Abstract: The present disclosure includes, among other things, systems, methods and program products for collaborative and non-collaborative work spaces, each of which can be defined by a workspace definition that includes a workspace identifier referring to a workspace where an application container having a user interface can instantiate the workspace based on the workspace definition, and a collection of application identifiers each referring to an application provider for an application. Each application can be configured to execute in the application container for the instantiated workspace, and each application can have a visual representation in the user interface. The workspace definition can also include one or more participants, where each participant refers to one or more workspace participants.

Abstract: A method performed by a computing device of selecting one or more items from a list displayed on a touch screen of the computing device. The method includes receiving touch commands indicating swiping motions performed by a user on the touch screen. These touch commands result in tentative selection of a list entry, followed by selection of the list entry and possibly tentative selection of adjacent list entries. These may be followed by further touch commands indicating continuing swiping motion to further tentatively or non-tentatively select proximate items.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for the computational design of linkage-based characters. The system including a display, a memory storing a software application, and a processor configured to execute the software application to display a linkage on the display, the linkage including a plurality of links and a plurality of motors, each of the plurality of links being connected to at least another of the plurality of links using one of the plurality of motors, receive a user input selecting a first link and a second link from the plurality of links and a motor from the plurality of motors, the motor being located between the first link and the second link, and generate an updated linkage by connecting the first link to the second link using a new link and replacing the motor with a pin.

Abstract: A method of processing an input received through a touch screen in a mobile terminal. The method includes displaying, if a first key to which a plurality of key values are allocated is input, a second key to which a plurality of the key values are allocated, on a screen, and determining a first key value displayed at a cursor by an input of the first key as a final input value if the second key is input, moving the cursor to a next first position, and then displaying one of the plurality of key values of the first key.

Abstract: An electronic display terminal including a display unit which displays a file including a plurality of pages on a screen for each region of the file, and a scroll bar which includes a bar displayed on a screen and an indicator which indicates a page position of a page including the region displayed on the display unit by a relative position with respect to the length of the bar, wherein the scroll bar switches a region displayed on the display unit based on a position element of a first direction that is a longitudinal direction of the bar and a position element of a second direction which is different from the first direction at a position on a screen touched by a user, and moves the indicator to a position which indicates a page position of a page including the region displayed after the region is switched.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for mapping objects. One embodiment can include a server providing an object management system managing objects in a repository and an application program interface for interfacing with the object management system. The system can also include an object mapping system configured to provide an object map of the objects in the repository in a manner that allows a user to easily navigate and take actions on the objects.

The computer processor: computes a “brand” for the user to characterize and differentiate himself from other applicants; guides them through brainstorming their unique stories or anecdotes, and then allocating their stories or personal traits amongst the discrete pieces of an application; checks to make sure that an optimal mix of stories is being used; guides a user on a strategy for soliciting strong letters of recommendation; advises on the best type of resume to construct; breaks down a specific set of essay or interview questions into sub-questions; compiles and rearranges the sub-questions into a rough draft; provides guidance on how to create a final draft; automatedly solicits editing feedback from third parties; and, prepares the user for an interview, to include recording and critiquing a mock videotaped interview.

Abstract: A novel method for graphically organizing and displaying multiple pages of internet content based on how the page was accessed. Pages are determined to be indirectly accessed if they were accessed via a hypertext link or a trail of hypertext links. Pages are determined to be directly accessed if accessed via other means, such as a bookmark or via Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Page groupings are created for each directly accessed page, and each indirectly accessed page is categorized into a grouping associated with a directly accessed page containing a link through which the indirectly accessed page was accessed. The web pages are presented to the user in an interface that is a graphical representation of the page groupings, wherein a user selects a page to view by first selecting the page's page grouping and then selecting the page.

Abstract: A software application having a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays content tiles along with the use of an electronic device to add tiles to the GUI is described in this disclosure. A predefined key on an input device is selected to indicate to display available tiles. One of the displayed available tiles is selected and the user designates a location on the display of the content tiles where to place the selected displayed available tiles. The selected tile is then inserted into the display with the plurality of tiles at the designated location and a tile previously at the designation location on the display is deleted and placed in a delete directory.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for improving user interface rendering performance. A network page is generated that is configured to defer loading of control code associated with a user interface component. The network page includes code that renders an initial view of the user interface component. The code that renders the initial view is configured to obtain one or more events generated by one or more user interactions with the initial view. The code that renders the initial view is further configured to obtain additional code in response to obtaining the one or more events. The code that renders the initial view is further configured to process the one or more events by executing the additional code.

Abstract: A method for navigating between display layers is applied in a display device. The display device includes a touch screen and a display panel. The method includes following steps of determining a target display layer according to whether a pinching gesture or an expanding gesture is performed. When the expanding gesture is performed, expanding a distance between relevant columns or rows of icons currently displayed to reveal icons on the target display layer, and visually compressing formerly-displayed icons to two opposite edges of the display panel during the expanding gesture. When the pinching gesture is performed, narrowing a distance between columns or rows of icons on the target display layer which are introduced respectively from the two opposite edges to cover columns and rows of old icons, and visually expanding the newly-introduced icons during the pinching gesture.

Abstract: Techniques for content customization with security for client preferences are described herein. The techniques describe the customization of content provided by websites according to preferences, such as the interests, “likes” and demographic and/or geographic information of users. Additional techniques describe aspects of keeping the users' preferences secure from the website, so that the users' privacy and anonymity are protected. In one implementation, a “trusted entity” is trusted by users to obtain and store the preferences. Content may be obtained by the trusted entity from a content provider, such as a website. The content may be changed according to the preferences. The content is then provided to the users. In view of the changes made by the trusted entity, the user enjoys a customized version of the content. Additional techniques describe limits to customization, based on permissible customizations and frameworks generated by the content providers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying blade chassis data are provided. One system includes a memory for storing computer code comprising a blade chassis information module and a processor capable of being in communication with a blade chassis. The processor, when executing the computer code comprising the blade chassis information module, is configured to receive the blade chassis data, create a user interface for the blade chassis data, and display the blade chassis data on the user interface. One method includes receiving blade chassis data, creating a user interface for the blade chassis data, and displaying the blade chassis data on the user interface. Also provided are physical computer storage mediums including a computer program product for performing the above method.

Abstract: The present invention includes a graphics software program that automatically creates graphical content when a user creates or modifies a hierarchical list of content data and chooses from one of a plurality of graphical definition choices for the graphical elements. In addition, the present invention includes a user interface with three different displays. The first display presents the user with one or more galleries including a gallery with a plurality of graphical definitions. The second display is a content entry area. The final display is a drawing canvas.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture that can provide for a second-person avatar. The second-person avatar can rely upon a second-person-based perspective such that the avatar is displayed to appear to encompass all or portions of a target user. Accordingly, actions or a configuration of the avatar can serve as a model or demonstration for the user in order to aid the user in accomplishing a particular task. Updates to avatar activity or configuration can be provided by a dynamic virtual handbook. The virtual handbook can be constructed based upon a set of instruction associated with accomplishing the desired task and further based upon features or aspects of the user as well as those of the local environment.
