Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a display controller; a letter-size setting section that sets a letter size of a letter string over a plurality of lines which has been entered through an edit screen; and a print controller that prints the letter string in the letter size set by the letter-size setting section. The letter-size setting section can differently set letter sizes of the letter string. When a line feed operation is performed at a head or end of an n-th line through the edit screen, a letter size of the n-th line preset in accordance with a user's designation, the letter-size setting section sets a letter size of one of the n-th line and an (n+1)-th line after the line feed operation so that a length of letter string over the plurality of lines is equal to or shorter than a length of the printable area.

Abstract: A terminal device is connected to a printing device on which a medium storage body accommodating a print medium is mounted. The printing device performs desired printings with using different types of the print media, and prepares a plurality of print labels which are laid and pasted in a thickness direction of the print labels to constitute a print label body. The terminal device receives a color-code setting for each of a plurality of regions provided on the print label body, determines a color setting on each of the plurality of print labels so as to realize a color-coding on the print label body corresponding to the received color-code setting, and displays, on a display unit of the terminal device, the determined color setting on the plurality of print labels.

Abstract: A printing system includes an offline estimation device that provides estimates for ink or toner use for a print job at a target printing device. The offline estimation device retrieves digital front end (DFE) version information, configuration setting information, and color printing resources from the target printing device. Using the DFE version information, the offline estimation device selects a raster image processor (RIP) from a plurality of RIPs of software versions available within the printing system. The offline estimation device configures the RIP with configuration settings of the configuration setting information. The color printing resources also are pushed to the RIP. The offline estimation device provides the ink or toner use estimate using the configured RIP.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus (10) includes a display device (21), a controller (28), a storage device (26), and an operation device (22). The controller (28) executes a job. In the storage device (26), setting information of the job is stored, each time the controller (28) executes the job, in association with date and time of execution of the job, as job history. The controller (28) determines a search period according to date and time of operation performed by a user, and retrieves the job setting information the date and time of execution of which is included in the search period, from the job history stored in the storage device (26). Abstract: Methods for identifying and generating a preview set of documents for use with variable data printing operations reduce the number of records that are previewed using filtering criteria. Records to be included in the preview set include text objects having text variables, image objects having image variables, and barcode objects having barcode variables. Records for the preview set also include those defined by rules and associated conditions based on data provided to generate the documents. A better representation of the variable data print job is provided.
