  • Patent number: 11437072
Abstract: A layered-keyframe-based, presentation recording service provides for presentation recording sessions, the recording of presentations, and the creation of presentation videos. A user records with the user's device the document pages and page annotations, as well audio and video streams, that are presented using the device during the course of a presentation recording session. The pages, annotations and video streams are efficiently and separately recorded as keyframes. These keyframes are used as document, annotation and video layers to create layered keyframes. A presentation video is created from the layered keyframes and the recorded audio stream. Users can then playback presentation videos at a time, place and manner that is available to, accessible by and/or convenient to them.

  • Patent number: 11386934
Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for displaying objects. In the method, video frames that contain objects of predefined types are detected in pieces of video data to be displayed in a first display region. If such video frames are detected, the objects of the predefined types are extracted from the detected video frames. The extracted objects are then displayed in sub-regions of a second display region that is different from the first display region, with each object being displayed in one of the sub-regions. In this way, the objects that a user is interested in can be extracted from a video, and displayed in a way to be viewed with ease.

  • Patent number: 11321385
Abstract: Implementations relate to visualizations including images based on image content. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes obtaining a set of images, determining one or more pixel characteristics of the set of images, and determining one or more faces depicted in the plurality of images based on one or more pixel characteristics. The method selects a group of images of the set of images, where each image in the group of images depicts a different group of faces than depicted in the other images in the set of images. The method generates a visualization including the group of images, and provides the visualization to a user device in response to a user request to cause the group of images to be displayed by the user device.

  • Patent number: 11310567
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for thumbnail generation. In one embodiment, a thumbnail stream is generated where one or more bits are assigned to key frames and minimizes the number of bits assigned to delta frames. Each key frame may be used to extract a still image for use in thumbnails during trick mode operation (e.g., fast forward, rewind, pause, or random seek operation). When the encoded video file is given to a Just in Time Packager (JITP), the JITP extracts the image files (via the key frames). Information regarding how to reference these files is stored in generated manifest file and may be reformatted by the JITP to fit the needs of the current product. In a variant, the JITP reformats the image files extracted from the encoded video for operation on a number of devices.

  • Patent number: 11176655
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for determining the location and characteristics of certain surface features that comprises elevated or depressed regions with respect to a smooth surrounding surface on an object. A filter acts on a range image of the scene. A filter defines an annulus or other perimeter shape around each pixel in which a best-fit surface is established. A normal to the pixel allows derivation of local displacement height. The displacement height is used to establish a height deviation image of the object, with which bumps, dents or other height-displacement features can be determined. The bump filter can be used to locate regions on a surface with minimal irregularities by mapping such irregularities to a grid and then thresholding the grid to generate a cost function. Regions with a minimal cost are acceptable candidates for application of labels and other items in which a smooth surface is desirable.

  • Patent number: 11049525
Abstract: Certain embodiments involve transcript-based techniques for facilitating insertion of secondary video content into primary video content. For instance, a video editor presents a video editing interface having a primary video section displaying a primary video, a text-based navigation section having navigable portions of a primary video transcript, and a secondary video menu section displaying candidate secondary videos. In some embodiments, candidate secondary videos are obtained by using target terms detected in the transcript to query a remote data source for the candidate secondary videos. In embodiments involving video insertion, the video editor identifies a portion of the primary video corresponding to a portion of the transcript selected within the text-based navigation section. The video editor inserts a secondary video, which is selected from the candidate secondary videos based on an input received at the secondary video menu section, at the identified portion of the primary video.

  • Patent number: 10921112
Abstract: Measurement of the three dimensional morphology of blood cells is performed using a model for simulating reflectance confocal images of the cells, providing the relation between cell morphology and the resulting interference patterns under confocal illumination. The simulation model uses the top and bottom membranes of the cell as the elements for generating the interference fringes, and takes into account the cell size, shape, angle of orientation and distance from the focal point of the confocal illumination beam. By comparing the simulated cell images to actual interference patterns obtained in confocal images obtained from the blood samples, the model can be used for providing three dimensional measurements of the individual cell morphology. This enables, for instance, in vitro measurement of the mean corpuscular volume of blood cells and diagnosis of hematological disorders which are associated with cell morphology deviations, such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
