  • Patent number: 9179132
Abstract: A depth signal generation apparatus includes a depth signal estimation unit, a depth signal histogram generator, and a depth signal level converter. The depth signal estimation unit estimates a depth signal for each pixel of a predetermined unit in a video image signal. The depth signal histogram generator divides a range of a depth signal level which the depth signal can have, into depth signal level regions each having a predetermined range size, determines which depth signal level region includes the depth signal for each pixel, counts the number of pixels included in each depth signal level region to generate depth signal histogram data according to the count value. The depth signal level converter generates a depth signal level conversion curve according to the depth signal histogram data and generates a depth signal after level conversion by executing depth signal level conversion according to the depth signal level conversion curve.

  • Patent number: 9140973
Abstract: A rear projection imaging system with an image warping distortion correction system using a camera and processing unit to generate a warping map that corrects for image distortion. The warping map is generated in an iterative process by displaying a known pattern on a viewing screen and, through the use of a camera, having a microprocessor determine the location and shape of the pattern on the screen. The microprocessor then compares the displayed image to the original reference image, calculates the distortion effects present in the projection optics, and generates a warping map.

  • Patent number: 9071829
Abstract: A method and a system are provided integrating inter-pose constraints, which are weighted in a step of “bundle adjustment” in a localization application (SLAM). The inertial data associated with a motion model serve to predict the pose of the system at the instant of a new image. This prediction is then used to construct an inter-pose constraint. A technique arising from learning theory selects the weighting coefficient (ratio of the noise of the covariance signals) in an efficient manner. The inter-pose constraint thus weighted is then integrated within the cost function of the bundle adjustment.

  • Patent number: 9055179
Abstract: Systems and methods of measuring a temporal offset between audio content and video content that employ audio fingerprints from an audio signal in the audio content, and video fingerprints from video frames in the video content. The systems obtain reference audio and video fingerprints prior to transmission of video over a media channel, and obtain target audio and video fingerprints subsequent to transmission of the video over the media channel. Each fingerprint has an associated time stamp. Using the reference and target audio fingerprints and their associated time stamps, the systems determine an audio time stamp offset. Using the reference and target video fingerprints and their associated time stamps, the systems determine a video time stamp offset. Using the audio and video time stamp offsets, the systems determine a temporal offset between the video content and the audio content introduced by the media channel.
