Abstract: Provided are devices, computer-program products, and methods related to removing redundant data associated with frames. For example, a method can include storing a plurality of reference data sets in a reference database, where a reference data set is associated with a media segment. The method can further include receiving, by a server, cue data for a frame. The cue data includes a plurality of pixel data samples from the frame, and the frame is associated with an unidentified media segment. The method can further include identifying an absence of a pixel data sample from the cue data for the frame, and matching the cue data for the frame to a reference data set. The matching can include using a previous pixel data sample from a previous frame. The previous pixel data sample corresponds to the pixel data sample absent from the frame, and the reference data set is associated with a media segment. The method can further include determining the unidentified media segment is the media segment.

Abstract: A client device receives, from a server, first content directed to a first buffer in the client device and second content directed to a second buffer in the client device. The client device buffers the first content in the first buffer and buffers the second content in the second buffer. At least a portion of the second content is buffered in the second buffer substantially simultaneously with buffering the first content in the first buffer. The client device receives a command from a virtual set-top application, running on the server, that corresponds to the client device. The client device runs a virtual set-top local client that receives the command from the virtual set-top application and selects the first buffer as a content source. The selecting is performed in accordance with the command. The client device provides the selected content for display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing virality for a content item are disclosed herein. A content item is uploaded to a content sharing platform over a communication network. Feedback on the content item is received from the content sharing platform over the communication network. Based on the feedback, a virality score for the content item is determined and a determination is made as to whether the virality score meets a virality criterion. In response to a determination that the virality score does not meet the virality criterion, a virality enhancement technique is selected from a virality enhancement database, the content item is modified by applying the virality enhancement technique to the content item, and the modified content item is uploaded to the content sharing platform over the communication network.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to classify all other tuning (AOT) data are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a media interface to access first channel information corresponding to a first record at a first time. An operating state identifier is to store the channel information corresponding to the first record at the first time in a data store. An AOT identifier is to determine the first record is classified as AOT data. A comparator is to compare the channel information at the first time with second channel information at a second time, wherein the second channel information at the second time corresponds to a previously classified media record. A record updater is to, when the first channel information matches the second channel information, update the first record with a media identification from the matched classification classified media record and store the updated first record in the data store.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided with a solution to adjacent channel interference when a multi-carrier modulation system (e.g., OFDM) replaces a legacy modulation system and co-exists with it for a period of time. The adjacent channel interference can be reduced by blocking (setting to 0) and not using some of the carriers at the edge of the spectrum during the transition period. This effectively reduces the bandwidth of the channel and consequently, the adjacent channel interference caused by the multi-carrier signal. However, at some point in time, the legacy system will be turned off and the adjacent channel interference into the original channels will no longer be important. The present principles propose a mechanism to allow for the unblocking of the removed carriers once the interference problem becomes less strict.

Network apparatus is configured to transmit a “delta file” to content distribution apparatus with transcoded content and instructions to signal modifying the pre-broadcast content. Content distribution apparatus is configured to receive transcoded pre-broadcast content and “delta file” with instructions from network apparatus. Content distribution apparatus removes the distribution indicator from the transcoded pre-broadcast content once the signaling instructions indicates that the broadcast content corresponds with pre-broadcast content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for translating a non-playback command into a playback modification to encourage a recipient of the command to execute on the command. A media guidance application may determine a command from a first user to a second user. The media guidance application may compare the command to a set of playback operation commands for a media asset that is currently being played back. The media guidance application may determine that the command is not contained within the set of playback operation commands. In response to determining that the command is not contained within the set of commands, the media guidance application may determine whether the second user executes a desired outcome of the command. And in response to determining that the second user does not execute the desired outcome of the command, the media guidance application may determine whether to modify playback of the media asset.

Abstract: Method to control IoT devices (e.g. smart lamps, smart air conditioner, etc.) through a smart DTV device. Main control is synchronized with the video scene of the transport stream (open/cable/satellite DTV channel) through data added by broadcaster. The broadcaster chooses the desired IoT devices that will be controlled by the channel and the effects that will be reproduced on all devices. The broadcaster can use some multiplexing tool to add the commands synchronized with the desirable video scene together with the other data present at TS flow. The broadcaster datacasts certain data to all home DTV appliances or receivers tuned to that channel. In the receiver side, this data is filtered, processed and transmitted to all IoT devices on the home network and, also paired with the TV receiver.

Abstract: This invention disclosure relates to a community access television (CATV) signal distribution system which improves signal isolation issues for systems which are distributing both CATV signals and in-home entertainment (IHE) signals. The signal distribution system includes a signal input port, a first multi-port signal splitter and a second multi-port signal splitter. The first multi-port signal splitter is coupled to the signal input port through a first diplexer, and the second multi-port signal splitter is coupled to the signal input port through a second diplexer. In some embodiments the first diplexer high-pass node and the second diplexer high-pass node are coupled together. In some embodiment the signal distribution system includes a signal output port coupled to the signal input port through a third diplexer. The high-pass node of the third diplexer is coupled to the high-pass node of the first diplexer.
