  • Patent number: 11153528
Abstract: Technologies for structured media playback include one or more physical media objects, which may be placed on a substrate including a matrix of position sensor tags. Each of the physical media objects is configured to sense one or more position sensor tags and transmit tag information received from the sensed position sensor tags to a compute device. The compute device determines a cast of physical media objects present on the substrate based on the received tag information and selects media for playback based on the determined cast. In some embodiments, the compute device may select the index of the media at which to initiate playback based on the determined cast or collection of physical media objects.

  • Patent number: 11146849
Abstract: A provider transmits instructions to a receiver to record multiple instances of content. The instances of content are included in the same frequency band of a broadcast signal transmitted via a first communication link and encoded utilizing a common encryption. The provider determines to supplement and transmits an instruction to record a supplemental instance of content from a second content provider via a second communication link. The receiver receives the instructions and accordingly receives, decodes, and stores the multiple instances of content and the supplemental content. A recorder in communication with the receiver determines whether a content selection is a member of a content group. The group determination is based on a tag of the content selection. If the content selection is a member of the content group, the recorder presents to a display device the content selection and at least one other member of the content group.

  • Patent number: 11074292
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein allow a user to add tags to a video as the video is being recorded. The tags can be added by capturing the user's voice as the video is recorded. Aspects can be performed by a head-mounted display. The head-mounted display can include an augmented reality display. In one aspect, a list of tags are displayed. The tags can be selected from a curated list of tags associated with a project the user is filming. For example, a project could comprise a building inspection during construction. In another aspect, the most commonly used tags in a given context can be shown. The most commonly used tags associated with a particular context can be determined through machine learning process. At a high level, a machine learning process can sort through historical tag data and associated contexts to determine a pattern correlating a context to a tag.

  • Patent number: 11049527
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for selecting a recording mode used by audio and/or video input devices on a device. The method includes determining an initial recording mode associated with a live recording on an electronic device. In response to determining the initial recording mode, the electronic device determines, based on the initial recording mode, a maximum recording length of the live recording that may be stored in available free space. In response to determining the maximum recording length is less than the predetermined threshold, the electronic device issues a warning that includes the maximum recording length to at least one output device. The method further includes enabling entry of a first response to the warning that includes an identification of an alternate recording mode and that extends the maximum recording length for the live recording within the at least one storage device.

  • Patent number: 10992991
Abstract: Techniques to segment videos for instructions in conjunction with an exemplary musical representation are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a tag file is created to include a link to a source video and a plurality of tags. At least one of the tags is defined to correspond to a video portion of the source video to be associated with one or more notes in a music representation (e.g., music notes in a music score). The video portion is played back to show how the one or more notes are played whenever an area containing the one or more notes in the music representation is activated. The tag file is separate from the source video and video data representing the source video is never modified while video portions in the source video are segmented via the tag file to define pieces of the music representation, each containing one or more notes.

  • Patent number: 10950132
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention discloses a process of providing a report predicting potential risks relating to an operator driving a vehicle using information obtained from various interior and exterior sensors, vehicle onboard computer (“VOC”), and cloud network. After activating interior and exterior sensors mounted on a vehicle operated by a driver for obtaining data relating to external surroundings and internal environment, the data is forwarded to VOC for generating a current fingerprint associated with the driver. The current fingerprint represents current driving status in accordance with the collected real-time data. Upon uploading the current fingerprint to the cloud via a communications network, a historical fingerprint which represents historical driving information associated with the driver is retrieved.

  • Patent number: 10930318
Abstract: Techniques of playing back a looping video file involve providing multiple video codecs for decoding a video file. Each video codec performs its own decoding operation on the looping video file, resulting in multiple buffers of video frames and a buffer of audio frames. Then, as the GPU renders the ending video frames from a first buffer, it begins rendering the beginning video frames from a second buffer. In this way, the beginning of a next video cycle is already rendered for viewing by the time a current video cycle is ending.

  • Patent number: 10834373
Abstract: The windowless prototypes of various evacuated tube transportation (ETT) based transportation systems, such as Hyperloop-based transportation systems, has the negative feel of an enclosed space. The lack of any kind of outside reference, the unknown sounds and the tremendous speed of the capsule/pod would surely cause anxiety with several passengers. A representation of the outside world shown within the pod/capsule using augmented windows alleviates this claustrophobic environment. At least for the closest passenger to the window, the illusion of looking out on a landscape is achieved using such augmented windows.
