  • Patent number: 9288092
Abstract: A tuner receives a received signal using one of a plurality of transmission formats that use at least one of either a first frequency or a second frequency band. A determination unit determines the transmission format being used in the received signal from among the plurality of transmission formats. In the determination unit, a pattern matching unit stores in advance a plurality of patterns respectively expressing a received waveform of a preamble in each of the plurality of transmission formats, conducts a pattern matching process between the received signal and the each of the plurality of patterns, and obtains a correlation value. A transmission mode determination unit determines the transmission format being used in the received signal on the basis of the correlation value.

  • Patent number: 9281978
Abstract: A method and a highway addressable remote transducer (HART) soft modem device for modulating and demodulating analog signals with HART messages are provided. A phase coherent frequency shift keying (FSK) modulator modulates and transmits analog signals with HART messages, and a phase coherent FSK demodulator receives and demodulates the analog signals with the HART messages. The FSK modulator is a digital modulator that outputs 1 or 0 for transmission. With oversampling and low pass filtering, the digital modulation results in low jitter and good signal to noise ratio. The FSK demodulator applies a fast energy detect algorithm and dynamically reduces or increases a clock speed of a central processing unit (CPU) of the HART soft modem device for reducing power consumption of the CPU. Furthermore, the HART soft modem device uses direct memory access (DMA) to further reduce the power consumption, thereby reducing the overall power consumption by around 50%.

  • Patent number: 9281981
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting data with conditional zero padding is provided. In accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure, a transmitter transmits data to a receiver by transmitting symbols such that each symbol is preceded by a cyclic prefix of a fixed length and the symbol conditionally includes enough zero padding to avoid ISI (Inter-Symbol Interference) between consecutive symbols. In some implementations, if the fixed length for cyclic prefixes is long enough to avoid ISI between consecutive symbols, then the symbols may omit zero padding. Otherwise, the symbols may include enough zero padding to avoid ISI between consecutive symbols. The zero padding may be zero tail or zero head.

  • Patent number: 9253638
Abstract: Provided are a single-card multi-mode multi-operator authentication method and device. An MAML in an AP receives an authentication request from a user, and authenticates hybrid networks found by a UE. Under the condition of determining that the authentication on each network in the hybrid networks is passed, the MAML receives terminal position information sent by the UE, and determines whether the terminal position information is the same as operator area information registered by the UE in advance, if so, the MAML acquires signal strength of each network and determines whether the signal strength of each network falls within a signal strength range covered by a base station under the network, if so, determines that all the networks in the hybrid networks are authenticated successfully, otherwise, determines that the authentication fails. The security in using an SIM card by a valid user and secure network service are ensured.

  • Patent number: 9236970
Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processing device that reduces the influence of an interfering wave to suppress the deterioration of a BER even if narrow-band noise is included in a communication band. In the signal processing device, which is capable of performing an FFT and performing a window function process as preprocessing before the FFT and achieves OFDM demodulation, the window function process is skipped to perform an FFT on a received signal if the frequency of narrow-band noise included in the received signal coincides with the subcarrier frequency of OFDM within a predetermined range. If the frequencies do not coincide with each other, the FFT is performed after the window function process is performed on the received signal.
