Abstract: Provided are a communication system, a communication device, and a power saving method, which enable a communication partner device to reliably recognize a communication unit switched to an ON state in response to reception of a predetermined signal from the communication partner device. A BLE chip transmits a BLE BD address when a BT3 chip is in an OFF state. A mobile terminal identifies a BT3 BD address associated with the BLE BD address received from a BLE chip based on stored correspondence data. A card reader switches the state of the BT3 chip to an ON state when the BLE chip receives a predetermined signal transmitted from the mobile terminal. The BT3 chip switched to an ON state starts to communicate data to be used for predetermined information processing to and from the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 11416618
Abstract: A root of trust may include one or more hardware components of an IHS (Information Handling System) that operate using validated hardware instructions. Once a root of trust has been established, it may be extended by validating additional components and the instructions by which these components operate. A chain of trusted boot components may be used to securely initialize a set of components required to support core functions of the IHS. In order to detect components of a trusted boot chain that have been compromised, boot chain components validate their own instructions as well as the instructions to be utilized by the next boot component and the instructions utilized by the prior boot component, thus providing bidirectional validation of trusted boot chain components.

  • Patent number: 11392391
Abstract: A BIOS image can be selectively updated. An image loader of the BIOS can be configured to detect whether a BIOS image to be loaded includes a selective update capability field, and if so, employ a value defined in the selective update capability field to determine whether an updated BIOS image exists. When an updated BIOS image exists, the image loader can load the updated BIOS image rather than the BIOS image. In this way, an individual BIOS image can be selectively updated without needing to update the entire BIOS.

  • Patent number: 11221661
Abstract: A power device discovery and visualization system identifies and categorizes smart power and energy devices deployed within an industrial enterprise, and generates interfaces that render customized presentations of a plant's power and energy usage based on data retrieved from the discovered devices. The system also facilitates remote configuration of the discovered smart devices via interaction with a single consolidated interface that affords access to all discovered power and energy devices. The system constructs a device profile for each discovered smart device based on information retrieved from the device, and categorizes each discovered device according to device type (e.g., power meter, IED, VFD, controller, etc.). The system retrieves available historical, real-time, and/or configuration data from each discovered smart device and makes this data available for viewing or modification via the system interface, thereby unifying plantwide power and energy data into a common presentation.
