified in a set of digital resources. An indication of a user selection of at least one criteria is received, the user selection received through a user interface. A degree of correlation is determined between each digital resource in the plurality and each of the criteria. Data is sent that is configured for use in presenting, in a window of the user interface, a plurality of graphical resource objects and at least one graphical attractor object, each graphical resource object representing a digital resource in the plurality of digital resources and each graphical attractor object representing one of the criteria. Each resource object is presented a distance from each attractor object, the distance based at least in part on the corresponding degree of correlation between the digital resource represented by the resource object and the criteria represented by the attractor object.

Abstract: A design tool provides a conflict management graphical user interface (GUI). The conflict management GUI notifies a user that requested values of a global resource result in a conflict during development of an embedded application. The conflict management GUI further provides the user with a user interface element to adjust the requested values until the conflict is resolved.

Abstract: Approaches are described in which objects within slides are identified, automatically or by a user, and each object is individually manipulable during slide transitions. The individual manipulation applied to each object during a transition may also be automatically determined or specified by a user. The persistence of an object between slides may be taken into account in the manipulation of the object during slide transition such that objects present on both a incoming and outgoing slide are handled differently than those objects present on only one of the slides.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing dynamic context assistance to a user of a system, such as a storage system. One or more current command line interface (CLI) entries that are entered in a CLI of the system are received and a current state of the system is determined. Dynamic context assistance is then generated for one or more current CLI entries based on entered values of the one or more CLI entries. In this regard, the dynamic context assistance can be generated and displayed in a text or graphical form when one or more dynamic context assist keys are entered in the CLI in conjunction with the current CLI entry.

Abstract: An automated system manages completion of a medical imaging study having one or more different reports associated with one or more different personnel. A user interface provides multiple display images. A configuration processor enables a user, using a display image, to assign a predetermined completion status to a report. The predetermined completion status is used to indicate a report is complete as required for an associated imaging study to be designated complete. A monitoring processor monitors stored indicators indicating current status of corresponding reports associated with the imaging study. A decision processor, in response to the monitoring of the stored indicators, automatically determines whether a current status of a report matches a corresponding predetermined completion status of a report for individual reports associated with the imaging study and in response to a match for the individual reports, initiates generation of a message indicating the imaging study is complete.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein generally relate to systems and methods for providing human interaction with a business application from an email client. To complete a business process, individuals often must provide information to a business application. However, it may be difficult for the individual to interact with the application if the user is not familiar with the application's user interface (UI) or if it is necessary to navigate to the application's UI. Accordingly, it may be more efficient to interact with the application using a UI within an email client. User input for an automated business process can be submitted from a general-purpose email client. Benefits from such include providing input to a business application while working within the familiar email interface; not needing to switch contexts to complete work for the application; and completing work for the application while being offline or having limited corporate network connectivity.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods, software, devices and APIs for defining touch events for application level software. Furthermore, some embodiments are directed to simplifying the recognition of single and multiple touch events for applications running in multi-touch enabled devices. To simplify the recognition of single and multiple touch events, each view within a particular window can be configured as either a multi-touch view or a single touch view. Furthermore, each view can be configured as either an exclusive or a non-exclusive view. Depending on the configuration of a view, touch events in that and other views can be either ignored or recognized. Ignored touches need not be sent to the application. Selectively ignoring touches can allow for simpler software elements that do not take advantage of advanced multi touch features to be executed at the same device and time as more complex software elements.

Abstract: Various implementations are described herein for providing unified user experiences using data attributes and data models. By referencing structural information of data attributes included in data models, users are able to interact with and/or view related data stored in different databases. Contextual information for the different databases, data attributes, and data models provide a seamless unified user experience when running reports, scripts, web controls and so forth associated with the related data.

Abstract: A system and method for providing the dynamic display of content is provided. A network resource, such as Web page, can include a plurality of dynamic content modules. Depending on the available display area and additional display criteria, each dynamic content module displays a subset content. Each dynamic content module corresponds to an integration of multiple layers of content, such as text, graphics and image rendering information.

Abstract: First acquired data that represents past values of one or more parameters is displayed in a user interface through which a user can monitor, control and predict system operations. Second acquired data that represents present values of the one or more parameters is displayed in the user interface. Virtual data that represents predicted future values of the one or more parameters is displayed in the user interface, wherein the first acquired data, the second acquired data and the virtual data are presented with a unified visual appearance such that a relationship between the past values, present values and predicted future values is visually indicated.

In response to detecting a finger gesture on a bookmarked location, an area corresponding to the bookmarked location is displayed on a digital map. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a recent query, one or more results corresponding to the recent query are displayed on a digital map. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a contact, an area associated with the contact is displayed on a digital map.

Abstract: A method for facilitating distributed hosting of web application styles may include storing original style sheets at a first location, where the original style sheets pertain to a user interface (UI) provided by the service provider, and allowing a third party to customize a subset of the original style sheets and to store the customized style sheets at a second location. The method may further include causing the customized style sheets to be combined with the original style sheets when the user interface is presented to a user associated with the third party.

Abstract: A temporal layer containing personalization markers (e.g., placemarks) created by a user at a given time (or time period), can be combined with map imagery, allowing the user (or other users) to show only the personalization markers contained in the temporal layer. Temporal layers can be of arbitrary temporal or geographical size, fully or partially overlapping in time or space, split into smaller temporal layers, logically aligned or combined and/or continuous or non-continuous in time or space. Temporal layers can be stored in a repository where they can be searched and used by others. Temporal layers can be associated with search services (e.g., news search) or search histories (e.g., automatic temporal layers based on search history). A user's personal profile can be compared with other users' personal profiles and the results of the comparison can be used to recommend temporal layers. Advertisements can be associated with temporal layers.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and article of manufacture for creating visualizations of documents are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving an electronic visual, audio, or audiovisual content; generating a display for authoring a multimedia representation of the received electronic content; receiving user input, if any, through the generated display; and generating a multimedia representation of the received electronic content utilizing received user input.
