Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method are disclosed for communicating vehicle repair data among a plurality of parties, wherein a data pump is employed to automate the extraction of vehicle repair data such as labor hours estimation data from a repair facility computer system for delivery to interested parties, including a rental vehicle service provider that provides replacement rental vehicles to drivers whose vehicles are undergoing repairs at repair facilities. A reservation management computer system operated by the rental vehicle service provider can thus use the received vehicle repair data to facilitate management of replacement rental vehicle reservations by its business partners, such as insurance companies.

Abstract: A method supplying AC power and billing a customer using frequency regulation credits. The method includes using an AC frequency measuring device, measuring a current AC frequency on an AC power line; using a power consumption measuring device, measuring a current power consumption on the AC power line over a period of time equal to a sampling interval; calculating a power consumption moving average of a last N power current power consumptions measured, where N is a positive integer greater than 1; generating credits or debits based on the current power consumption, the current AC frequency and the power consumption moving average; adding the credits or debits to a frequency regulation credit; and for each next sampling interval repeating measuring the current AC frequency, measuring current power consumption, calculating the power consumption moving average, generating the credits or debits, and adding the credits or debits to the frequency regulation credit.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, system, methods and computer program products are configured for providing at least one customized communication to a recipient of one or more packages shipped by a consignor via a common carrier. One or more computer processors are configured to: receive at least a portion of customized content; retrieve at least a portion of consignee data, the portion comprising one or more parameters established by the recipient; compare the one or more components of the customized content with the one or more parameters established by the recipient so as to identify one or more correlations there-between; in response to identifying at least one correlation, generate at least one customized communication for provision to the recipient, the at least one customized communication containing at least a portion of the customized content; and in response to identifying no correlations, generate at least one standard communication containing no customized content.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention generally relate to systems and methods for identifying suspicious orders for controlled substances based on performing checks on a received order using historical information on previous orders. According to various embodiments, these checks may include: (1) comparing the order quantity for the received order with the order quantity history for the customer who placed the order for the controlled substance; (2) comparing the order quantity and the days since the last order was shipped to the customer for the same controlled substance with the order quantity history and the days between orders for the particular customer and controlled substance; (3) comparing the order quantity with order quantity history for orders received by customers of the same type for the controlled substance; and (4) comparing the order quantity with order quantity history for any customer for the particular controlled substance.

Abstract: Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide a barcode image. A client is operable to create a request for a barcode image and send the request to a server. The request comprises data to be converted to a barcode. The server is operable to receive the request from the client via a network, generate a barcode image from the data, and encode the barcode image. Thereafter, the server provides the encoded image to the client.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a computerized system for and method of providing precision healthcare services such as consultation, education, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, or treatment at a distance via encrypted real-time image and audio presence where the healthcare professional's assessment, diagnosis, and intervention activities are informed by patient feedback, smart objects, and artificial intelligence and patient outcomes are optimized through recursive system feedback. The present invention is unlimited with regard to the type of patient entity or healthcare professional entity.

Abstract: Features are disclosed relating to a collaborative ticketing system that manages various aspects of ticketing for events (e.g., movies, concerts, sporting events, and the like) using knowledge about the contacts, friends, and other social connections of system users. The collaborative ticketing system may generate dynamic ticket offers that are based on the number of friends, invited by users, ultimately obtaining tickets. The collaborative ticketing system can also streamline the procurement of concessions and other event-related items by allowing users to pre-purchase such items (e.g., in connection with ticket offers), and then pick up the items at the event venue with little or no wait. In addition, users can preview event-related content (e.g., movie trailers) for event providers (e.g., movie studios), and answer questions or otherwise provide feedback about the event-related content in return for special offers, rewards, and other considerations.

Abstract: A system comprising an analog liber optic cable or cables with embedded or attached interferometric detectors along its length configured to detect a predetermined security trading opportunity by interferometric constructive or destructive interference. Upon detection of the predetermined trading opportunity the system is configured to send trading instructions to the opposite ends of the fiber optic network and to translate those trading instructions from analog to digital encoding.

Abstract: Mobile payments integrated with a booking system. In one embodiment, for example, a method in a service provider computer system is performed. The service provider computer system is communicatively coupled to a computing device of a user and a merchant point-of-sale computer by one or more data networks. The method comprises: receiving a request from the computing device of the user to pay a ticket open at the merchant point-of-sale computer; obtaining a current total ticket amount for the ticket from the merchant point-of-sale computer; determining an estimated total ticket amount based at least in part on the current total ticket amount; authorizing but not capturing payment of the estimated total ticket amount with a payment network gateway computer; after the ticket is closed at the merchant point-of-sale computer, obtaining a final total ticket amount for the ticket from the merchant point-of-sale computer; and capturing payment of the final total ticket amount with the payment network gateway computer.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and computer program product for determining a share of power consumption by an application executing on a server. The method includes obtaining metrics relating to operation of the server and obtaining metrics relating to server resource utilization attributable to the application. A transformation is then performed using the metrics relating to operation of the server and server resource utilization attributable to the application to determine the respective share of power consumption by the application executing on the server. Additionally, greenhouse-gases attributable to the application also may be calculated.

Abstract: A system and method for dynamically creating individualized, multi-media messages and to deliver the messages to specific target groups or individual viewers. A message, story, or advertisement is assembled on demand, based upon rules applied to each viewer's profile and a library of media segments. The framework for the final personalized message is a story or message template designed for a campaign. A set of viewer profiles is assembled from designated databases for each of the targeted entities. A collection of media segments is also created or selected and then made available to produce the final personalized message at assembly time. Specific media segments are selected and merged according to the message template and information about the viewer derived from each viewer's profile. The information from the viewer profile is interpreted by a rule system to determine which of several potential media segments to select for use in the personalized message.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for controlling a water supply system having at least one pump and at least one storage facility. Also disclosed are a system and method of establishing a pumping schedule for a water supply system having at least one pump and at least one storage facility. The systems and methods are adapted to minimize the economic cost associated with operating the pump(s) of the water supply system. Another aspect of the systems and methods includes meeting operational constraints of the water supply system.

Abstract: A system and method for instantly printing PC postage before establishing a postage meter account. The method includes the steps of a meter vendor obtaining a first meter license from the Post for a first meter; loaning the use of a first meter licensed in the customer's zip code to a customer; requesting a second meter license for the customer; initializing the first meter for use by the customer; and transferring the first meter to the Customer's meter license when the second meter license is received. Alternatively, when the second meter license is received a second meter is assigned to the customer and the first meter is reassigned to the meter vendor.

Abstract: A system and method for online creation and integration of service of process functions is provided, for use in conjunction with paper or electronic filing of court papers. By logging on to a web page, the user can access a rules and decision matrix database providing the rules and requirements for process service by jurisdiction and type. Such rules can be incorporated into process requests using online tools and document management software. Once entered, the requests are compiled in a database, and a system controller coordinates with affiliated process servers to procure process service in the desired jurisdiction.

Abstract: A method for reducing a risk associated with a commodity. The method is implemented at least in part by a computer and includes offering to supply the commodity to a commodity consumer. The offer includes an obligation to supply a first quantity of the commodity at a first price during a first period of time, an obligation to supply a second quantity of the commodity at a second price during a second period of time, and an obligation to supply a third quantity of the commodity at a third price during a third period of time. The second price is within a first price band defined by the first price, and the third price is within a second price band defined by the second price.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for providing services, and for enabling changes in the services, are described herein. The services are, for example, continuous, recurring, and/or periodic, and include utility service, periodical delivery service, insurance, etc., and combinations thereof. Customers can issue instructions to service providers (over the Internet, for example) to modify services being provided to the customer. Upon receipt of those instructions, a corresponding service provider takes appropriate action to adjust the service in accordance with the instructions. Customers may also define Service Adjustment Triggers, which specify one or more conditions and one or more changes to the service. Occurrence of the conditions results in implementation of the changes.

Abstract: A method for generating a home energy efficiency label based on real-time measurements of gas-energy usage of a household and outside temperature data. The home energy efficiency label is calculated by correlating energy usage of the household to the outside temperature and presented to a home owner in real-time on a computer screen, thereby enabling prediction of potential energy savings by lowering indoor climate temperatures. The home energy efficiency label certifies home energy efficiency and can be used on a housing market including home appraising and financing.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for receiving inputs at a portable computer used by personal typically operating a delivery vehicle providing delivery services, where the inputs potentially impact completion of a pre-established dispatch plan according to certain delivery criteria. The inputs include modifications to the manifest, updates regarding weather or traffic conditions, or other factors impacting the remaining deliveries. The inputs are examined to determine if modification of the original dispatch plan are warranted, and if so, a signal is generated triggering the processing of the original dispatch plan to produce an updated dispatch plan meeting the certain delivery criteria. The certain delivery criteria may involve commitments for completing deliveries by certain time frames.

Abstract: A computer implemented process of reviewing a manuscript and determining whether to print the manuscript into a publication substantially reduces the time and cost for authors to deliver the manuscript to journals and publishers. The process also reduces the personnel effort required to process and approve a manuscript on the publisher side. Furthermore, the computer implemented process can timely and accurately track information related to the determination process and the final decision over the manuscript back to the author. As a result, a more efficient and effective manuscript review process can be achieved.
