  • Patent number: 11216901
Abstract: A system, a method, and computer-readable media for opportunistically authenticating a taxpayer. Specifically, embodiments of the invention leverage the fact that the user has possession of particular documents or access to certain information as evidence that the user is the person referred to in those documents or information. If the user provides sufficient evidence to authenticate themselves while providing the information required for the financial transaction, no separate authentication step may be required. At a high level, documents or other data imported in a first context (e.g., during the process of preparing a tax return for a user) are used as evidence of the user's authenticity in a second context.

  • Patent number: 11094009
Abstract: A communication system enabling a first wireless subscriber in need of an instant credit line to use a creditee module on a portable wireless communication device to request credit from a second subscriber that has available credit at a financial institution. The second subscriber uses a creditor module on their device to generate rules for the extension of a credit line guaranteed by the financial institution of the second subscriber. If the rules are met, a credit authorization code is generated by the system and forwarded to the creditee module of the first subscriber's device such that the code can be subsequently used to complete a transaction initiated by the first subscriber to pay a vendor. The vendor may then employ a vendor's module to access the issued credit as prescribed by the creditor module.

  • Patent number: 11080790
Abstract: An insurance policy management computing system (201) stores a legally-binding insurance policy as a read-only document including the complete policy history. To facilitate revisions to the policy, the computing system (201) provides an opportunity (202) to revise an insurance policy and recalls (203) the currently legally-binding insurance policy. Since the legally-binding insurance policy is a read-only document, the computing system (201) uses the legally-binding policy to generate an editable version that is a complete copy of the legally-binding policy. Once the editable version of the insurance policy has been generated, the input revisions can be incorporated into the policy and then, the revised version of the insurance policy is saved as a read-only, now-current version of the insurance policy. The new legally-binding insurance policy has a new creation and effective dates of the various policy elements.

  • Patent number: 11068881
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for resource distribution within an offline environment. A merchant device internally stores a repository of reference codes and managing entity public keys that are paired with managing entity private keys. The user requests an amount of resources for offline exchange from the managing entity system. The managing entity system transmits certain authorization and encryption information to a user device. When the user device receives an exchange prompt from the computing device of the merchant through near field communication, it generates a digital token incorporating layers of content encryption ending with a managing entity's private key. The encrypted token and reference code are transmitted via near field communication to the merchant device. The merchant device matches the reference code to the managing entity public key and decrypts portions of the token with the managing entity public key to acquire the usable exchange information.
