Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes providing an interface that permits a first user to broadcast a live video to one or more second users. The method also includes determining that at least one predetermined condition for taking a commercial break during the live video has been met. The method also includes, after determining that at least one of the predetermined conditions has been met, displaying a selectable option within the interface that permits the first user to begin the commercial break. The method also includes, after receiving an indication that the first user has selected the selectable option to begin the commercial break, beginning the commercial break by ceasing to display the live video to the one or more second users after a predetermined amount of time and displaying one or more commercials to the one or more second users during the commercial break.

Abstract: An interactive media player includes an input interface configured to receive a user input signal, a receiver configured to receive content and data from a server, a synchronizer configured to synchronize the content and the data based on timing information and a self-correcting clock of a user device upon which the media player is included, a graphics overlay processor configured to generate information indicative of a graphics overlay based on the data, and a render engine configured to render the graphics overlay indicating the data synchronized to the content for display on a user interface. The data synchronized to the content is selected based on the user input signal.

Abstract: An example metrics manager determines a first audience reach for a television audience, the television audience representative of audience members exposed to a media campaign via television media delivery, determine a second audience reach for a digital audience, the digital audience representative of audience members exposed to the media campaign via digital media delivery. An example deduplicator obtains an overlap multiplier based on the media campaign, the overlap multiplier is a ratio of (1) a product of a panel duplication reach and a did-not-view reach and (2) a product of a television panel reach and a digital panel reach, and determine a duplication factor for the media campaign based on the first audience reach, the second audience reach and the overlap multiplier. An example audience manager determines a total audience for the media campaign based on the first audience reach, the second audience reach and the duplication factor.

Abstract: A method and a system for automatically updating video content are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method may include identifying a frame within a video content based on a plurality of timestamps assigned within the video content, wherein the frame is required to be updated. The method may further include extracting content information associated with the frame, and retrieving at least one source hyperlink used within the frame, based on the content information. The method may further include comparing a first textual content derived from the content information and a second textual content derived from at least one webpage associated with the at least one source hyperlink. The method may further include updating the frame with a summarized text associated with the second textual content and an audio content generated for the summarized text, based on the comparing, and merging the updated frame with the video content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for erasing content stored on a set top box via a dedicated input object of a remote input device are described. A set top box (STB) receives a request to activate the set top box. The STB can create a storage location to which the STB is configured to store identifiers and passwords of a guest. The STB stores one or more user identifiers and passwords of the guest that correspond to one of one or more applications or web services accessed via the device. The STB receives, from a remote control device via a wireless communication, a command to delete the user identifiers and passwords stored on the STB responsive to selection of a delete button on the remote control device. An agent executing on the STB can delete the one or more user identifiers and passwords from the STB responsive to receipt of the command.

Abstract: Embodiments utilize viewership data collected via a set top box (STB) at individual households (HHs) to enable a network operator to recommend ad spots to customers based on a percentage of HHs that are likely to view the ad spots (e.g., the % of HHs reached by the ad spots), and/or based on the average number of times (e.g., average frequency) that the reached HHs are likely to view the ad spot. Embodiments compile the available network/daypart ad spots per broadcast week, and determine a number of ad spots for each network/daypart that satisfy a reached threshold of HHs, and/or satisfies the minimum frequency threshold.

Abstract: System and methods for multimedia playback are provided. A terminal device may obtain a playback identifier of a multimedia playback device. The terminal device may send an association request to a server based on the playback identifier. The association request may enable the server to establish an association between a terminal device and the multimedia playback device. The terminal device may receive a plurality of candidate options pushed by the server. The plurality of candidate options may be pushed to the terminal device associated with the multimedia playback device when the server detects that a preset time point arrives after the multimedia playback device plays back a first media resource. The terminal device may obtain a target option selected from the plurality of candidate options. The terminal device may feedback the target option to the server to enable the server to determine a second media resource to be played back by the multimedia playback device.

Abstract: To make it possible to easily use video data of raw data of a high frame rate input from a single-chip camera in a server system that is different from an AV server system in which an AV server itself is included. First AV clip data is obtained by performing a compression encoding process to raw data of a high frame rate input from a single-chip camera and is written in a storage. The raw data of the high frame rate is obtained by reading the first AV clip data from the storage and processing a compression decoding process on the first AV clip data, video data of a high frame rate is obtained by performing a demosaic process on the raw data, and second AV clip data is obtained by performing a compression encoding process on the video data and is written in the storage. The second AV clip data is read from the storage and transmitted to a second AV server system that is different from a first AV server system in which an AV server itself is included.

Abstract: A device detects that a user device is accessing a media stream that enables the user device to display, via a user interface, media content associated with a subject. The device receives a search query associated with the user device and the media stream, and determines, based on the search query, that a user associated with the user device has a threshold level of interest in a feature of the subject. The device receives feature information associated with the feature based on determining that the user has the threshold level of interest, and receives feature content data that is associated with feature content that includes the feature information. The device causes the feature content to be embedded into the media stream to cause the user device to display the feature content in relation to the feature when the feature is displayed in the media content via the user interface.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for dynamically providing digital content to client devices at different insertion points of a digital video based on predicted total value of inserting the digital content and predicted engagement loss of inserting the digital content. For example, system and methods described herein determine that an insertion point is approaching in an actively playing digital video. In response, systems and methods identify digital content for insertion at the insertion point. In one or more embodiments, the described systems and methods insert the identified digital content by comparing the predicted total value of inserting the digital content at the insertion point of the digital video and a predicted engagement loss associated with inserting the digital content at the insertion point of the digital video.

Abstract: Before receiving an instruction from a media player to encode a media program, a placeshifting device or other video encoder pre-encodes at least a portion of the media program to a low-bandwidth format that can be readily transmitted to the media player upon request. When the media player does instruct the placeshifting device to encode the media program, the placeshifting device initially provides the pre-encoded portion of the media program to thereby allow the media player to begin immediate playback of the pre-encoded portion. After providing the preencoded portion of the media program, the placeshifting device live encodes the remaining portions of the media program according to then-current network conditions to thereby provide the placeshifted video stream to the media player.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for providing a search result based on an ambiguous voice query. The system comprises receiving an ambiguous voice query relating to an object from a user, retrieving a viewing history of the user for about a list of media assets viewed by the user, determining, from the list of media asset, a media asset that is likely to contain the object based at least in part on metadata of the media asset and the ambiguous voice query, searching content of the determined media asset to identify a segment within the media asset that contains the object, and generating a display of information about the object identified from the segment.

In an example implementation, a system includes a touch screen comprising a top surface, a display viewable through the top surface, and one or more interactive element on a portion of the top surface of the touch screen; and a processor coupled to the memory configured to execute one or more methods. Abstract: A client establishes connections with a media server. The connections include a first connection for regular playback and one or more second connections for processing a channel change. Segments of a first video are received from the media server using the first connection in the plurality of connections. The first video is being played on a first channel in a plurality of channels. The client receives a request to change from the first channel to a second channel in the plurality of channels. A request for at least a portion of a segment of a second video being played on the second channel is sent to the media server. The request includes a channel change indicator. The client then receives the at least the portion of the segment of the second video using the one or more second connections with the media server.

Abstract: This invention disclosure relates to a community access television (CATV) signal distribution system which improves signal isolation issues for systems which are distributing both CATV signals and in-home entertainment (IHE) signals. The signal distribution system includes a signal input port, a first multi-port signal splitter and a second multi-port signal splitter. The first multi-port signal splitter is coupled to the signal input port through a first diplexer, and the second multi-port signal splitter is coupled to the signal input port through a second diplexer. In some embodiments the first diplexer high-pass node and the second diplexer high-pass node are coupled together. In some embodiment the signal distribution system includes a signal output port coupled to the signal input port through a third diplexer. The high-pass node of the third diplexer is coupled to the high-pass node of the first diplexer.

Abstract: A method of displaying video embedded in a user interface is performed at an electronic device such as a server system or client device. The method includes obtaining user-interface frames having a first placeholder for a first video window and obtaining source video frames having a first video stream in the first video window. The source video frames and the user-interface frames are interleaved to form an output video stream, which is provided for decoding and display.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a service delivery platform system from a first video source, a control stream associated with a media content stream delivered via a media distribution network. The control stream includes conditional access information for the media content stream including a restriction condition to delivery of the media content stream. The method includes parsing, at the service delivery platform system, the conditional access information to create a substitute table for a head end of the media distribution network that will implement the restriction condition. The substitute table indicates a condition for delivery of a substitute media content stream, a start time, an end time, and a second content source for the substitute media content stream. The method also includes sending the substitution table to the head end from the service delivery platform system to automatically schedule a conditional access event that implements the restriction condition.
