Abstract: A display method for a display device is provided. The display method comprises activating a Head Mounted Theater (HMT) mode, the HMT mode displaying two images which are substantially same each other on first and second areas respectively, separated from each other, in a display area of the display device; and adjusting a display time, for displaying a black screen in the first and second areas, of a unit frame time when the HMT mode is activated.

Abstract: A system comprises a first display driver interface circuit configured to receive a plurality of software control instructions regarding a display device, and a second display driver interface circuit configured to deliver a first control signal to a display device in response to a first of the plurality of software control instructions, and to deliver a second control signal to the display device in response to a second of the plurality of software control instructions. The first control signal directs at least a portion of the display device into a light emitting mode when pixel data to be displayed by that portion of the display device is variable over a determined number of consecutive frames, and the second control signal directs at least a portion of the display device into an electronic paper mode when pixel data to be displayed by that portion of the display device is fixed over the determined number of consecutive frames.

Abstract: A method using hardware button(s) dispatches gestures for motion-disabled users. It displays a translucent layer, on top of underlying applications, which intercepts user touch events (preventing inadvertent gestures) and modifies (x?,y?) based on dampened differences of most recent intercepted event coordinates (swabs). The method operates in three modes identified by translucent colors and/or digits (how many button pushes before invocation): mode 1 dispatches short taps at (x?,y?); mode 2 displays extending arrow while the user swabs (x?,y?) until the second push, which dispatches scrolling in arrow direction; mode 3 creates an arrow and pivot. Pivot size and color indicate magnification/demagnification. The third push dispatches zooming when pivot and arrow are collinear; otherwise it dispatches rotation. A special case of mode 2 dispatches a long tap.

Abstract: A sensor device which is adapted for detecting target molecules having a target nucleic acid sequence located in nano/micro channels, comprises a THz source for exciting the target molecules and a heterodyne interferometer, having a detection frequency MHz, for probing the excited molecules. The nano-channel array in the sample holder is functionalized with electric field to linearize the target alleles and genes. The linearized molecules are exposed to THz field whereby the different vibrational modes of base pairs are resonantly excited. The excitation of base-breathing mode and base-shifting mode leads to differential induced dipole moments along and perpendicular to the double helix axis. This induced asymmetry in polarizability leads to optical anisotropy. The dipole-dipole interaction between adjacent bases affects polarizability along the helix axis and hence the intrinsic molecular anisotropy is a function of number of base pairs in the strand.
Abstract: A portable input device is described. The portable input device can wirelessly send control signals to an external circuit. The control signals can derive from touch or gestures applied to a touch sensitive surface. The control signals can also include a mouse click equivalent control signal generated by mechanical manipulation of the portable input device.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for monitoring and controlling the distribution of electricity. The power distribution platform includes an intelligent device that controls power delivery to a singular or plurality of end users. The device controls the times during which energy is delivered, and limits the electrical current available on a per socket basis. By limiting current draw, system operators can ensure that only high value appliances (LED lights, phone charging etc.) are powered. Local intermediaries buy credit in bulk from a power system operator, then sell it to users via a portable digital storage medium and mobile device in increments of days, weeks or months. Once loaded with credit, a user's power program is allowed to continue running for the specified duration. Further aspects of the embodiment include; usage data logging to cloud server, power theft detection and methods of synchronizing internal clocks of each intelligent device.
Abstract: Techniques, methods, systems, devices, and computer readable medium are disclosed from an oral cavity of a user identifying a feature in the user's oral cavity, tracking the feature as it changes, and determining a condition based on the tracking of the feature in the user's oral cavity. The user can use an interface provided by the device's user interface for activities such as biofeedback, controlling functions of the device and other devices, receiving information from external devices or the device, etc.
Abstract: The usage of a new key on an existing keyboard that would have the symbol of a lock on it that when used in conjunction with other keys, such as, an alphabetical key, a number key, a symbol key, and/or an alpha character key when clicked would result in showing a color keyboard on an existing cellular telephone or mobile device would help the user or owner of the telephone to create or type a complicated password to gain access to the various functions of the cellular device.

Abstract: This invention discloses a controller and method for a cyber synchronous machine (CSM, in short, cybersync machine), namely, a power electronic converter that is seamlessly equipped with computational algorithms (i.e., the controller) to represent the intrinsic and fundamental principles of physical synchronous machines. The CSM can be operated in the grid-connected mode or the islanded mode to take part in the regulation of the frequency and the voltage. The controller also includes auxiliary blocks to achieve self-synchronization without measuring or estimating the grid frequency and the regulation of real power and reactive power to the given reference values without static errors. The control signal for the power electronic converter can be the output voltage generated by the engendering block or the sum of the output voltage and the virtual current.
Abstract: A wake from OFF state system is described that enhances power adapters and battery chargers that have been shut completely off in efforts to conserve energy. Wake from OFF state devices may be used to automate the otherwise tedious process of turning on a power switch. A wake from OFF state device is distinguished from a wake from sleep state device which continues to consume some amount of power to operate in a standby mode. A wake from OFF state power adapter can be turned fully off and left off indefinitely. There are no active standby circuits, no power consumption, no active logic, no emissions, no heat, when the device is in this OFF state. Wake from OFF state is useful for a variety of devices including (but not limited to) smartphones, portable computers, power tools, electric vehicles, and rechargeable batteries.
Abstract: A multitude of clinical research studies have validated the superiority of impulse oscillometry (IOS) over spirometry because it is far more sensitive in the detection of pulmonary diseases and since it is effort-independent, it can be successfully used in children as young as six-months old. By miniaturizing the IOS to be a hand-held and portable device, the present invention takes IOS technology out of the exclusive environments of the research lab and specialty Pulmonology office. Also by advancing the technology, the manufacturing cost is greatly reduced thereby making the device affordable and available to the average primary care physician for use in their office. In addition, as the present invention becomes available as a home-use device, it will significantly improve the home management of complex respiratory diseases, i.e., Asthma and COPD. The present invention, being a miniaturized and electromagnetically piston-driven IOS, is truly unique in its concept and technology.
Abstract: Methods and system for creating dynamic maps are disclosed. A system for map creation for bodies of water may comprise an application server associated with a plurality of navigation devices, wherein the application server is configured to: (a) receive data from said plurality of navigation devices, the data including water-site information, time, and location; (b) perform statistical analysis on the data received by said plurality of devices; (c) determine the existence of bodies of water based at least on the statistical analysis; and (d) generate a dynamic map including one or more of water depth charts and heat maps based at least on the statistical analysis.
Abstract: Implementations of various computer methods to couple a computerized ball device which acts as a mobile computing device to record the users environment and project light towards waveguide eyeglasses or contacts which then allows a user to view imbedded light structure holograms in the waveguide while viewing the actual world. The computer ball device additionally has the ability to be docked in a drone cradle which creates a database map of the user's environment while not being utilized by the user for an immediate task. The device may also attach to a wrist band for mobility. The device also has the ability to couple the projected light structures so that a plurality of users may view the same light structure content to build an environment of trust. The device decouples the traditional design of head mounted virtual and mixed reality that place together the camera with the head mounted device.
Abstract: A system and method for providing a touch control system are disclosed. In one aspect a touch screen interface on a mechanical keyboard is disclosed. A touch sensing area on a keyboard having mechanical key mechanisms also provides a touch sensing surface. Touch position on the keyboard is detected and used to control a user interface. Unique touch sensing systems are also disclosed.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, a system and a computer readable storage medium for circuit simulation, comprising: partitioning circuit into a subcircuit-1 and a subcircuit-2 which are connected through at least one port; generating equivalent circuit of subcircuit-1 based on port current/port voltage, subcircuit-1 port voltage under port open-circuit condition/subcircuit-1 port current under port short-circuit condition, and impulse-response of subcircuit-1 port voltage to port current/impulse-response of subcircuit-1 port current to port voltage; simulating a simplified circuit comprising the subcircuit-2 and the equivalent circuit. Comparing with prior art, this disclosure reduces circuit scale by equivalence of linear portion of circuit. Thereby computation amount for circuit simulation is reduced and the computation time for circuit simulation is shortened.
