  • Patent number: 10904730
Abstract: Systems and methods for correcting network connectivity of a connected device are provided. Such systems and methods can include a mobile device determining whether the mobile device can connect to and communicate with a connected device, and the mobile device determining whether the mobile device is connected to a home network. When the mobile device cannot connect to and communicate with the connected device, but is connected to the home network, such systems and methods can include the mobile device transmitting or displaying messages documenting a troubleshooting process to restore the network connectivity between the mobile device and the connected device. Contents of the messages can be dependent on whether some or none of current network connectivity information related to a current network connection between the mobile device and the home network matches stored network connectivity information.

  • Patent number: 10904783
Abstract: Enhanced carrier aggregation may require development of mechanisms to enable carrier aggregation for an increased number of component carriers. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment. The apparatus may receive, with an uplink grant, a request for channel state information. The apparatus determines the number of bits comprising the request. The determined number of bits may be based on or associated with the number of serving cells configured for the apparatus. The apparatus reports the channel state information in response to the request based on information in the determined number of bits.

  • Patent number: 10903943
Abstract: Mobile devices, base stations, and/or relay stations may implement a method for an improved and reliable automatic repeat request feedback indication. A mobile device (UE) may establish communication within a wireless network, and indicate to the network that the UE is a special type device, e.g. a constrained device. The network (base station) may then not send an indication on a physical indicator channel to the UE when certain conditions are met, and instead, the mobile device may interpret control information received from the network on a physical control channel as a negative acknowledgment indication corresponding to an automatic repeat request from the network. The UE may then perform a retransmission according to the interpreted control information. A new control information format may be used to further define how the network and UE implement the automatic repeat request process, to reduce the total number of bits required in the control information.

  • Patent number: 10897773
Abstract: An architecture, for a cellular communications system, is described herein in which a “bearer-less” model is used for both the radio interface and the network core. Instead of using an individual Layer 2 bearer for each Quality of Service (QoS) class, in the architecture described herein, a common Layer 2 connection (e.g., a Layer 2 “fat pipe”) may be used to handle traffic flows between a User Equipment (UE) device and an external Packet Data Network (PDN). Additionally, a bearer-less architecture may be used in the radio interface (i.e., between User Equipment (UE) and the eNB).

  • Patent number: 10893404
Abstract: A method for gateway recovery processing and device, the method comprising: in the case where a terminal moves from a first mobility management unit to a second mobility management unit, the second mobility management unit receiving flag information from the first mobility management unit, wherein the flag information being used to indicate that a connection signaling of a packet data network (PDN) is in a suspension state; and the second mobility management unit transmitting the flag information to a serving gateway (SGW), the flag information being used to trigger the SGW to send a bearing update request message to a PGW as a packet data network element. The above technical solution achieves that the PGW is notified when a UE moves to a new mobility management unit, so as to ensure the terminal to receive downlink service.

  • Patent number: 10887840
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes techniques for preserving battery life of a mobile device by monitoring a mobile device to determine a state of inactivity. A state of inactivity may be determined if the screen of the mobile device is off and the mobile device remains stationary for a period of time. Battery life may be preserved by placing the mobile device and/or a mobile application of the mobile device into an idle state for successive idle periods separated by maintenance periods. When in an idle state, the mobile device and/or a mobile application of the mobile device may be prevented from utilizing various features or functions of the mobile device that may tend to drain the battery. The mobile device and/or mobile application may be granted temporary access to the various features and functions during the maintenance periods to temporarily allow the mobile device and/or mobile application to perform updates.

  • Patent number: 10880749
Abstract: Techniques which prevent rogue devices from continued access to a wireless communication system. A control element directs access points as to which mobile stations to service. Each access point maintains a record of the mobile stations it is servicing. At the direction of the control element, one or more access points send ACK (acknowledgement) messages when hearing messages from a rogue device. When the rogue device sends a message, it expects an ACK message in response, but those additional ACK messages interfere with the responsive ACK message, causing the rogue device to never hear the responsive ACK message. The rogue device assumes its message was not received, so it retries sending of that message. When the rogue device retries sending of its message, the responsive ACK message is similarly interfered with, until the rogue device concludes that its connection has been lost.

  • Patent number: 10742360
Abstract: Techniques and examples of layer mapping, channel state information (CSI) feedback and hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback in mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives from a base station one or more reference signals, which may be non-zero power (NZP) or zero power (ZP), on one or more time-frequency resources indicated by a network via a communication link between the UE and the base station. The UE estimates, based on the receiving, a subspace spanned by a channel response of an interfering signal. The UE determines a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on the estimated subspace. The UE transmits to the base station a channel state information (CSI) feedback comprising at least the PMI. The PMI may include at least a first precoder and a second precoder.

  • Patent number: 10652131
Abstract: A programmable logic device, such as a field programmable gate array (FPGA), is disclosed that allows for both high speed and low speed signal processing using the existing high speed transceiver. The programmable logic of the device may be programmed to include a sampling logic block that determines the low speed bit patterns from a device under test (DUT). The logic may further include a bit replication logic block that replicates bits such that the output of the device's high speed transceiver looks like a low speed signal to the DUT. The device, therefore, can communicate with the DUT at both the high and low speeds without the need for intermediate hardware.

  • Patent number: 10652762
Abstract: Enhanced quality of service of a cellular radio access network is provided by monitoring the operation of the network for predicting failures. For each of the predicted failures, a proactive maintenance plan is created and an alternative network configuration determined, in which alternative network configuration the impact of the planned maintenance operations is less than in the current (non-alternative) network configuration. Additionally, timing of the maintenance operations is decided based on a network traffic estimate and the network is automatically reconfigured into the alternative network configuration prior to the selected maintenance operation time. According to an embodiment, the object is achieved by means of a Pre-emptive Maintenance Node (PEM) connected to the telecommunications network, such as to an LTE or LTE-A network.
