Abstract: A uniform resource locator (URL) shortener relies on client-side support to embed links to websites into, for example, text messages, emails, tweets, or other forms of microblogging, and that provides additional capabilities. A method may include: recognizing a token indicator; recognizing a token in conjunction with the token indicator; selecting a template corresponding to the token indicator; and executing a process enabled according to the token and the template. Executing an enabled process may include one or more of: generating a URL; generating a URL that is itself a server-based URL shortener, in which the token indicator is substituted for the server-based URL shortener hostname to reduce the character count from that of the server-based URL shortener; displaying information from a destination website of the URL generated from the token and the template; or generating a URL according to a distinctive visual characteristic of the token indicator.

Abstract: A function executing method and apparatus for a mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal may execute a function. The function is associated with a target item according to information written in a selection item. The function executing method may include detecting an event related to a selection item and a target item among a plurality of menu items. The method then parses, upon detecting the event text information of the selection item. The method then executes a function associated with the target item according to the parsed text information.

Abstract: A user interface includes a tactile interface on a client device that allows users to interact with social networking system content in a manner that is optimized for touch screens and mobile devices. The tactile interface allows users to efficiently navigate the social networking system data as well as to capture new content for upload to the social networking system. New content may be captured in a way that allows the user to preview the content in-context.

Abstract: Roughly described, different drawing regions are opened for different users on the same whiteboard. Each drawing region has its own set of line appearance properties, which the user can set with a toolbar. Lines drawn in a drawing region adopt the line appearance properties then in effect for that drawing region, which also apply to replications of the line on other devices in the collaboration session. As the user draws toward a boundary of the user's drawing region, the boundary automatically moves so that the drawing continues to contain the user's drawing activity.

Abstract: In an effort to customize or enhance software applications, configuration data is often used. Configuration settings that are editable by users need not to be limited to a simple flat entry that can be taken out of context anymore. The present invention allows for multiple-levels of configuration settings to interact with each other, so that a single configuration for a given context to be calculated dynamically. In the process, the user gains flexibility to specify more adequately a required change or customization while propagating the information with minimal effort and not requiring additional coding. Furthermore, to simplify a speaker's interactions for controlling an automated device, the addition of a superposed layer over graphic user interface may be used. The superposed layer may display coordinates that a speaker may use to navigate the graphic user interface, for example to associate a location with a keyword or a coordinate.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying a document that is operated upon by a real-time collaborative editing system. The document includes a first active region and additional active regions. The method identifies a first node and one or more additional nodes, all accessing the document via the real-time collaborative editing system. The method identifies a second node that is one of the one or more additional nodes. The method identifies a second active region, which is one of the additional active regions. The method identifies a first node view, which displays the first active region via the first node. The method identifies a second node view. The second node view displays the second active region via the second node. The method responds to input from the first node by creating a third node view that is displayed via the second active region and presented via the first node.

Abstract: Systems and methods which provide an event based media interface operable to organize digital media content for presentation to a user based upon predefined events are shown. A user may define an event epoch, such as may comprise an event designator, temporal criteria, location criteria, content criteria, etc., whereby digital media content associated with the event epoch is organized into an event collection. Various aspects of the event collection, such as relative event significance level, sharing scope, contributor group, etc., may be used to facilitate control with respect to the event collections of event epochs of embodiments herein. The event content of event collections herein may comprise digital photographs, videos, sound files, documents, etc., alone or in combination. An event gallery may be utilized to provide a user interface in which event content of one or more event collection is presented.

Abstract: A device for use in studies involving multiple subjects to record observation data in an output file is provided. The invention may be embodied in a tablet type computer having a touchscreen or another form of electronic device having user input capability. The device displays a set of subject buttons for selecting a subject for which observation data will be recorded, a corresponding set of start time buttons to track and display the elapsed time for the corresponding subject, and a set of observation buttons corresponding to pre-defined observation data established by the user. Additional features may include, among other features, a reminder function for setting user-defined alarms, a time-stamped note function, and an initiation function for items such as time synchronization, describing subjects, and describing environmental or exposure details for the study to be performed.

Abstract: The subject technology discloses configurations for providing detecting a first touch input on a touch-sensitive screen, wherein the first touch input corresponds with a position on the touch-sensitive screen. The subject technology further determines if the position of the first touch input is within a predetermined distance of a tap target area associated with a graphical element. The tap target area is then expanded by a predetermined amount to increase an area of the tap target area. The subject technology receives a second touch input on the touch-sensitive screen, wherein the second touch input corresponds with a second position on the touch-sensitive screen. It is determined if the position of the second touch input is within the expanded tap target area. The subject technology then selects the graphical element in response to the position of the second touch input being within the expanded tap target area.

Abstract: A method of monitoring network traffic includes providing a processor and obtaining a list including a plurality of words. Each word having at least one metric associated therewith. The method also includes querying network traffic to obtain a set of messages including one or more of the plurality of words. The method further includes scoring, using the processor, the messages in the set of messages and displaying the messages, ranked by score, in a user interface.

The device generates proposed arrangement(s) of sets of computing resources, from the computing resources of the cloud computing environment, based on the user requirements and the system requirements. Each of the proposed arrangements is associated with a corresponding one of the user devices. The device provides information associated with the proposed arrangements to the user devices.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to displaying organizational information for a user's downline in an interactive graphical user interface (GUI). In one scenario, a computer system accesses portions of data for a user, where the data corresponds to secondary users in the user's downline. The computer system further generates a first-level view for the interactive GUI. The interactive GUI includes an interior portion configured to display filtered production data for the secondary users according to the accessed data as filtered by various production data filters. The interactive GUI also includes an exterior portion that includes rays extending outward from the interior portion, where each ray represents a secondary user's downline. The length and width of each ray is determined by the number of secondary users, and sales volume generated in the user's downline. The computer system then displays the generated first-level view in the interactive GUI.

Abstract: A stage-based user interface for a mobile device may include a sequence of panels that each include a cluster or grouping of items, such as graphical links, application shortcuts, representations of documents, or representations of other data associated with the mobile device. The panels in the sequence of panels may be grouped so that panels that are related or that include similar items may be placed next to one another in the sequence of panels. In one implementation, the device may particularly display a graphical window that presents a panel selected from a sequence of panels, the panels in the sequence of panels each associated with a group of items and the sequence of panels having an order determined at least partially by the groups of items associated with the panels.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for expanding and collapsing content in electronic touch sensitive devices. The expand/collapse function can be used to navigate through content that may be displayed on a screen. The user can engage the function with a pinch-based gesture. In some cases, the UI feature includes a reading pane that displays a sample of the previously hidden detailed data relating to the content currently displayed on the screen. Background content outside the reading pane can be faded or otherwise softened. In some cases, the UI feature also includes, or alternatively includes, tap-expand feature that allows the user to select one or more items that are intended to be expanded or collapsed. Such a feature can include an initial single contact, followed by an inward or outward pinch with at least one additional contact point, in some example case.
