  • Patent number: 10018034
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for determining a parameter of a fluid is disclosed. Measurements are obtained of a temperature of the fluid and a pressure of the fluid. A material is disposed in the fluid, and an actuator applies a stimulation pulse at a selected frequency to the material to generate an oscillation in the material. A measurement device measures a parameter of oscillation of the material in response to the stimulation pulse, the parameter of oscillation being affected by the fluid in which the material is disposed. A processor determines the parameter of the fluid from the measured parameter of the oscillation, the temperature measurement and the pressure measurement.

  • Patent number: 9983036
Abstract: A measurement control section of a flow meter device causes a measurement block dividing section to divide a sampling cycle Tc into three or more, for example, four measurement blocks Tb of an equal length and causes the flow measuring section to measure the flow of a fluid in each of the measurement blocks Tb. A flow calculating section of the flow measuring section calculates an average value of flow values obtained in all of the measurement blocks in each sampling cycle Tc, as a flow value in each sampling cycle Tc. This configuration allows a flow meter device which employs an inverse transit time difference method, such as an estimation gas meter, to more effectively lessen the influence of a pulsation and to perform flow measurement with higher accuracy.

  • Patent number: 9938108
Abstract: A first motor causes a first conveying roller pair to rotate, and a second motor causes a second conveying roller pair and an aligning rotational member to rotate. A control portion temporarily stops the first motor each time a sheet member reaches a position at which the sheet member is subjected to punching. Each time the sheet member reaches the position at which the sheet member is subjected to punching, the control portion continuously operates the second motor if the sheet member unreaches a position at which the sheet member is nipped by the second conveying roller pair, and otherwise temporarily stops the second motor.

  • Patent number: 9863902
Abstract: A resistive microelectronic fluid sensor implemented as an integrated voltage divider circuit can sense the presence of a fluid within a fluid reservoir, identify the fluid, and monitor fluid temperature or volume. Such a sensor has biomedical, industrial, and consumer product applications. After fluid detection, the fluid can be expelled from the reservoir and replenished with a fresh supply of fluid. A depression at the bottom of the sample reservoir allows a residual fluid to remain undetected so as not to skew the measurements. Electrodes can sense variations in the resistivity of the fluid, indicating a change in the fluid chemical composition, volume, or temperature. Such fluctuations that can be electrically sensed by the voltage divider circuit can be used as a thermal actuator to trigger ejection of all or part of the fluid sample.

  • Patent number: 9822267
Abstract: An ink composition useful for digital offset printing applications includes a colorant and a high viscosity thickening agent. The ink is formulated to incorporate polyester viscosity modifier to help meet the requirement of two different viscosity or temperature pairs at two different stages of the process. In digital offset printing a bulk ink is first transferred onto an anilox roll, and then from the anilox roll onto the imaging cylinder blanket. During the bulk ink to anilox roll the disclosed ink has a low viscosity while the transfer from roll to imaging blanket the ink has a higher viscosity. The addition of the polyester viscosity modifier increases the viscosity difference within the allowable temperature range, thus, increasing process latitude and robustness.
