  • Patent number: 9942144
Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) link aggregation groups (LAGs) between a server and a data center switch in a data center. The techniques enable an access switch in the data center switch to assign class identifiers to each member link in an FCoE LAG between an FCoE node (Enode) of the server and the access switch. In this way, the access switch is able to redirect FCoE traffic from a Fiber Channel forwarder (FCF) of a storage area network (SAN) toward the Enode on the correct member link of the FCoE LAG. The techniques also enable scaling of FCoE initialization protocol (FIP) and FCoE sessions by installing FIP snooping filters that use on a source media access control (MAC) address hit determination in ingress filter processors (IFPs) of the access switch to avoid session limitations of virtual local area network (VLAN) filter processors (VFPs).

  • Patent number: 9929882
Abstract: A receiver for a wireless device. A channel estimation module is configured to calculate a first channel estimate on a first tone of a data packet and calculate a second channel estimate on a second tone of the data packet. A phase roll estimation module is configured to calculate a conjugate of the second channel estimate and calculate, using the first channel estimate and the conjugate of the second channel estimate, an estimate of a phase roll caused by an error in symbol timing of the data packet. The phase roll corresponds to a difference between phases across adjacent tones of the data packet. The phase roll estimation module is further configured to calculate, based on the estimate of the phase roll, a timing advance to be applied to the symbol timing of the data packet. The timing advance corresponds to a number of samples of the data packet.

  • Patent number: 9912615
Abstract: A device may store a data structure containing entries and times associated with the entries. The device may determine a fullness level associated with the data structure. The device may determine an expiration threshold based on the fullness level of the data structure. The device may identify a first group of entries, of the entries in the data structure, based on times associated with the first group of entries satisfying the expiration threshold. The device may remove the first group of entries from the data structure. The device may randomly select, based on a probability associated with the fullness level, a second group of entries of the entries in the data structure. The device may remove the second group of entries from the data structure.

  • Patent number: 9876528
Abstract: A single channel full duplex wireless communication system includes a processor, a transmitter, a receiver, a secondary transmission path, a combining element, a primary transmission feedback path and a secondary transmission feedback path. The transmitter transmits a transmission signal via a transmission path. The receiver receives a received signal via a reception path. The transmitter and the receiver utilize one channel to transmit and receive signals. The transmission signal causes self-interference. The processor estimates a first transfer function and feeds the secondary transmission path with the transmission signal adjusted by the first transfer function to reduce the transmission signal leaked to the reception path. The combining element combines the transmission signal with the adjusted secondary transmission path signal to remove the self-interference. The primary transmission feedback path output is modified by a second transfer function.

  • Patent number: 9872209
Abstract: A data communication system pre-registers User Equipment (UE) to a Long Term Evolution (LTE) tracking area in an LTE network before the UE attaches to the LTE network. A voice communication network receives a release message for a user voice session and responsively transfers a pre-attachment message to an MME in the LTE network comprising a UE Identifier (ID), a serving base station ID, and an indication that the UE will attach to the LTE network. The MME processes the base station ID to select an LTE network Physical Cell Identity (PCI), processes the LTE network PCI to select an LTE tracking area, and pre-registers the UE ID to the selected LTE tracking area. An LTE base station receives an attachment request from the UE based on the LTE network PCI and responsively attaches the UE to the LTE network without performing a tracking area update.

  • Patent number: 9785977
Abstract: An online direct marketing and advertising system is presented in which advertisers have an opportunity to send targeted promotions, coupons and offers that are placed in a user's web-based email account without the drawbacks of sending conventional email. The promotions do not take up disk quota space and, at the same time, the system does not need to divulge private user information to the advertiser. This system provides a means to free web-based email providers from the need to obtain opt-in permission to send offers to their users as providers are frequently prohibited from sharing the user's email address and personal information with merchants.

  • Patent number: 9756587
Abstract: According to an embodiment, an estimation apparatus includes first to fourth obtainers and an estimator. The first obtainer obtains, for each slave node, a piece of synchronization information in a network configuration including: nodes including a master node serving as a time synchronization source, one or more slave nodes serving as time synchronization destinations, and relay nodes; and paths connecting the nodes. The second obtainer obtains, for each path, a piece of band information. The third obtainer obtains, for each path, a piece of traffic information. The fourth obtainer obtains, for each relay node, a piece of path information. The estimator estimates a predetermined relay node causing reduction of accuracy of time synchronization between the master node and the one or more slave nodes, based on the one or more pieces of synchronization information, the pieces of band information, the pieces of traffic information, and the pieces of path information.

  • Patent number: 9749296
Abstract: Contact information in SIP signaling messages is modified at each in-path network device during the signaling process (along with storage of mapping information) to allow the in-path network devices (and proxy server) to identify the next (or previous) hop device in the path, and thus, maintain the path taken by signaling messages early on during the signaling process. Subsequent request and response signaling messages transmitted during the session follow this path, which ensures that the in-path network devices remain in the SIP signaling path.

  • Patent number: 9730261
Abstract: A hierarchical protocol classification and signaling method specifies the interworking protocols used to send circuit-switched signaling messages to and from a mobile terminal in a packet-switched network. A set of possible interworking protocols are divided into two more classes that correspond to different types of interworking protocols. Within each class, different versions of the interworking protocol are specified by a revision value. The versions of the interworking protocols within a given class are may be denominated such that the versions with a higher revision value are backward compatible with versions having a lower value. When a circuit services domain message is sent from a sending device to a receiving device, an interworking option specifying the class/revision of the interworking protocol is transmitted along with circuit services domain messages. The interworking option may be inserted into the header of a tunneling packet containing the circuit services domain message.
