Abstract: A system can combine edgelit signage and edgelit illumination. The system can comprise two edgelit lightguide sections, one supporting signage and another supporting illumination. The lightguide section that supports signage can comprise a backlit face inscribed with text or graphics conveying an emergency message. The lightguide section that supports illumination can comprise a face patterned with features that release light, for example for emergency illumination. The two lightguide sections can be two areas of a single edgelit lightguide. The two lightguide sections can alternatively formed from two separate lightguides. In some examples, one or more illumination lightguide sections can be configured as a trim plate.

Abstract: A magnetic surface mounting apparatus used for hanging items is described. The apparatus has several parts that can assemble and disassemble easily. The magnet housed in a magnetic case is surrounded by a boot. The boot is designed so the user can easily dislodge the magnet from the surface using the safety handle. The hanger is attached to the boot using the swivel pin. This apparatus can be used to hang working tools in a building or construction area or any area where several people use common tools and want ease of access and less clutter. It can be used in many sites and prevent health and safety hazards.

Abstract: A laminated sheet construction for use in product packages has a substrate layer onto which there is laminated a transparent solid plastic film with an exposed surface having a transparent thermosetting adhesive coating. The surface beneath the coating may be printed with text and/or graphics which is visible through the film and adhesive. A container for a product may be directly affixed to the adhesive surface. Panels of the laminated substrate may be bonded together for increased strength or for capturing the flange of a container which can project through a window in one of the panels while displaying printing on the other panel through the window.

Abstract: A mite propagation inhibiting sheet has a sheet layer, an adhesive layer, and an unwoven fabric layer wherein mites are allowed to invade from a surface of the unwoven fabric layer to which an adhesive is not adhered, thereby forming a colony and the mites are trapped by an adhesive of the adhesive layer when the mites invade deep in the unwoven fabric layer by instinct, and further, a method of manufacturing a mite propagation inhibiting sheet, and a method of inhibiting the propagation of mites.

Abstract: A reversible hinge greeting card with an electronic component is provided. The greeting card has a card body with a plurality of panels. One of the panels is a front panel, one of the panels is a back panel, and one of the panels is an intermediary panel. The intermediary panel and a connecting band connect the front panel to the back panel, such that the greeting card can open from right to left or from left to right. An electronic component is integrated within the connecting band. The electronic component includes at least one switch operably connected to the front panel and at least one switch operably connected to the back panel.

Abstract: A cable marker includes a housing which has an accommodating opening to accommodate a label to mark a cable, a cover to close the accommodating opening in a closed position of the cable marker, and a film hinge integrally connecting the housing to the cover such that in an open position, in which the cover does not close the accommodating opening, the cover can be pivoted in relation to the housing along a pivoting plane. The film hinge has a first base portion connecting the film hinge to the housing, a second base portion connecting the film hinge to the cover, and a connecting portion arranged between the first base portion and the second base portion. The connecting portion has a width that is reduced in comparison with at least one of the base portions as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the pivoting plane.

The device functions to prevent the tragedy of a baby being left in a hot car. The device has three signature, giant beads, a color matching functional carabiner for attachment with the male end of the auto seatbelt buckle, a color matching functional male end seatbelt adapter piece to fastened with the female end of the child safety seat belt buckle, and a matching “official child safety apparatus” tag, includes a card stock bookmark or a magnet, displaying a symbol and meaning of the various charms on one side and the instructions for properly using the said bracelet alert device the other side.

Abstract: A dynamic message sign includes a front housing defining a viewing window and an interior. A LED assembly is in the interior for displaying a message within a cone of vision. A louver assembly limits the cone of vision. The dynamic message sign may also include a back frame for supporting the front housing and a bracket for setting the front assembly at an angle with respect to the back frame. The LED assembly can include a plurality of LED pixels arranged in rows and columns. The louver assembly can include a plurality of louver racks, each louver rack extending adjacent to a column of LED pixels.

Abstract: An interactive greeting card with a multi-panel insert which can be unfurled over a portion of the greeting card. In one embodiment, there is a photo or drawing of a character or animal printed on the front cover. A tab is located to the left of and behind the photo or drawing. When a user grasps and moves the tab, a multi-panel paper construct unfurls around the photo or drawing and appears as a wig atop the head of the character or animal depicted in the photo or drawing. Audio replay may also triggered by moving the tab from its original position. In another embodiment, the panels of the multi-panel paper construct are each shaped like a different item or object which is complementary to the theme of the greeting card. Unfolding the multi-panel construct along an outside edge of the greeting card may initiate audio playback and may also activate a motor module which causes movement to at least one mobile object contained on the greeting card.

Abstract: The present inventor devised, among other things, one or more exemplary systems, kits, methods, devices, assemblies, components, and/or software and related graphical interfaces related to signs with interchangeable illumination elements. One exemplary embodiment includes an illuminated sign assembly of two or more alphanumeric lighting elements formed of a transparent or translucent injection- or blow-molded plastic and including a number of surface-mounted light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Each of the alphanumeric elements plugs into power track, and can be independently rotated to a desired orientation relative the power track. In some embodiments, the each of the elements can be wireless controlled or programmed via a smartphone to blink or change colors according to a desired pattern or in response to ambient conditions. In still other embodiments, the lighting elements vertically stack onto a recharge station, and in yet others the elements are powered or recharged via resonant inductive coupling.

Abstract: A three dimensional stand alone pop up assembly and method for making the same, the assembly comprising outer structural wall panels connected with an internal support structure having a spreader, center support element and base components. The assembly moves between a first position, whereby the support structure is folded within the wall panels of the outer structure, and a second position whereby outer structural panels are unfolded into a three-dimensional stand-alone pop-up structure supported in the open position by the internal support structure. The assembly utilizes an internal support structure which folds internally and alleviates the need for an extended base or protruding member. The assembly accommodates a variety of lighting and sound features and can be configured in a variety of three dimensional stand alone pop up designs.

Abstract: A tangle catching device is configured to prevent a tangle of fishing line from entering a fishing reel of a fishing rod. The device includes a tangle catcher that defines at least in part a line opening through which the fishing line from the fishing reel extends. The tangle catcher has one or more teeth extending radially inward into the line opening from the tangle catcher. The teeth are hook shaped to catch the tangled fishing line.

Abstract: An exterminator for insects, for example mosquitoes, including: a) a container open on an upper side and filled with a water-containing fluid, including an inner wall with a smooth surface descending steeply towards the fluid, b) a cover at a distance above the open upper side of the container, and c) a float in the container, under the cover, and which can move up and down with the fluid level. The float includes a float body which extends above the surface of the fluid and which includes a structure which remains dry in a form of a gauze, net, cloth, screen, grid or fabric, on to which an electrostatic coating layer in a form of a platinum complex-containing silicone composition is provided.

Abstract: A physically-discrete sign component comprises an internally-electrically-illuminated alphabetic character having a front-facing profile and at least one connecting bar disposed at least substantially horizontally with respect to the front-facing profile of the alphabetic character and at least partially within the front-facing profile of that alphabetic character. By one approach the physically-discrete sign component includes two of the connecting bars. If desired, these two connecting bars are disposed at least substantially parallel to one another. By one approach, a first one of the connecting bars extends partially, but not wholly, above an upper periphery of the aforementioned front-facing profile while the second connecting bar extends partially, but not wholly, below a lower periphery of the front-facing profile. The connecting bars can include a connecting-bar interface configured to physically and electrically interconnect to an adjacent sign component.

Abstract: An insect trap for multiple species of pest insects, especially flying insects that are an indoor nuisance. The trap contains at least two parallel, planar, transparent faces, each face configured to polarize transmitted light into a single plane. The faces are oriented such that the light polarization planes are at substantially right angles. When the trap is attached substantially flush to a window, phototactic insects against the window perceive the trap faces as transparent and are thus induced to crawl in to the trap. However, light is prevented from passing through both faces, substantially obscuring the view of trapped insects inside to a casual human observer.

The article comprises a single sheet of paper including a single crease and separating the sheet of paper into a left panel and a right panel, wherein the sheet is in a closed position when folded along the crease, and wherein the sheet is in the open position when not folded along the crease, a pop-up sliceform element coupled to said sheet, wherein the sliceform includes a first plurality of sliceform elements perpendicular to a second plurality of sliceform elements when in the open position, wherein the sliceform element comprises a first and last sliceform element each with a distal tab, and wherein in the open position the pop-up sliceform element is displayed as a three-dimensional configuration, and in the closed position said pop-up sliceform element folds together into a flat configuration.

Abstract: The invention disclosed herein is comprised of a frame and high tension strings combined to create a useful, distinct and novel display frame. The high-tension strings are interwoven vertically and horizontally across the surface area within the perimeter of the frame, creating vertices and slots for securely holding art objects, such as photographs. The vertical and horizontal high tension strings are affixed to the backside of the frame with a fastener and further secured by intricate knots to prevent the shifting and moving of the strings. The high tension strings are strung at the highest tension and are specifically spaced to accommodate pictures of varying sizes. The specific sized slots created by the interweaving of the vertical and horizontal strings make it easy and simple to slip pictures in and out of the available slots, or rotate the pictures to display in a collage format.

Abstract: An animal trap has a fixed jaw that serves as a base, and an opposed moveable jaw that operatively closes down upon the base. A trigger is provided between the base and moveable jaw. A bait holder is provided within the moveable jaw, most preferably at a location that requires a rodent or other animal to step upon the trigger while both raising their head and twisting their neck to try to reach the bait. The trigger may be covered with a set of posts that are sized and spaced from each other to prohibit any flat placement of paws onto the trigger, thereby forcing the animal to grasp the post tops, while allowing a paw to slip between and potentially be trapped by adjacent posts if the animal tries to move suddenly.
