  • Patent number: 10684391
Abstract: A method includes obtaining a plurality of master sensor responses with a master sensor in a set of training fluids and obtaining node sensor responses in the set of training fluids. A linear correlation between a compensated master data set and a node data set is then found for a set of training fluids and generating node sensor responses in a tool parameter space from the compensated master data set on a set of application fluids. A reverse transformation is obtained based on the node sensor responses in a complete set of calibration fluids. The reverse transformation converts each node sensor response from a tool parameter space to the synthetic parameter space, and uses transformed data as inputs of various fluid predictive models to obtain fluid characteristics. The method includes modifying operation parameters of a drilling or a well testing and sampling system according to the fluid characteristics.

  • Patent number: 10650175
Abstract: Methods for simulating hydrocarbon (HC) migration and accumulation in a subsurface formation are provided. The methods include determining a plurality of HC mass associated with a plurality of grid cells representing the subsurface formation. The methods also include determining a plurality of HC mass outflow magnitudes for one or more grid cells in the plurality of grid cells, the HC mass outflow magnitude for each of the one or more grid cells having an upper bound value based on the HC mass in that grid cell. The methods update the HC mass of the plurality of grid cells based on the plurality of HC mass outflow magnitudes. The methods also determine that a set of grid cells in the plurality of grid cells contain an excess mass of HC, and perform an accumulation process to model filling of a trap associated with the set of grid cells.

  • Patent number: 10643010
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for grouping bridges in a simulation are presented. In some examples, grouping bridges may result in more efficient usage of data connections in a simulation and less duplicative data being sent during the simulation. The simulation may be performed by receiving an indication of a streaming query for each worker of a plurality of workers in a worker layer. A plurality of bridges in a bridge layer may be run, and the plurality of bridges may be configured to facilitate data communications between the plurality of workers in the worker layer and one or more databases in a database layer. Each worker of the plurality of workers may be assigned to a different bridge of the plurality of bridges. Based on the streaming query for each worker, the plurality of bridges may be grouped into different groups of bridges.

  • Patent number: 10607043
Abstract: In reservoir hydrocarbon exploration, fracture characteristics of subsurface reservoir formations are analyzed based on measures obtained about the subsurface formations and rock. Models of subsurface reservoirs are developed with predictions of natural fracture networks within the subject subsurface reservoirs. The mechanical properties of the formation rock in the reservoirs serve as a main controller to model the natural fractures distribution and their properties. The models so formed are important in the location and completion of wells for hydrocarbon exploration and production.

  • Patent number: 10599796
Abstract: A true random metastable flip-flop (TRMFF) compiler generates an electrical architecture for a TRMFF chain. The compiler selects components for the TRMFF chain from a library of standard cells and logically connects these components in accordance with a primitive polynomial to generate the electrical architecture. The TRMFF chain provides a sequence of random numbers from one or more physical processes in accordance with the primitive polynomial. During operation, one or more microscopic phenomena inside and/or outside of the TRMFF chain can cause one or more low-level, statistically random entropy noise signals to be present within the TRMFF chain. The TRMFF chain advantageously utilizes the one or more low-level, statistically random entropy noise signals to provide the sequence of random numbers.

  • Patent number: 10592621
Abstract: A method for determining a stiffness of a tube bundle heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a core tube and a plurality of coil tubes coiled around the core tube to form a tube bundle having a plurality of coil layers at a respective layer coiling angle. The method determines a geometric strength parameter for a coil layer, the strength parameter being an area ratio of a coil-tube cross-sectional area to a cell cross-sectional area resulting from the axial spacing of the coil tubes and an outer diameter of the coil tubes. The area ratio is corrected by a correction factor taking the orientation of the coil tubes of the coil layer in relation to the force of gravity acting on the coil tubes into consideration. The stiffness of the respective coil layer is determined from the corrected area ratio and a modulus of elasticity of the coil-tube material.

  • Patent number: 10551258
Abstract: Provided is a residual stress estimation method and a residual stress estimation device capable of suppressing the number of cut pieces to be collected for measuring inherent strain without deteriorating residual stress estimation accuracy. In a case where it is assumed that the inherent strain is uniformly distributed in one direction in a structure, a user measures residual stress from a cut piece collected in a region in which the inherent strain is uniformly distributed and inputs the measured value to the residual stress estimation device. The residual stress estimation device estimates a two-dimensional inherent strain distribution on an analysis surface perpendicular to the one direction in the structure using the input residual stress measured value, transfers the estimated two-dimensional inherent strain distribution to the one direction, and estimates a three-dimensional inherent strain distribution in the structure.

  • Patent number: 10509877
Abstract: Systems, methods, and products having pipelined inputs to and outputs from an emulator are disclosed. Using a pipeline may allow the round trip cable delay (RTCD) to be spread across two or more clock cycles. In an embodiment, an emulation system may store input data received from a target device during a first clock cycle at a target timing domain interfacing component (TTD), and transmit the stored input data during a second clock cycle after the first clock cycle. In another embodiment, the emulation system may delay transmitting the input data received at the TTD during the first clock cycle such that that the input data reaches the emulator at a predetermined time during the second clock cycle. As the RTCD is spread across multiple clock cycles, the emulation system may implement faster clocks.
