Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a detector configured to detect tampering with at least one of a plurality of software components to be executed in accordance with a boot instruction, a storage unit configured to store information for enabling or disabling a function of detecting the tampering, and a rebooter configured to reboot the information processing apparatus on the basis of the information stored in the storage unit and on the basis of a time that elapses after receipt of the boot instruction.
Abstract: A management apparatus includes a registration section that registers plural pieces of printing data related to a printing request by a user based on data received from a terminal apparatus of the user, a generation section that groups printing data which has identical or similar printing data characteristics to generate group identification information, a receiving section that receives the group identification information from a printing apparatus, and a providing section that provides the printing apparatus with the plural pieces of printing data which belong to a group identified by the group identification information received by the receiving section.
Abstract: Provided is a transmitting device for a cart with an auto following function, which can sense the position and moving path of a user and move while following the user. The transmitting device for a cart provides a sensing and communication function such that the cart with the auto following function can sense and follow the position of the transmitting device. Thus, the cart can sense and follow the position of the transmitting device. Furthermore, since the transmitting device for a cart can be conveniently worn like a watch, a user's convenience can be improved.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a sheet conveyance unit that is configured to transport a print medium along a conveyance path. An antenna is configured to emit radio waves towards a predetermined portion of the conveyance path. A controller is configured to control the antenna to emit the radio waves towards the predetermined portion with a polarization direction set according to a type of the print medium being transported by the sheet conveyance unit. The print medium may have, for example, one or more wireless tags thereon or therein.
Abstract: An image processing device reduces influence from delay due to one or more post processors and efficiently utilizes resources of an image former, to improve productivity. The image processing device includes: a job taker configured to take a print job; and a print data producer configured to output print data to an image former, configured to form an image on a sheet, and control a cutter configured to cut, inline, the sheet having the image formed and the image former. When the job taker takes a first print job to use the cutter and then takes a second print job not to use the cutter, the print data producer executes the first print job concurrently with the second print job.

Abstract: The present invention provides an information processing apparatus capable of performing appropriate processing under a predetermined usage agreement. To this end, the information processing apparatus stores state information indicating whether the information processing apparatus is in a first state in which a predetermined service is unavailable or a second state in which the predetermined service is available. Moreover, the information processing apparatus communicates with a server and updates the stored state information based on the predetermined agreement information obtained from the server.
Abstract: A method and system for obscured contact sharing is provided. In an embodiment, the method includes receiving at a first user device a request from a second user device to provide an obscured contact, wherein the obscured contact includes a plurality of information elements. The first user device receives from the second user device the obscured contact and data about obscuring at least one of the information elements of the obscured contact. Based on the data, an operating system of the first user device obscures the at least one information element from presentation by the first user device to a user while at the same time being able to use the obscured information element for a predetermined time. The operating system of the first user device removes the at least one information element from contact information storage of the first user device in response to detection of a predetermined time indicated by the second user device or a delete command from the second user device.

Abstract: An information processing method performs steps for an information processing apparatus to communicate with an image forming apparatus having first and second sheet output sections. The second sheet output section can be switched between a close position to serve to guide a sheet to the first sheet output section, and an open position not to guide the sheet to the first sheet output section but to stack the sheet. The method inputs a type of sheet, acquires information indicating whether the second sheet output section is in an open or closed state, and transmits image information to the image forming apparatus. When the sheet type recommends the sheet be output to the second sheet output section and the second sheet output section is in the closed state, a message is output to prompt to switch the second sheet output section into the open position before the image information is transmitted.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes at least one of a print engine and a scan engine, a communication interface, a display, and a controller configured to perform at least one of controlling the print engine to perform printing and controlling the display to display a status of the printing, and controlling the scan engine to perform image scanning and controlling the display to display a status of the image scanning.
