Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes circuitry configured to recognize a character in an original image by character recognition, to generate a font, calculate a certainty factor of the character recognition, determine a color of the font based on the certainty factor by a first processing method, and determine a replacement color by a second processing method based on the certainty factor, and convert the original image into an editable electronic document including the font and an image in which the character pixel has the replacement color. The replacement color is a color to which a color of a character pixel of the recognized character is replaced.
Abstract: An example image forming includes a print engine to form an image, a display to display a user interface window for selecting at least one of an industry or a place using the image forming apparatus, and a processor to, based on at least one of the industry or the place being selected, set an option value corresponding to the at least one of the selected industry or place as a default option value for a function of the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: A printer driver communicates with a printer using a predetermined print protocol to obtain first attribute information related to printing from the printer. The print driver generates a print job conforming to the predetermined print protocol based on data received from an application and transmits the generated print job to the extension application (S606). The extension application obtains attribute information in a different form from the first attribute information (S611). The extension application displays a user interface (UI) for print settings based on at least the second attribute information (S613). The extension application generates a print job to be transmitted to the printer based on settings made via the UI and the print job received from the printer driver.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided with a storage, a controller, an image forming part, a first interface configured to receive an image forming job, and a second interface to which a portable storage device is connectable. When the particular storing function is enabled, image data is stored in the portable storage in response to receipt of the print job, and an image is formed in accordance with the image data stored in the portable storage. When the particular storing function is disabled, the image data related to the print job is stored in the storage of the image forming apparatus in response to receipt of the print job, and an image is formed in accordance with the image data stored in the storage of the image forming apparatus.
Abstract: A server, which is capable of communicating with a printer or printers, each performing radio frequency identification (RFID) communication with a RFID tag, contains: a record unit configured to record, in a memory device, printer identification information for identifying a printer, tag identification information for identifying a RFID tag, and communication parameters with which the printer performs RFID communication, in an associated manner; a first obtaining unit configured to obtain, from a printer, printer identification information and tag identification information read by the printer; an identifying unit configured to identify communication parameters associated with the printer identification information and the tag identification information obtained by the first obtaining unit; and a first transmission unit configured to transmit the communication parameters identified by the identifying unit, to the printer.
Abstract: A printing apparatus acquires an incoming direction and reception strength of a signal received from another apparatus, and performs predetermined processing relating to printing based on the acquired incoming direction and the acquired reception strength.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a processor and a memory storing instructions. Executing the instructions by the processor causes the processor to perform operations. A virtual device on the information processing apparatus to transmit a print job to an image forming apparatus is selected. A user interface is displayed that is for activating, in accordance with the selected virtual device and among one or more applications to provide an additional function to the image forming apparatus, an application that corresponds to a model of the image forming apparatus to which the selected virtual device transmits the print job.
Abstract: An approach is provided for configuring printing devices using a mobile device. The mobile device acquires, from a configuration manager, data that identifies a plurality of configurations available for a printing device. The mobile device displays the data and a user selects a configuration for the printing device. The mobile device causes the selected configuration to be applied to the printing device.
Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a first instruction-set of computer-readable instructions for a terminal device. The first instruction-set causes, when executed by the controller, the mobile terminal to receive a user operation to designate a designated second instruction-set through the input interface, and determine whether the memory stores designated device information including an operation ID identifying a designatable operation. When the designated device information is not stored in a memory, the mobile terminal searches for an image processing device capable of executing the designatable operation, receives a user operation to designate the designated device, stores designated device information in the memory, starts the designated program, obtains the operation ID of the designatable operation from the designated program, and transmits first instruction information to the designated device.
Abstract: A function executing device may receive a first function executing request from a first external device and receive a second function executing request from a second external device. The function executing device may display, in a case where the first function executing request is received, a first approval screen on the display. The function executing device may display, in a case where the second function executing request is received, a second approval screen on the display. In a case where the second function executing request is received under a state where the first approval screen is displayed on the display, the second approval screen may not be displayed on the display instead of the first approval screen.
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a printer, a memory, a processor, and a display. The printer forms an image according to the operation of a person. The memory stores contact history information indicating the history of contact of a person. The processor acquires information on contact infection of a virus at a site contacted by a specific person from the contact history information stored in the memory. The display shows information on the contact infection of the virus.

Abstract: A color printing system includes a color management service and one or more printing devices. An ink limit is specified for a calibration operation that uses a calibration chart to obtain measurement data. Using the measurement data, a calibration tone reproduction curve (TRC) along with calibration settings is generated. The calibration TRC and the ink limit are stored. For a print job, the calibration is identified and used to retrieve the calibration TRC and the ink limit. The original ICC profile for the calibration TRC also is provided. The ink limit is used to adjust the ICC profile accordingly. The adjusted ICC profile is used for color printing one or more documents for a print job.
