Abstract: A product inventory management system including a cabinet configured to contain an inventory of product units having RFID tags and further configured to monitor the inventory by wirelessly detecting the RFID tags, and a server system configured to communicate over a network with the cabinet, the server system capable of managing the inventory of the cabinet. There is also a method for product inventory management, including receiving, in a server system and via a network, inventory data from a cabinet, the inventory data corresponding to an inventory of product units stored in the cabinet, and generating an order to have additional product units added to the cabinet according to the cabinet inventory.

Abstract: A system and method for processing new rate sheets in a telecommunications system are disclosed, wherein the method may include receiving an email message from a supplier at a communication network; determining whether the received email message includes rate information; if the received email message includes rate information, fetching details of a template for the supplier associated with the received message; parsing and storing information in a first rate sheet based on information from the template; and updating routing tables based on the parsed rate information.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operating a vehicle including an engine comprising a turbocharger including a compressor and a turbine. The engine further includes a bypass path configured to selectively route gas from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the turbine. In one embodiment, the method comprises selectively increasing gas flow to the engine by adjusting gas flow through the bypass path from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the turbine. In this manner, the performance of the engine may be adjusted for various operating conditions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for computing distance between devices. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of determining an approximate distance between a merchant computer and a customer device based on a strength of a wireless signal associated with data transmitted and received between the merchant device and customer device. The actions further include validating the approximate distance based on signals from a plurality of motion sensors of the customer device to generate a validated distance. The actions further include generating a list with the one or more customers ranked in the list based on the validated distance. The actions further include presenting, on the merchant device, the list of the one or more customers.

The computing device may include a receiver to receive transaction data of a plurality of merchants, wherein the transaction data includes authorization transactions and clearing transactions, a calculator to match a plurality of authorization transactions with a plurality of clearing transactions, respectively, and calculate gratuity amounts for the plurality of matched transactions, an analyzer to select at least two merchants, generate tip data for each selected merchant, the tip data for a respective merchant being generated based on gratuity amounts of matched transactions that correspond to the respective merchant, and rank the at least two merchants based on a comparison of the generated tip data of the at least two merchants with respect to each other, and a transmitter configured to output the rank and the tip data of the at least two merchants to a user.

Abstract: A communications controller and method is provided for use in a checkout system including at least one POS terminal and a wrist-worn wearable device. The communications controller includes an alert server and one or more adapters. The alert server receives transaction information from a POS terminal, processes the transaction information to identify the POS terminal and an issue relating to the POS terminal to be resolved. An adapter develops alert information for the wrist-worn wearable device to enable the wrist-worn wearable device to display a notification associated with the issue relating to the POS terminal and to receive an input to resolve the issue relating to the POS terminal. The alert information is based on the transaction information and specifications of the wrist-worn wearable device.

Abstract: A near field transaction system includes a first transaction device having near field communication circuitry, and a portable device having near field communication circuitry. The system also includes at least one transaction server having a memory area with at least one application program, and a mechanism for establishing a data link between the server and the near field communication circuitry of the portable device. The application program is configured to perform a transaction with the first transaction device, using the near field communication circuitry of the portable device as a proximity relay to communicate with the first transaction terminal.

Abstract: A computing device is enabled to be networked into a delivery and authentication system. The user may geo-fence their property further marking points of interest with a drop down marker being displayed on a mobile device and on a map. POIs may be established for drone delivery systems. Large drones may be enabled with an open area to allow for smaller drones to fit into the large drone. The large drone may include in a loading bay the various other smaller drones. Upon reaching a specific destination the large drone may be enabled to open a transport bay and release the smaller drones for last mile delivery.

Abstract: A virtual network is overlaid upon physical networks. The virtual network is a layer-2 network that expands an organization's LAN using virtual MAC addresses. A VN device driver shim intercepts LAN packets and their virtual MAC and IP addresses and encapsulates them with physical packets. As new nodes are created, a VN switch table is expanded so that all nodes on the virtual network can reach the new node. A copy of the VN switch table is stored on each node by a virtual network management daemon on the node. A VN configuration controller in a central server updates the VN switch tables. Organizations can expand their virtual network as nodes are created at remote cloud computing providers without action by the staff at the cloud computing provider. Hybrid cloud virtual networks include on-premises physical and virtual-machine nodes, and off-premises guest nodes and instances.

Abstract: According to the invention, a system for performing a money transfer between a sender an a recipient through the use of an augmented reality enabled device is disclosed. The system may include a first mobile device associated with a first entity. The first mobile device may be configured to detect an indicator via an augmented reality subsystem. The indicator may include a characteristic and be associated with a second entity, as well as be configured to associate meta-information with the indicator. The first mobile device may further be configured to receive an input comprising an amount to be transferred from the first entity to the second entity and transmit a set of instructions to a money transfer network. The set of instructions may be based in part on the indicator and the input, and include instructions to perform a money transfer between the first entity and the second entity.

Abstract: Various examples of methods and systems for prioritizing identifier in cost-based inventory allocation are described. In one implementation, a method may determine a shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier of a plurality of identifiers of a plurality of items in an inventory, the shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier related to sales volume, billable weight and shipping zone associated with the respective identifier. The method may also rank the plurality of identifiers based at least in part on the shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier. The method may further determine an order of allocation of the inventory of the plurality of items based at least in part on the ranking of the plurality of identifiers.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein include methods and systems for remotely managing appliances, including enabling communication between a user of the appliance and third party systems. The third party systems can be any entity that has a relationship with the user of the appliance, such as a payment infrastructure handling incremental payments for the appliance, or a content management entity (for example, helping parents to control access to digital content available to children). In various embodiments, third party systems communicate with a device that is primarily a communication device under control of the user. In turn, the communication device conveys control information to the appliance.

Abstract: A mobile commerce system including a multiplicity of Mobile Device-Point of Sale Communication (MPC)-equipped mobile devices, a plurality of MPC-enabled Point-of-Sale (POS) devices, at least one POS configuration server for configuring the plurality of MPC-enabled POS devices, at least one MPC-equipped mobile device configuration server for configuring the plurality of MPC-equipped mobile devices and at least one mobile marketing platform server operative to introduce Transaction Value Certificate (TVC)-related functions and to communicate both with the at least one POS configuration server and the at least one MPC-equipped mobile device configuration server to coordinate operation thereof so that the MPC-enabled POS devices will be “tap-ready” for carrying out the TVC-related functions.
