  • Patent number: 5060941
Abstract: A competitive electronic game toy for one or more players, dependent upon personal reaction time and hand-eye coordination. Players manually trigger the sequencing of lights along one or two paths having successive segments bearing award indicia of a selected game or sport, and also manually halt the sequencing at will. The segments are marked with award indicia of a selected game or sport, and may be point scores or instructions to add or delete turns or for simulated playing of a game or sport, such as baseball. The players, striving to be awarded a high score or good play, try to stop the light sequencing at a path sgement with favorable indicia.

  • Patent number: 5060949
Abstract: A golf club head and hosel construction. The head has a front face facing in the intended direction of flight of a golf ball and a sole extends rearwardly from the lower edge of the front face. The lower extremity of the front face is downwardly convex, having a central generally curved apex, and an alignment marker is disposed on the front face directly above the apex. The heel and toe portions of the rear face are provided with enlargements which border a generally vertical arched depression. The lower end of the depression terminates at the sole adjacent the lower extremity of the front face to provide a generally sharp edge capable of penetrating the turf, while the heel and toe enlargements control the penetration of the edge into the turf. The hosel which is connected to the head includes a generally sharp hosel edge facing in the direction of flight, and a generally flat surface borders the hosel edge and merges into the head.

  • Patent number: 5060950
Abstract: A golf clubhead with enhanced moments of inertia along both its twist and loft axes has a toe weight means of a first predetermined density comprising first and second substantial percentages as upper and lower concentrations of mass positioned respectively in predetermined fixed locations adjacent the top and bottom corners of the toe between the striking surface and the back. A medium of a second predetermined density less dense than the first predetermined density of the toe weight means may substantially separate the upper concentration from the lower concentration, the upper concentration and may generally separate from the central boundary of the toe section.

  • Patent number: 5058902
Abstract: A racquet handle with an ellipsoidal cross-section, the long axis of which increases toward its distal end. Attached to the distal end of the handle is a metal weight, which extends the center of percussion, increases racquet head control, increases the power of heavily wristed shots, and neutralizes impact forces that may cause damage to a player's joints. The long ellipsoidal axis may be made radially adjustable about the longitudinal axis of the handle to suit the grip styles of individuals.

  • Patent number: 5058893
Abstract: A slot machine is disclosed having three coaxially mounted reels and a mechanism for simultaneously spinning the three reels when a starting handle is pulled, and stopping them at three new stopping positions in response to control signals from a microprocessors. Each reel has a sprocket with 32 stopping positions and a coding ring with a plurality of slots arranged on a circumferential path about the reel's axis, forming a single track of digital information which may be read by a single optic sensor as the reel rotates. The track has 32 equally spaced fields of optical information corresponding to the 32 stopping positions of the reels. Each field has one slot, the slot width alternating between wide and narrow arcuate sizes about the coding ring, with one sequence of three narrow slots marking a home position for its respective reel.

A number of separate miniature flow line section pieces are adapted to be placed onto the different channels to form imaginary flow lines between the oil well and the various storage tanks. During the playing of the game die are rolled to establish prices for selling oil form the oil storage tanks or for disposing of water from the water storage tanks. Play money is exchanged to determine the game winner, i.e. the player acquiring the most money.

  • Patent number: 5058895
Abstract: The specification herein discloses a golf club having an improved moment of inertia. The improved moment of inertia is for both a driver and a putter. The driver is formed of an investment casting having peripheral weights proximate the toe side and heel side of the club. A third weight is provided at the rear of the club. The weights provide a three dimensional configuration for weighting the club wherein the rear weight provides an increased moment of inertia. By increasing the moment of inertia, the club has a lesser tendency to twist when it strikes the ball off the center of gravity thereby creating less torque or twist to the club head for more accurate direction. The putter has the moment of inertia weighting applied above its midline center of gravity so that it provides overspin or top spin to the ball when struck.

  • Patent number: 5058896
Abstract: An educational tool in the form of a word game is disclosed. Each player starts on his own colored starting point at the bottom of the game area. Each player is represented by a colored alphabet set of blocks that are selected before the start of the game. During successive turns, the players must travel up and across the board by forming words while using one letter from the previous word, and must return the remaining letters to a return section of a tray with the letters facing down. All the letters used by a player from his selector holder to form a word must be substituted by the letters from a surplus section of a supply tray. To accomplish their goal and win the game, the players must enter their respective color goal or finish point on the top of the game area. If in a turn more than one player reaches his goal, the winner will be the one having the most letters in his color goal.

  • Patent number: 5056793
Abstract: A picture identification game apparatus for competitive determination of the identity of the subject matter of a partially exposed picture, such as a photograph or drawing of a well-known person, thing, or member of a select group. The picture is initially concealed with cover pieces of opaque material removably secured in an adjacent relationship to a protective window superimposed in front of the picture. Each of the pieces is uniquely identified by a marking on the exposed surface thereof. The covered picture is then displayed or published to the members of a group of competing participants. By a process which is keyed to the identifying marks, a first one of the opaque pieces is randomly selected and removed, thereby exposing a small portion of the concealed picture. After a predetermined period of time, a second piece is randomly selected and removed, thereby revealing another small portion of the concealed picture.

  • Patent number: 5056791
Abstract: A system that simulates indoors a game of golf as it would be played outdoors on a conventional golf course and also provides the player with a diagnosis of his golf swing. An accurate determination is made of the trajectory, spin and velocity of a driven golf ball is made to determine the flight path it would take in an unimpeded ennvironment. From this information there is provided to the player a projected image that his golf ball would take on a real golf course as well as diagnostic information about his swing.

  • Patent number: 5056787
Abstract: A steering apparatus for a game machine according to the invention has a mechanism in which a steering wheel is rotated in accordance with the steering operation of the player and is automatically returned to the center. An end cam which always receives the elastic force of a compression coil spring sets the steering wheel to the neutral position, namely, the center by way of a guide roller. For instance, when the player operates the steering wheel to the right rotational direction, the guide roller rotates to the right together with the steering shaft. Thus, the end cam moves along the axial direction of the steering shaft in accordance with a rotational angle of the steering wheel. Then, when the steering wheel is released, the end cam receives the elastic force of the compression coil spring and allows the steering wheel to be returned to the center by way of the guide roller without performing the reversing operation of the steering wheel.
