Abstract: This invention is concerned with a chamberpot for domestic pets such as dogs and cats, which employs a water-absorptive sheet as placed on a soil bed. The soil bed is surrounded by peripheral walls, one of which is continuous with a sheet containing section for storing a plurality of sheets in a manner to allow the sheets to be drawn therefrom. The above wall defines a sheet draw-out position for guiding the sheet from the sheet containing section to the soil bed. A clamp device is provided which has a frame shape corresponding to the soil bed, and defines a sheet pressing portion on bottom peripheral faces thereof for pressing a sheet on peripheries of the soil bed. This chamberpot facilitates changing of the sheet placed on the soil bed.

Abstract: Aboveground swimming pools employ ladders for permitting pool ingress and egress. Attempts to employ automatic swimming pool cleaners in aboveground pools have heretofore resulted in the cleaner becoming stuck against the sides of the pool ladder. The invention consists of a deflector member, arcuately curved and formed of flexible material, which is placed on the pool bottom to extend between the side of the ladder and the pool wall. Two such deflector members may be used, one on each side of the ladder, to prevent the pool cleaner from becoming stuck.

Abstract: A combined shower splash guard member with a shower curtain holder is provided by a molded, generally triangularly-shaped, and modified, one piece body having two straight legs that intersect at a vertex of the triangle, and a third, web-like leg that extends between the free ends of said first two legs of the splash guard. Means for holding the one piece body to a mounting for the body is provided by an adhesive strip of a length to be secured to the entire outer surface of the two straight legs of the splash guard. To accommodate the departure from the desired perpendicularity of the legs of the splash guard, a gusset means is provided in the web of the splash guard which permits the web of the one-piece body to be varied from its normally intended size and shape.

Abstract: A public sanitary cubicle comprises a sanitary room with a lavatory pan accessible via a door and a technical room separated therefrom by a partition and containing the means necessary for the supply, disposal and cleaning of the sanitary room and, in particular, a cleaning implement for the lavatory pan which can be brought into the sanitary room by a support arm for the cleaning, phase, as well as a drain. For rapid and effective cleaning the support arm carries a plurality of spray nozzles connected to a high pressure water source, whereof at least two are directed from above in different angular positions onto the lavatory pan and two or more are directed onto the sanitary room floor inclined towards the drain.

Abstract: A ventilation system for removing odorous air from a toilet bowl includes a chemically sensitive electronic transducer that senses the presence of methane gas and controls a fan and motor unit according to such presence. When the amount of methane in the toilet bowl drops below a predetermined quantity, the fan and motor unit is stopped, and such unit is started only when methane is present in such predetermined quantity.

Abstract: A whirlpool spa in which the spa filter and primary controls are mounted on an access door, which in turn is pivotally mounted along its bottom edge to the spa cabinet, whereby the primary controls and the spa filter are normally hidden from view but can readily be accessed by opening the access door.

Abstract: A low voltage battery energized passive detection system generates a control signal in response to radiated heat from a human body part to open a solenoid operated valve for a predetermined limited time period. In anticipation of a reduction of available DC power, voltage level sensing circuitry disables the valve in the closed position to prevent the valve from remaining in the open position due to an insufficiency of DC power to effect closure of the valve.

Abstract: A toilet assembly comprising a toilet bowl, an upper member including a rearward end having a width, and only one hinge including a hinge post portion connected to the toilet bowl, and a hinge leaf portion which is pivotally connected to the upper member adjacent the rearward end of the upper member and which extends across substantially the entire width of the rearward end of the upper member.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to apparatus for cleaning swimming pools, incorporating intermittent pop-up jet nozzles, the nozzles being adapted to intermittently rotate and project cleaning jets of water adjacent the inner surface of the pools. Wear and tear on the nozzle housing and related parts is minimized by use of a water delivery assembly in which the stop means for arresting upward movement of the nozzle are located in the lower part of the housing, thus eliminating bending moment of stress force against the housing and related parts. The inclusion of a retainer or cage within the housing provides other improvements in the operation of the water delivery assembly.

Abstract: A traveler's extendable bath seat is made up of two parts, the first of which is a carrying case in which the second is stored and transported. When so stored the bath seat is small enough to be carried in a briefcase or luggage. The two parts are slide coupled so that the overall length of the combination can be extended to span a bathtub. Safety locking devices are included to maintain the extendible bath seat at a fixed length and to restrain it in position atop the tub.

Abstract: A flat-folded expandable urinary aid for use by females which allows them to urinate from a standing position has an elongate flat-folded tubular portion terminating at an outlet end and a flat-folded funnel-shaped portion extending outwardly and rearwardly from the opposite end of the tubular portion terminating at an inlet end. The tubular portion and funnel-shaped portions are formed by a pair of opposed planar side walls hinged together from the inlet end to the outlet end along their top and bottom longitudinal edges. The side walls of the funnel-shaped portion are scored or creased along a pair of lines converging angularly from the juncture of the funnel-shaped portion with the tubular portion to intersect at a point approximately one-half the length of the funnel-shaped portion.

Abstract: A portable child's pool which is suitable for use outdoors is provided having a pool play area suitable for a child to wade or sit in which is surrounded by a second water-retaining unit through which a child user would pass before entering the pool play area, wherein dirt and debris picked up on the feet of the child would be removed.

Abstract: A ventilation system is provided including a blower assembly mounted within the air space in the upper portion of a toilet flush tank, which air space is communicated with the upper interior portion of the associated toilet bowl through an overflow pipe disposed in the water tank, and the blower assembly includes an air inlet opening into the air space and an air outlet with which the inlet end of conduit structure is sealingly communicated. The conduit structure includes an outlet end opening into the outlet of the associated toilet bowl below the water seal thereof and the conduit structure includes a normally closed solenoid operated flow control valve serially connected therein, the blower assembly including an electric drive motor.

Abstract: A flush-operated bathroom fan is provided which utilizes a float-operated actuator in the water closet tank of the toilet which actuates a switch, turning on the ceiling fan, when the water level in the water closet tank falls indicating that the toilet has been flushed, and when the float rises up again to the normal full-tank water level, the switch is thrown again and the fan is deactivated.

Abstract: A retractable guard for use in combination with a sewage pipe leading from a flush toilet is provided having a plurality of prongs with hooked ends positioned within a cross section of the pipe. The prongs are connected to a piston which is slidable within a cylinder, perpendicular to the pipe. Flushing the toilet causes water to be directed in the cylinder which in turn partially retracts the prongs. Water may be diverted from the cylinder to wash accumulated debris from the prongs.

Abstract: An open top basin for receiving urine is inserted into the front portion of a conventional single cavity toilet bowl. The basin has a normally closed valve in the bottom of the basin to release the accumulated urine. A float rests on the surface of the water in the toilet bowl and is connected to the valve. When the toilet bowl is flushed, the water level drops, the float drops and opens the valve to release the accumulated urine into the toilet to be flushed away.

Abstract: An infant's nursing table includes a stand which can be placed on a bath tub and which carries a table leaf arrangement. The stand has two pairs of legs which extend down on two mutually opposite sides of the table leaf arrangement and which are connected in pairs beneath the table leaf arrangement by means of two cross members. The cross members are intended to rest against two opposite bath edges and can be adjusted with respect to their lengths. The downwardly extending stand legs can be connected to respective cross members at different locations along their lengths. The legs are clamped firmly against respective cross members. Each leg is provided with a multiple of indents which are spaced along the length of the leg and which are configured to receive partially a cross member pressed laterally against said leg.

Abstract: A swimming pool with a convertible hot tub that may be easily installed or removed by a user. A barrier system, having a removable partition formed from a flexible sheet of material, is placed in the pool tank near an area that includes a hot water inlet nozzle. The partition has fasteners formed as peripheral ribs that slide into slotted channels secured to opposite sides of the tank. A water drain is located in the pool area. A water processing system, having a pump and a water heater, is connected between the drain and the inlet nozzle to remove warm water from the pool area, heat the water and supply hot water to the inlet nozzle to increase the temperature of the water in the hot tub. At equilibrium, the partition permits water to flow from the hot tub into the pool area at a rate substantially equal to the rate at which water is supplied to the hot tub via the inlet nozzle.

The apparatus includes open segments (A and B) in tank (12) so that the therapist use his or her body to push a liner (11) inside the enclosure provided by the tank or other support means for the liner. The tank is preferably vertically movable on a frame (13) to adjust to the vertical height of the tank so that the therapist can be in a standing or sitting position. The apparatus increases therapist comfort and effectiveness.

Abstract: A drain closure comprises a drain stopper having a downwardly projecting sleeve, an upwardly extending post loosely received in the sleeve, and structure carrying the post, the sleeve having at least one opening through the side thereof, and a spring carried by the sleeve and having an arm received in that opening to frictionally engage the post, whereby the sleeve, spring and stopper are adjustably movable up and down relative to the post, against frictional force exerted by the spring arm engaging the post as the arm slides relative to the post.
